Varies on what coolant you use.. but mostly once a year flush the coolant out and refill. Don't use dyes as it will stain blocks rads and you res.

The initial cost is high but it's fine once you weigh in the fact that you can carry over the rad or rads, fans, pump and the res to a newer build it's not a big deal..alot of the time the cpu block can be also reused on a newer cpu as well.. or if anything one would need to buy an adapter for the newer mb socket.

Go with colored tuning if you want color.

It's very easy really and plenty of videos on YouTube to follow.

I just wanted to chime in and say I believe my 1080ti hybrid pump failed today as well. I'm not home yet to check but I logged on remotely and saw the temperature was 91c! and fans running at 100%. This was at idle, on the desktop, nothing running. Typically this card doesn't go above 51-54c at full load.

I just finished the warranty process for my evga 1080ti founders edition so if i have to warranty this one, that's a bummer. However, it's nice that evga offers replacements. Wish they would cover shipping though as it is $30 or so.

Side note: I've had this 1080ti hybrid for less than a month and have barely used it.

That story sounds mighty familiar.

I haven't had any experience with custom loops. How much maintenance does it require?

It's an endeavor the first time. I didn't see this card on the EK full block list so I just cut the lines it had an inserted a custom pump (D5 variant) and later a radiator. You're destroying your resale value and the warranty doing what I did.

I thought paying shipping was rough too for $2400 of cards.

I got the same issue. I have FTW3 Hybrid, i received the card 2 days ago first day everything was perfect but today I got GPU overheating issue (like hit the 90 degree) when i run the 3D Mark Benchmark.
I called the customer service they told me it is probable bubble or pump out. Thanks for them they will send me new one and i am going to send it back the old one. They are very friendly and helpfull.

Thanks Evga Customer Service

I got my Hybrid RMAd to Taiwan, and EVGA paid for it because it was within 30 days... but there's so many problems with them I really hope they make some major changes for the next series. On a brighter note the quality of the unit I got back was way better than the old one.

The pump on mine worked occasionally. Would have to restart a few times to get it working. Finally it stopped completely. EVGA is replacing it but I am going to be without a card for the next month or so. The rep told me there was no known issues with them after I mentioned this thread. Seems like there is a definite pump problem...

Update: The Pump died on the replacement 1080ti ftw hybrid.. Last about 3 months. Getting very tired of this.

I have a second 1080 ti, founders edition with the hybrid kit on it and that one has been going strong since release date. Not sure what's up with the 1080 ti ftw hybrids...

Hrmm well with the hybrid kit breaking FTW's and with this, it appears there might be a slight issue with the FTW line that no one wants to mention.  Makes me glad I got an SC2 Hybrid.  I hope you got the extended warranty.

Good luck!

Is there anything wrong with the hybrid kit for an Sc black edition? Was going to buy the hybrid kit for my card but now I’m paranoid..
