There will be a thread for screenshots once the competition starts.  The screenshot must be taken during the contest period.

its pretty simple, just click on the start symbol, then it either already shows up there in the list, or select programs. It should be there the latest. Then click on it, it "freezes" your desktop, then you can mark whht you want to be included in the screenshot, then save it.

The snipping tool ois one of the features of Win7 I actually find useful. Im sure it can do much more than fold, game and snip but Ill save that for another day

The question was asked which prize distribution method is preferred and very few people provided an opinion.  There are two suggestions
  • Everyone is assigned a prize that they win.
  • Everyone is randomly assigned an order by which they select whatever prize they prefer.

The pick your own prize has the benefit of insuring you get a prize you can use (and what you value the most from the remaining prizes), but it is a little bit slower in distributing the prizes.  The randomly assigning prizes is much faster in assigning prizes, but can lead to people winning prizes they might not have a use for.

Whatever way the majority wants to go is how things will work.

This is my first CC and I don't really care if I get a prize or not and I'd be grateful for anything. If I can use it cool if I can't I can sell it.

The second option seems like a better idea, imo.

First option works. Second option does too....If i had to pick one it would be the first one.

I'm thinking Option #2 sounds pretty good and maybe a reasonable selection time-frame should be set so that it doesn't take too long to administer.  Also with Option #2, before accepting a particular prize, the person can also consider any parameters that were set by the donator for the prize as well (shipping, etc).

option 2 sounds like a great idea , since it would give people a chance to pick something they can use. either way is overall good to me , we do this for the cause not the prizes

I like either option, but I think option 2 would be better in the end.  A time frame would also be useful to make sure that everything is done in a timely manner.

I vote option 2.. but perhaps a thread can be started for people to "trade" their prizes after they are announced, but before they are awarded? Sort of a last-ditch effort to help people get something they can use?

option 2 but with a first come first serve type?  basically count the N# of prizes, take the top N people generated like before, but instead of waiting for the first, then second, just have a free for all post in a prize claim topic stating 1st and 2nd choices(incase 1st choice is taken by 3 other simultaneous posts)

...or something to the affect.

Option 2 with maybe 24 hours period for picking seems the best. Option 1 is easy to organize but leaves more mess after it

My vote :
Option 2, with a time limit from award notification of win to respond.

How exactly do we fold "90% of our PPD" for EVGApes. I have all of my clients switched over ATM, should that be enough? Or is that number referring to our daily PPD we put when we signed up for the contest?

If you put out 100,000 ppd you only need to give EVGApes 90,000 to be eligible for the contest.

Folding whatever I can :o)

I agree, second option is best cause I'm sure nobody wants to get a prize that maybe useless to them + they have the option to pass if nothing is on the list they need

It worked very well during the madness contest

^ that I understand, but if I check my name, it shows 0, and If i check under EVGApes, that includes everyone, If your not using your own passkey, how do you know what % you gave. Does everyone have a unique passkey ?
