I must say, last days I laugh a few times because of people who invest in 600-700W PSU and now recognize they need stronger because RTX 3080.
I can't understand that people upgrade to SFX form factor and invest in 600W PSU instead of SFX700 and now buy again.
This new series is evidence that high-end PC should be powered with 1KW PSU.
You never know what will happen next 5-7-10 years during the lifetime of PSU.

What's going on? Some power spikes in high load?
There is a chance that NVIDIA pumps up beast because of the new AMD Radeon series.

So someone correct me if I'm wrong but are the dimensions on this actually smaller than the 2080 Super FTW3 Hydro Copper? That's what I currently have and was concerned the 3080 wouldn't fit in my case if it was larger, but comparing the product dimensions on the website the 3080 variant is actually slightly smaller. If so that will be great news for whenever I am actually able to get my hands on one!

It is interesting that the 3080 FTW HC is larger than the 3080 XC3 HC. I am not sure if this is because of the extra 8 pin or provides better cooling.

It was, but they sold out. From earlier posts, in December the notify button will become available again. At least, that's how it read.

eithe way. Watercool will have their FTW3 Ultra blocks also by beginning on December, and they'll cool better anyways.

Yep, I'm waiting on Aquacomputer myself. Always found their gpu blocks to be superior to others.

Agreed, but the Additional costs of a heatkiller versus 50 bucks for a HC is a factor.

All depends on which GPU.  FTW3s are taller than XC3 (reference).

FTW3s are always taller than reference designed GPUs because they have a beefed up PCB for more power and cooling as well.

On the other hand, RTX 3090s are monsters. lol

I like how the Notify system works so far. I've gotten two notifications, luckily it was do to timing & checking my email at an absolutely opportune moment, but it was far better than hitting F5 on a launch.

No it's still showing December, you have to look at the item itself and not view in the list.

I am looking at the item for the 3090 FTW HC and it shows only "Out of Stock"

I’m not clear on the RGB for the EVGA water blocks. Is the RGB controlled through PX1 only or can I connect via dRGB via my motherboard like EK? I would prefer to simply connect to the MB RGB or dRGB header to allow lighting that way.

Yeah. The kingpin shows the week it will start I think. The thing is, I don't have any interest in a hybrid. I have a nice Phobya 1280 supernova extreme external radiator keeping my CPU, GPU, and MOBO cool and quiet. Most of the time the fans are mostly off and the fluid sits at a nice 25C (4c above ambient). If I turn the fans on 40% the fluid will go to 1c above ambient. It is overkill, but it keeps my components cool.

Checked now and for 3080 H.C. (this topic obj) I don't see December. Only out of stock.
I will wait :(

Don't forget the cost of paste and the pads.  Although I think it'll still be a good idea to redo the TIM with some liquid metal.

Need to spamtribute 100 posts for Elite status to be able to get a KingPin because Jacob. My apologies in advance.

Who makes the Hydrocopper blocks? Safe to assume that the Hydrocopper blocks are of less quality compared to ek, heatkiller, and the like?

When is auto-notify happening? I need to replace two perfectly functioning 980HCs. No trade up on those. 3080HC + 5120x1440 = extremely happy me. The 980s rock about 45fps, but I want 60+. Oh, and also, thank you for the opportunity to order before the bots. Block the Bot!

This is the boat I'm in.  I recently rebuilt my rig into an under the glass desk top open case and my 1080ti buzzes like a mofo.  I'm on 7780x1440 and the 1080ti is getting long in the tooth.

Looks like this is going to be my reintroduction to Nvidia after many, many years (looks like even my old forums username from that time is coming back from the dead).

Just one thing about the XC3 card though... I'd be grabbing that instead of the FTW3 purely because the FTW3 with the water ports simply doesn't fit into an O11 Dynamic. Kinda bums me out a bit though given the 450W BIOS that I see EVGA putting out there for the FTW3 cards. So what is the power limit set at for the XC3, and how high could it realistically go with a theoretical alternate BIOS, given that there's going to be a water block slapped on top of those power stages? Anyone here happen to have pushed the XC3 to its limits?
