Quick question, I have an EVGA 1000 GT I’m using for my build. I currently got a 5080, but plan on upgrading to 5090 when I can get my hands on one. The VGA cables on this split from one on the power supply to 2, if I have two of these, can they supply enough power for the RTX 5090?

    Welcome to the EVGA Forum

I would highly recommend using seperate cables for each power connection to the 5080 GPU, even if using two cable works

    System Power Supply:
    · 850 W power rating minimum.
    · Supported power connector configurations:
    - At least three PCIe 8-pin cables
(with RTX 5080 PCIe Gen 5 Power Connector Adapter).
    - One 450 W or greater PCIe Gen 5 Cable (16-pin)

    5090 GPU
= you must use seperate PCIe cable for the 600W load, each PCIe is rated 150W

Appreciated! What I might do for now is use 4 cables, 2 of the normal VGA and 2 of the split ones and just plug all of them in temporarily. Appreciate the help!
