Glad I went with an XC3 as I was able to get a block quickly.

Not thrilled that they didn't factor in the inductors and chokes with regard to the cooling but I'll just have to get 5-6mm thermal pads.

I wasn't thrilled that they disregarded them with the last generation reference quantum vector block. I had the 2070 super black and after a year of use with the EK block the areas above the inductor/choke areas on the back of the PCB showed evidence of overheating. Horrible coil whine developed over time too.

It looks like they just used reference and modified the plexi on top.  Hopefully your FTW3 blocks were actually custom made for the card.

Looks to be custom from what I see. The PCB is much different with the FTW.

Awesome, that would make sense.  Perhaps I should have kept my FTW3 and just waited for the water block.  I'm def hitting the power limits on my XC3 at stock clocks sometimes.  Oh well though - I don't OC much anyways.

Congrats. Seems the black backplate is the golden ticket. I didn't put my order in until 1/6 so I will be sucking hind teat no matter what lol.

Hey guys whose blocks have already shipped, how long time did your order status "processing" last before shipping? For me and my friend it's been "processing" for like 5 days already. What does processing the order even mean in the end? Does EK have our blocks in hands already if it says processing?

I think processing means that it should be shipped out soon. "Soon" could mean 2-6 business days; at least that's what i've been seeing based on people commenting in different threads.

Yeah that's what I would guess too. Just little strange it's taking this long. I'm just nervous because I don't want to get the message telling I'll get the block in April or something :D Thanks for reply!

Send an email to customer service. They should be able to let you know what's happening.

Even though my order is in processing, I was told that the black backplate is the hold up.  Ordered on 12/7 around 10:25AM EST so the first day orders are being held up.  They gave me an estimate of 1/22 for the part to come back in stock and the order to ship out.

I got an update that they anticipate to be restocked beginning of next week and to allow 5 days for processing.   ETA on account page still still showing Feb 10

You ordered 6 minutes before me.

Not following.  I said that the hold up is the black backplate on the order.

Processing doesn't really mean much at all. Mine says processing and I ordered mine on 1/6 and have been in communication with support and have an eta of 3/26.

My order was just mere hours after they released these.  The original delivery date was 1/7/2021, which got pushed to 2/10/2021, that got updated to 1/21/2021, and now was pushed to 3/4/2021.

I would love to be upset.  But as bad as this is (I built my rig back in September to be fully water-cooled), I don't even have another option for a water block here.  I'd buy an Optimus block, but they are still saying "Next batch will be available November 2020".

That optimus block looks amazing. Also ridiculously expensive and I've heard so many stories of delayed shipping and poor communication. There is the heatkiller block that is delayed as well. I doubt it will be shipping before the EK as EK is a much larger company. Bykski or Barrow blocks would probably be the fastest to get but I don't like the looks and have no expectation for the longevity or thermals.

I am hoping the estimates are a “long” estimate. Mine showed that it would be fulfilled in February and it should be here next Monday, so it is ahead of schedule.

The estimated delivery date in your order info has no bearing and is bad data according to EK.

Got my block and back plate (both nickle) yesterday for my 3090 FTW3 Ultra. Installed up an running. Messing around with an overclock now and success up to +200 core. Puts the gpu at 2145 mhz max. Going one 15mhz step up from that seems to result in guaranteed crashes. Haven't touched memory. Temps in my O11 Dynamic XL have a delta of about 11-12 degrees over water temp on the same loop as my cpu.

I've got the same vertical mount, same case, and same GPU block (Eventually). What is your lower radiator? I got the HW Labs 360 GTX. Hope there's clearance.

Re: EKWB blocks for FTW3 2021/01/14 15:52:42 (permalink)
Ek block installed last night. Didn’t do many runs but my stock run of Port Royal nets me 2015mhz in the mid 30c, and settled between 1980 and 1995 after 40c.

I managed a stable 2160mhz core and +500 mem on a 30 minute port royal stress test which settled me at 44c with water temp at 34c and ambient roughly 22c

My water/gpu temp delta started at 13c, but after a run this morning after running the PC for another hour brought down the delta to 10c. Hopefully it can go lower once the coolant settles in the block.

Hey! Did that block fit in o11 XL in horizontal mount?

Installed it on an EK loop vertical mount. Didnt check horizontal sorry.

I've got the same vertical mount, same case, and same GPU block (Eventually). What is your lower radiator? I got the HW Labs 360 GTX. Hope there's clearance.

Mentioned above but its a 45mm EK PE360 with a 25mm unifan

Mine is 9mm thicker. Hardware labs gtx 360. Same fans. Do you have much clearance? I've got my ek bracket set in the lower position. Your bracket missing the screw too? Lol
