Installed and ready for launch.
*snip*

Very nice.

Thought about it some more and decided if EKWB respond and tell me I'm delayed until March/April because they sold the block that should have been allocated to me while they were waiting for the nickel back plate, they can shove it right up their tailpipe - I'll cancel the order and wait for the K|ngP|n Hydro Copper instead, and sell my 3090 FTW3 Ultra.

I'm sure your block is allocated to your order once the backplate is ready. That's happened before to me in the past.
Have some screenshot temps from aida64. It runs very cool. I just finished a 1 hour stress test on aida64 at 1980 clock only. Room is at 18C ambient.

Silly stuff. CPUv is 1.337 Heh

Very nice temps! I love AIDA64, been using it for many years right back to Everest days in ~2008 or earlier. Already working on a remote screen display for once I have a loop set up:

Looks good. Any idea if we can swap the bracket to a single slot?

Thinking about buying this one. Looks like it should fit as long as the ek backplate doesn't conflict.

I did not see any issue preventing the single slot when I did the install.

On 100% load, 1980mhz for 1 hour, never saw anything over 38 C @18 C ambient. I don't see any temps for the backside memory but the backplate seems like it won't be any issue at all unless you live inside a volcano.

The arcticlean tim remover #1 doesn’t help does it?

It did after using the toothbrush method before like scarlet said. I prefer when pads were used in the past instead.

Thanks for the update and the review.

Bit of sarcasm here: Is your delta over ambient lolworthy compared to the amazing Optimus blocks?

Thanks for the update. Did you use liquid metal or the thermal paste that came with the block?

Am I correct in thinking if I have yet to order, there's little chance I see one of these blocks until Summer? Guess it's time to explore other options

The backplate is very nice and study but not heavy. Up and running.

Thanks for the photos and data, nice and cool.

What is your rad and fan setup for those temps?

EKWB website is currently stating expected date of availability for new orders is as follows (for the EVGA FTW3):

A bit sure but don't forget this is not a cheap or inexpensive block either. More important than the block, radiator capacity and ambient temperature iare more important.

I always use Gelid Extreme for all blocks CPU or GPU.

I think being late on the FTW3 block order was a blessing. Three FTW3s in now. I would have been fuming if I had have added the card to my custom loop only to have it fail... twice...

Thanks for the review of it. Those temps are crazy good.

Can I ask - have you got the updated BIOS on your card?

I do have the updated bios installed on bios 2 but other than raising the power limit, doesn't provide me with an advantage right now since it performs great on the stock bios.

Which bios? There’s the updated one in this thread but also a hybrid one that was added:

It’s on page 1.

If you're looking at that estimated delivery date on your order information page, don't believe it. Mine even now says 10th February but it has shipped.

Right, well that's promising. I've sent them an email to see what's up but I'll remain pessimistic just in case; better to be pleasantly surprised than gutted

EDIT: Just heard back from them; seems you're right. My ETA is 15th of Jan!
