E-Leet should be fine for monitoring load voltages. You can see them under the Monitoring tab. The most accurate way to check voltage would be with a volt meter using the test points on the board.

ok just passed 5 linx at 1.4v on 18x, tried jumping to 20+1turbo but it hangs just after memory tests and devices, trying 19x now on same settings as 18x.  Shall i post my bios template?

oh and loaded cpu vcore in e-leet is 1.33v

0x50 generally means something is going on with your memory. Back down your CPU multiplier and try to get your memory stable first.

Glad to hear you were able to pass LinX. Being able to pass LinX at bclk 230 is very impressive.

If you want to go to a higher CPU multiplier, I have found that for every 100 MHz increase, .05 - .06v extra VCore is needed. You should be able to get a rough idea as to how much additional VCore will be necessary to move up the multiplier and CPU frequency.

First of all  TNX LINUXROUTER for this guide man, i finally understand the whole prosess..

I had a asus R2E and was never able to get it stable above 205 bclk, bsoded all the time whatever volts i used..

Got my self a Classified 3-way sli 760 yesterday and allready love this mother !

Got to 223 bclk with your guide..

Have a few questions also.. what is a safe VTT volt ? couse with 223 im allready on 1.57 volts in E-Leet altho i can lower my vcore a bit more..  i think im too high with the VTT :)
Also my VREG temp is 80 degrees !  Too high ?

Hope to hear from you soon ..

Again tnx alot

Looks great. Nice work.

VTT in my experience ends up being around 100-120mv less than what E-Leet reports. I think you are probably still okay with where you are at currently. What did you set VTT to in BIOS or E-Leet? Does the system become unstable if you try to lower VTT any?

The VReg temp is a bit on the high-side for the Classified. It might help to add a small fan to the VReg heatsink. My VReg temp generally does not go over 64C under load. I have a small 40mm fan blowing air over it.

Hey linuxrouter, do you have any idea of how to achieve a max uncore?

Recently I am trying to OC to 220bclk with 2:10 memory (4400 uncore) but never success. I have a set of CMG6GX3M3A2000C7 which was tested by a friend at his P55 MB. They run fine at 2200MHz (CL8). Meanwhile I just set the CPU multiplier to 12x (2.64GHz) and 8 copies of HCI Memtest were run. I got error from them quite randomly......

I'd love to tell more if further info is needed.

I followed your guide, and at some point i think around 218/219 i started getting freezes using LinX.. here i started raising VTT up to +300 to get 223 linx stable.. i used +350 for 225 and it was stable in linX but i didnt like my VTT volt of 1.71.. I think i had to stop at 218 and have only bumped my VTT +25/50 and leave it at that right ?

The Uncore is tied to VTT. You may have to make some adjustments there. Some chips handle the higher VTT better than others. I have one chip that does not like anything above VTT 1.375v and if I try to set higher, I get errors in Memtest86+. This limits my Uncore to about 4000 MHz with this chip. You might be running into something similar with your chip. Also, I would loosen the timings a bit initially. Start with something like 9-9-9-24-2T and then if you can get that stable, tighten up the timings to where you want them.

What kind of board do you have? If it is a Classified board, you can try setting QPI signal compensation to Less to see if that helps. You might also want to try increasing the PCI-E frequency several notches. Some people have said this helps with freezes at higher bclk. Also, PCI-E 106+ is where you may start running into some problems with your network ports.

Great Guide! Got a question though.

I have a few overclocks that are above 4ghz but they are pretty hot. Ive always used a 20+1 multiplier when going for high overclocks above 4ghz.

I need 1.375vcore for 4ghz with HT OFF and 1.4125 with HT ON. Do you think lowering the multiplier to  x19 or x20 would help me lower the temps on my two 4ghz overclocks?

The thing is i dont have any freezes when i increase VTT.. all other settings seem fine, just when i set bclk to 219 i freeze and when i increase VTT +25/50 it runns linx stable.. my question is how high can i go with VTT is it ok if i go +350 or 400 ?
If i can set +400 and i increase my cpu multi from 17 to 20 (offcource step by step) then i would have to increase Vcore asweel right ? and with 1.40 or so Vcore would give me 1.80 VTT.. am i right ? or can i lower VTT when i start raising vcore ?

For benchmarking, you should be okay with the higher VTT. However, I would not run 1.6v VTT for 24/7 use. I like to keep the VTT below 1.45v for 24/7 use.

If you find a stable configuration for higher bclk, I would leave those settings including VTT as is. Then with that configuration, you can increase the CPU multiplier and adjust VCore as necessary.

Thanks. I have compared both 191x21 and 210x19 and both configurations resulted in roughly the same core temps under load. I have found that in most cases the odd-value multipliers (17,19,21) allow for lowering the VCore a bit while maintaining stability.

Higher Uncore frequency will drive up the temps as well. I saw a 5-8C increase in cores temps from increasing the Uncore frequency from 3200 to 4000 MHz.

What are your load temps currently?

Well with HT OFF and 1.3625 vcore my temps are around 73c on the hottest core during LinX. I am using E-Leet for temp reference.

With HT ON I need to bump the vcore up to 1.4 and temps climb above 85c. (wonder how much better that corsair H50 would be compared to my Lapped TRUE )

I'm running a 2:10 divider. Uncore is around 3810mhz and my VTT is set to 1.45v

Bclck is at 191 x 21

This gives me 4ghz with my ram running at 1900mhz.  Ive tightened the timings to 7-7-7-18 @ 1.65 vdimm.

I've tested so many combinations, I pretty much know exactly where I can and cant go with my current cooling.

The temps seem a bit on the high-side. One of my systems has a TRUE + Ultra Kaze 3000-RPM and is set at 4.0 GHz (21x190) and with HT enabled. I keep this system fully loaded 24/7 and the temps are on average in the mid 60's with VCore measured at 1.36v at the testpoint. However, you do have the higher Uncore frequency, so that would account for some extra heat. I have my Uncore frequency set below 3200 MHz.

What is your ambient temp and case air flow like? Also, what TIM are you using?  I use Tuniq TX-2.

I have 4 Ultra Kaze's in my case. 1 on the TRUE. 1 for the Exhaust right behind my true.  1 on the side window blowing onto NB and cards. and 1 up front blowing into the TRUE. Ambient temps are below 72 degrees fahrenheit. I am using Diamond IC 24 carat TIM. Ive also used AS5. TIM doesn't make much of a difference if you apply it correctly. Maybe 1-2 degrees at most no matter how good it is.

It sounds like you have great airflow in your case with those fans.

If you have not already done so, you can try and set the PWM frequencies to 610/1200 and CPU impedance to Less. With these settings you might be able to lower the VCore a bit. At least one person told me he was able to drop his VCore two notches with the PWM changes.

Very true, any VTT over 1.55V will just bring me almost instant BSOD. Thx for your suggestions and I will give it a new year shot!!

Great guide!

Using it I was able to get 221 to pass 10 passes of Linx. I left the RAM for now and started upping the multiplier, 16 passed as well but 17 I keep getting BSOD IRQL_NOT_LESS... and the driver USBUHCI.SYS

I kept upping VCORE all the way to 1.4 but in less than 1 minute on LINX and BSOD

Any ideas how to get past this?

Im at a loss here..

Ive got it running @ 217x19=4123
Set my dominator GT C7 @ 9-9-9-24 x6
Uncore x16

Volts:

Vcore 1.35 load 1.28
IOH/ICH 1.50
ICH Vcore 1.125
QPI PLL 1.30
IOH PLL 1.80
CPU PLL 1.65
IOH Vcore 1.30
CPU VTT 1.45
DRAMM 1.65

This runns LINX ALL 20 passes

When i increase cpu multi to 20, i raise vcore to 1.40 and i cant boot into windows.. i raise it to 1.45 and it boots..
Linx crashes everytime, i tried upping vcore..tried upping IOH and QPI.. tried lowering and raising all PLL
Dont know what to do :/
