Wow after almost a month just one "minor" fix noted?  The previous .22's were getting slammed hard in the official thread.   I've been stuck on a September driver and hesitant to try again after my experience with the 54x.xx series causing monitors to go black screen/no signal randomly (along with apparently a lot of others in the official feedback threads).

15+ drivers not counting studio drivers released since Sept and you still think it's the drivers causing you issue's?

I haven't tried any since 546.33 which I was getting daily and sometimes multiple times a day screens going "no signal" black screen both in games and on the desktop doing nothing and many were reporting and still have reported the same issues in the official feedback threads.  I DDU'd and went back to 537.58's and have had zero issues again since doing that a few months ago.  The only time I had the black screens issue was after updating to those 546's.  Once my Thursday night group gaming session is over tonight I might try these new ones over the weekend and see how things go.

edit:  I saw one recent thread on the nvidia forums mentioning this specific issue with 360hz  monitors but mine aren't that high on refresh, but the fix in that case as a workaround was to force Max Performance in the NV control panel and/or not let the monitors have a sleep timer in power settings, like the drivers were ignoring the fact that you were using the system and putting the monitors to sleep anyway.  When it happens though the only fix is restart the PC.

That's not encouraging.  What driver were you on before?  Any issues with black screens on it?

edit:  well I'm going to try them anyway.  Was looking at some feedback in the current driver thread and the Nvidia rep told someone else with similar issues it could be monitor EDID issue and they give instructions for forcing a crash dump when it happens and sending that to Nvidia then rolling back to a known working driver.  So at least if I encounter it I might be able to help get it resolved.

Will do.  It's been frustrating being "afraid" to update my GPU drivers.  Never had an issue like this before with a GPU driver in years of building/owning PC's.  I went over the system carefully when it popped up doing virus/malware scans, rolled back a recent at the time WU as well, and even ordered a new 12VHPWR cable when I thought it might have been a faulty one at first (also carefully inspected the GPU connector side for melting).

In all the various forums where I've seen this issue discussed, the most common phrase mentioned was "after my monitor came out of sleep", black screens, flickering screens, etc.  I wonder if any of these people have tried not letting their system go to sleep using the Windows sleep options in power settings to see if the issue goes away or not.

I have almost the same setup as flyinion as far as we both have a 4090, we both have an LG display (mine is 32GP850) and an ASUS (mine is PG278Q), same OS, and I have never had this issue. I also never use the auto sleep settings in Windows. If I plan to leave my system for awhile, I manually put my system to sleep. Never automatically.

bdary, I have the same monitor as you and an ASUS 4090 TUF OC with an EK Vector² block and have never experienced the issue either. I don't use Windows Sleep barring allowing it to turn off my monitor after xx minutes of inactivity.

To you and DarkEmpire - do you have "Deep Sleep" (option within the monitor's OSD) turned on or off? I have mine turned off as there has always been complaints about monitors not waking up correctly with this option on.

I don't have deep sleep or Auto Standby enabled. Never have.  My monitors only go into a sleep mode when I either manually put my whole PC to sleep from the Start Menu or when I shut my system down at the end of the day.

I read that about the monitors coming out of sleep as well.  I never shut my system off except for maintenance or vacation.  I just have the monitors set to shut off after an hour of inactivity.  The 360Hz issue I read about it sounded like setting the monitors to not go to sleep at all and just powering them off was a potential fix.  My monitors are just 144Hz ones though.

Assuming no hardware issue's are present, getting random black screens at the start of launching a game or while gaming is more than a driver issue in my opinion. I would say it's more likely some conflict with drivers, software, or monitor settings. Like the grpahics driver + some other driver/software or some other setting related to the monitor(s).

I also think if this was strictly a graphics driver issue, not only would it be more widespread, but Nvidia would have a fix by now since it's been going on for many months. Just my .02 cents.

The HDCP problem nvidia can't solve for several years now (I mean black screen for a few seconds when minimizing and maximizing a game if it's running in full screen mode).

Had it installed since Friday afternoon.  So far it seems to be good.  Not calling it stable yet, but pretty sure I was having issues on the 546.33's a day or two if that after upgrading but didn't really piece together what was going on at first.  Not sure if those 546.33's were actually bad or if my driver install had just gotten corrupted somehow.  Or possibly a bad Windows Update though I'm pretty sure I yanked out whatever MS might have installed when I was having the issue to try and troubleshoot.  So far it's been behaving in games and on the desktop.

Yep I think I'm officially calling things stable at this point.  Been about a week and a half with various games etc and no issues that I've noticed.
