The driver you want is 306.23
Yes, leave the NVCP at defaults
Try the -exact- settings I posted (all of them as shown) and leave the FOV at the default of 70

Now test for stablity and framerates with the new settings, I think you will be quite surprised at the results

Extra CPU core speed will always help a game like BF3
But your really at almost at top performance on your 560Ti, so dont expect any large FPS gains....
It -will- help with the min framerates, just be sure to keep an eye on the CPU temps

Have you installed anything else (Applications/games) around when this started happening?
Running something different "while" playing?

Have you tried reinstalling the exact same audio driver you are running?
Have you tried a repair install, and let Origin check your BF3 files?

Hi Maniac,

The current latest driver from Nvidia is still recommended for BF2 & BF3, any majors change in game setting or in NVCP ?

Thanks

I also uploaded the Precision clock settings I am currently using. Voltage is at stock the only thing I changed from default was GPU and Mem.

I get a benchmark score on Heaven 3.0 which I have sent an attachment so you can see this too.

Now I had my cpu overclocked to 4.6 with voltage set too 1.45 and the computer was completely stable with temps and all and didn't get a blue screen. I went back to optimized defaults and I will tell you why.....

My internet connection when working at 100% I get 16 to 17Mbps down and a ping of anywhere between 25 & 45 on non peak hours and I try playing during these hours to have the best game play.

What I am trying to figure out is while I am in game my hit detection is just horrible with my current settings and as you can see I have a computer well good enough to play BF3.

My in game settings I have sent a screen shot as well.

One thing I have wondered also where is the best spot to put your Network Smoothing factor setting at? I have read that most say adjust it to what ever the ping is on the server you are playing on? ANy suggestions on that?

PS : Also I notice on your rig you are only running two cards and you are using the 3way sli connector. Is that the way I should be running my two 670's with the 3way sli connector and not the single connector sli? That is the one I am using at the moment the single SLI connector.

As for the internet connection it is Broadband and my package, Ha I said Package, is 16Mbps.

I use a NETGEAR Router WNDR4500 N900 wireless router. I share one other connection of which most of the time I am not sharing bandwidth with my roommate. The hook up is wired and the wireless is disabled at all times.

Thats not much info to base a opinion on...
Try clearing your Browser Cache and test.
Might be a good idea to pull off the SLI connector and re-seat it as well...

Can you please explain the "filckering" better, is it the whole frame of is it just parts of the background?

For dual 680's in SLI and a 120hz monitor I recommend the NVCP 3DSettings be left at at defaults
*(except for Single display performance mode)
-->And then the following in-game settings using CUSTOM Mode

Just a heads up, "whole" frame flickering that is reduced or fixed by using Vsync "could" be a sign of a failing monitor.
If it starts happening again, dont use Vsync or make any changes, and run something like Heaven 3.0 or another game and see if it occurs

Just went through the setup guide for my current setup:
3930k i7 @4.0GHz
16gb ram
EVGA GTX 580 3 Gb
Running off SSD
1080p 24"

I got far better results, good work! I did find I needed at least 2xmsaa when used with HBAO to avoid crawling of textures (chain link/ trees) in the distance. Vsync off helped with frame rates obviously but I hate tearing..

My real question is, I am upgrading to a GTX 680 4Gb classy today and will have a 2560x1440 display soon as well. Are there any tips for that high a res? And was there anything useful in the advanced section that you never finished?

Great work btw maniacvvv

With a GTX 680 4gig and running at 2560x1440
I think you will be extremely happy, the game looks incredible at that res.  No real tips or suggestions, crank it up and enjoy

Thanks, I have a updated Nvidia driver guide on the way and both a ARMA3 and BF4 guides planned

hey, maniac.  noob here.  i see you've been very helpful in suggesting settings for several people here.  i was hoping you'd help a new comp builder out.  i haven't built a rig since 2004 and at that time was helped by someone far more proficient than i.

anyway, new rig specs...
i7-3770k
asus maximus v formula
evga gtx 690
8 gb corsair vengance 1866
benq xl2420t (1920x1080 via dual link dvi to get 120hz)
crucial 256 gb ssd
500 gb wd hdd
corsiar h80
corsair hx750
win 7 64 bit

everything is stock (not oc'd) now since i'm just finishing building and want to re-familiarize myself with the pc "ropes" before i mess it up.  played a round of bf3 on pc for the first time last night.  it's like a totally different game from console version!  hoping you can help me optimize it with some nvcp and bf3 settings suggestions!

thanks!

Leave the NVCP at defaults except to set "Single display performance mode"

You want the latest official Nvidia driver--> 306.23
-Always- use a "Custom" "Clean" install

use only the BF3 in-game video options panel to make changes
Leave the FOV at the default of 70, Refresh rate at 120 and Vsync OFF

With such a nice setup, I suggest the following in-game video settings

*Remember, you must use the "CUSTOM" option listed at the top for "Graphics Quality" (dont use the Ultra or other presets)
After making the changes (and saving them) you must completely close the game and then restart it for the changes to properly take effect

Since your config is so powerful, you should try the above settings "first"
-Then- Turn off the AA "post" and try it with the x4 MSAA "defferred".
Pick the one you like the best, but I suggest -not- to use both at the same time....

You got some sweet hardware for BF3  ENJOY it bro

also, could you elaborate on the above?  i have the latest official nvidia driver (306.23) since i just set this thing up yesterday and went directly to the website to download it (did not use the cd included in the box).  does that count as a "clean" install?  though i don't believe it was "custom".  not sure what you mean by that.

thanks again for the help!

For what a Custom/clean install is, read my Nvidia GUIDE http://forums.evga.com/fb.ashx?m=1174372

Now you dont have a borked install, so you DO NOT need to do any of those steps listed in the guide.
Just read up on what the Custom/Clean install means, and does
Just next time you install a driver, use CUSTOM Mode and be SURE to put a Check Box in the "Perform a Clean Install" option.
Thats all you need to do

hello I'm having some really weird stuff going on with my game.
If you look at the images below you will see this very annoying haze glitch that randomly came about along with some other annoying things that make my in game visuals look way out of whack. here is the funny part,  I was running an EVGA gtx 570 that I bought back in June that ran fine all summer. So when I noticed this a few weeks ago I figured my card had gone bad even though I hadn't OC'ed it or anything. I tried updating my drivers and re installing the game but still no luck. So I gave in and spent 300 bucks on a new 660ti 2GB. This is what has me lost..I put the card in and did a fresh OS install and 3 weeks and 320 bucks later still no luck. Im still getting the exact same graphical issues. I am running your NVCP settings and in game I run a mix of high and ultra with no ssao or Hbao and only high Post AA. When I turn up MSAA the haze gets worse and textures look even more odd looking. and lowering the settings doesn't help. Like I said before this I've run the game fine as long as I've had it. And its up to date with all DLCs. I'm currently on the latest nvidia drivers and the rest of my hardware is more then enough.
AMD Phenom II x4 955 at 3.9 ghz
8GB DDR3
ASUS sabertooth 990FX mobo
700W psu
500GB caviar blue WD HDD
Win 7 64bit
CM 960 II advanced case running 5 fans
any help would be greatly appreciated on getting this fixed. I'll give any needed info

Thanks!

EDIT*** I guess I cant post the links to the screenshots yet

The DICE patch may have reset your in-game settings on you
Go in and make sure it has NOT reverted to a "Preset" in the in-game "Graphics Quality" setting
It should be set to "CUSTOM" and with that card the "Texture Quality" should be set to HIGH.
