This is a Beta BIOS.  The current official BIOS can also be found in the Z790 section and the regular Download Center.

New OC features.

Beta BIOS 1.15 (Z790 DARK K|NGP|N)

  • Beta version for GSKILL live competition.
  • Improving for memory OC ability for gear 4 mode.
  • Update memory 9400 OC profile.
  • Fix memory GUI display issue while boot frequency over 10000.

Windows Installation
  • Download the correct .zip file below for your motherboard:
         121-RL-E799-KR - EVGA Z790 DARK K|NGP|N - v1.15
  • First go into your BIOS and load defaults, save and exit
  • Close all open programs.
  • Go into the folder where you unzipped this package and double-click update.bat
  • Press Y to start the flash process
  • DO NOT TURN OFF POWER OR RESET DURING THE FLASH PROCESS
  • After the flash is finished, the system will automatically shut down. Power on the system again and go into BIOS and adjust settings as needed.
  • NOTE: If flash box immediately closes after flash attempt, the flash may need to be run from a CMD prompt with administrator privileges or DOS version.

BIOS Installation within BIOS

  • Extract the contents of .zip file to USB flash drive (must be formatted as FAT32)
  • Reboot the machine and go into the system BIOS
  • From the BIOS, navigate to the EXTRAS tab at the upper left and click on "BIOS Update"
  • Select the .bin file you wish to flash.

BIOS Installation Without CPU

  • Extract the contents of .zip file to USB flash drive (must be formatted as FAT32)
  • Rename the file "EVGAE7XX.bin", where XX is the last two digits of the part number (e.g. Z790 DARK K|NGP|N should be EVGAE799.bin)
  • Install the USB flash drive into the USB Type-A port on the motherboard.
  • Make sure to connect the 24pin power connector from your power supply to the motherboard.
  • Switch on the power supply, if it is not already on.
  • Hold the BIOS Update button on the rear I/O for approximately 2 seconds until the flash begins (the cursor on the POST LED will begin cycling)
  • The BIOS update may take approximately 5-7 minutes to complete.  When done, the board will restart.
  • Complete the rest of your build at this point to confirm a successful flash.

Please let me know if anyone runs into problems with this update.  Thanks!

Also, earlier BIOS files for each board can be found on our Download Center.

Is there any chances to program the reset jumper button as safe boot button?

Was wondering this myself. 1.15 has been in beta for quite some time now. Then again, I'd rather have a fully tested bugless 1.16 so no rush.

At least there is some hope left since there seems to be a much more recent Beta Bios dated 06/07/2023 for the Z790 Dark:

Curious when EVGA will provide a BIOS update for Z690/Z790, even if BETA to support next gen Intel CPUs.

MSI, Gigabyte, Asrock and Asus have ALL put out BIOS updates to support "next gen Intel CPUs" on Z690 and Z790 motherboards.  I really hope were not gonna have to wait till last minute like last time to be provided with a BIOS update like last time, that was sort of a cluster F. Especially given the news that EVGA BIOS engineers are on hunt for new employment.

I wouldn't be surprised if the answer is never.

They sold the product with the compatibility advertised, the company is winding down, and they may feel like they have no requirement to provide enhanced compatibility more than originally advertised.

As I said in another thread, ask EVGA directly.

It's sad to see engineers being laid off and the company going to the bottom like a sinking ship. Unsung Heroes: EVGA's BIOS Team - YouTube
Half a year ago I wrote that the company would go bankrupt because wihout PR on Nvidia GPU's and Intel motherboards company will be forgotten, no one will buy EVGA power supplies and peripherals in near future

Noticed that the store is empty, everything is out of stock, even power supplies, wow.
Looking like bankruptcy came sooner than I thought it would

    In English:
Apologies for my poor Google translate.  Never learned Italian.  That said, even if we never get another bios update, the board is still a great z790 board (if not the best).  At the end of the day, BIOS updates are one of those things where "if it's not broke, don't fix it."  Completely get that most of us bought the K|ngp|n board to push the envelope and constantly mess with it, but for day to day use it's still a great board that can handle most of the RAM thrown at it.  Just don't beat yourself up about it.  :-)

I think the concern is that while other z790 motherboards either have already or are getting a bios update for 14th gen in October, EVGA's boards aren't.

Yup. Asus have just announced a couple of Z790 motherboards for the 14th gen CPU refresh. The Rog Maximus Dark Hero will come with 14th gen support right out the box and has that nice PCI-E latch for the GPU socket. Also has one Gen 5 M.2 NVME socket on the board with a meaty heatsink. Might switch to that one and flip my Z790 Dark Kingpin on ebay if it doesn't see a BIOS update before October.

CHE VERGOGNA, VEDERE CHE SU Z790 KINGPIN, evga SI E' ARRENATA, E NULLA DI NUOVO TRAPELA, MI FA PENTIRE MOLTO DI AVER SPESO I MIEI SOLDI PER UNA SCHEDA MADRE GIA' DEFUNTA.

    Are you joking?
a Z790 board MUST be compatible with gen14, there will not be a z890

and this is a 1k€ z790 board, this is just UNACCEPTABLE.

I know that a lot of fanboy here would forgive anything to evga, but not this please.

    ps:
not to mention the rest of the SW/FW/Drivers support that never was.
    it's just a shame.

pps: just for the records: ANY other Z790 (and B760 etc) board from ANY other brand it's already compatible with gen14 from months, even 100$ boards.
if i was not clear: IT'S A SHAME.

It likely won't be compatible because EVGA is folding. It's not like every other manufacturer.
