I think a lot of it has to do with how much RAM each level of card has, actually. purrrrrrrrrrrrr.

Yup everyone wants a new gpu atm, even tho new gen might just be around the corner. Technically they could be having an auction for each of them and people would pay way above msrp.

I should be editing a music video right now... but I can't until Jacob lets me buy a 1080 Ti card so you guys are all stuck with me for a while - Unless you all band together and sign the below petition:

Dear EVGA_JacobF,

A) Please bump up Dark Marauder's Forum status to Elite so that we don't have to put up with him babbling about his kitten for 3 more days.

Or,

B) Please just give him a 1080 Ti SC2 so he will go away now, It's worth the expense just to keep things bareable here on the user forums.

Sincerely, _______________________________(sign your forum name)

Most likely true. Props to EVGA for just listing them at their retail price.

I would not be so antsy to replace my R9 290 (please don't hate me) except that it is the bare minimum for my Oculus Rift which I just received as a birthday gift.

I know I'm willing to sign it, and my Kitten, which is 2, that's almost a movement.

Seriously, I'm going to try to edit some audio (I can do that on my puny little GTX650 1GB card and I'll just pop in here now and then to see if you have all signed the petition) back in a bit!

Question, are most of you guys gamers or do you have other more sinister uses planed for your GPU when you are able to snag one?

No worries I got my 1080ti cause I finally upgraded to a new gen monitor, which created a chain reaction of having to buy all hardware new. Granted it reached 9 yrs and still runs like a champ, but the mobo was just too old to handle the 1080ti.

Little bit of everything really. Game, video editing and design, but if you referring to cryptofarming then no.

What video editing software do you use or like. I've been using pinnacle ultimate which I love because its edit UI is easy, elegant and pretty well refined, but it's coloring is horrible and it bogs down on projects that are long or have lots of video tracks. so I've been trying to choose a new world. Premier Pro and Avid are just too expensive so I'm looking mostly at HitFilm Pro or DaVinci Resolve Pro both in the $300 range with no monthly hostages ;-)

Any thoughts?

Just noticed the $40 price increase on the ftw3 hybrid. I think the sc went up $40 too.

Well that's not much if you look at what 3rd party vendors are doing.

Adobe Premier Pro

Yeah, you and most the world  ;-)

If they had a Premier Pro/After Affects monthly bundle for $10 or $15, like they do with light room/Photoshop (which I use and love almost daily) I would totally do that, but to add premier pro to my existing subscription would be $20, and to get After effects would be another $20 and then I'm at their full on $50mo. Which really adds up. Software is expensive and I want to support the people who make it, but if I can't afford to, then I can't afford to.

HitFilm looks very interesting and I tried it but their timeline edit UI is pretty clunky. Resolve 14 looks very refined there, and is great for color/grading, but I can't even run it with my wimpy GPU which is really a "gpu" or just a "u" ;-) so I don't know if I'll really like working in it on longer projects.

Unless you absolutly must own a high end gpu for professional reasons, in which case Titan Xp or Titan V is your card, my humble recommendation is to ignore the daily stock reports and pay not a single penny over original msrp.

This is tech. Prices go down. The ROR for mining is going to nil and paying $1300-$1500 for a gaming gpu on a 1+ year old platform? I mean, if you truly have that type of $$$ go for it. But there will be a better, faster cheaper card in a few months.

The sane thing to do is wait it out. Just my $0.02

I used to mine. Now I compute.

The data refers to december 2017 / january 2018. Don't get me wrong it was just a consideration of mine, in the end like you say either we pay or not and me too I'm looking forward to get the graphic card soon.

By the way Mr. Jacob, could you please tell us europeans some news about the eu market stocks? I do thank you in advance.

Sorry I dont have any info on the EU stock right now but will check.

Personally, I just got an EVGA 1030 fanless and will wait for the new gen, which will be here soon enough.  I will be doing GPU passthrough, so I need a second GPU anyway.
