Got the same email from EKWB about the block for late December. It was confusing to say the least. I'm assuming its trying to say that the back plate was ready to go (cause its far easier to build) but the block itself was not, and needs more time to be ready. What confused me is the part about December, since the site originally stated Jan 6th as an estimated ship date. So have things moved up? Been delayed? Or is this just confirmation that nothing has changed, everything is still on time, just waiting on the blocks to be done?

I got the same as you, verbatim. Based on others getting the same email but with times in January I am hopeful the late December target is accurate! You and I got in on the pre-order pretty fast.
I do hope the GPU block is better than the EK distro plate I got and am about to pull out and send back. QC on that thing was pretty bad.
Here's hoping it's December! ..and I hope QC is good, thanks for the heads up, I'll be sure to test the block thoroughly before mounting it on the GPU.

Placed the order for my plexi ftw3 block and nickel backplate as soon as I could get through the lag on ek's site when the blocks launched. It stated estimated ship date around January 6th, luckily I haven't received a delay email....yet

I sent them an e-mail as well asking for clarification. When I ordered (Nickel Acetal & Black BP) it was 06 January and now they came back saying mid-January due to the volume of orders.
Not sure what happened there.

I got a response from EKWB: Thank you for reaching out.The block should be available for your order in late December. We were informed that by that time, the backplates will be available as well. As we've sent the e-mail to a number of customers with different FTW3 products on their order, we generalised the name of the product that is out of stock (EK-Quantum Vector FTW3 RTX 3080/3090 product/-s). I would go on the graphic card model compatible with the Watercool.de Heatkiller series.
EVGA XC3. Or EVGA Hydro Copper models.

Why do you not like EKWB? If you didn't hear, EVGA have delayed their Hydro Coppers because of quality control issues, that is not a good sign.

I sent them one message asking about the revised release date. One person responded saying Mid-January. A couple of days later I got a second message from someone else stating 21 January was the new date. Vlada011

I've always had good results with EK's Video Card WB's. No reason for me to consider anything else at this point.

On Tuesday my Swedish shop gets a shipment of the 3080/3090 FTW3 blocks and backplate if in time. With a bit of luck i get it just before the holiday starts or in the days before new year. that here is "normal workdays".
Order now date is beginning of february from same shop as the number of items of first shipment are sold out.
With EK:s shop when they open for preorder, date was 6 january, then late january a few days later and the added time and deliverycost on top of it that to make it cheaper and faster to get it more local made me hold off going to EK directly as i kind of felt some shops had a special "fast lane" to items as they are kind of "large customers" of EK.

February is probably right. I ordered my block early on 12/7 with ship date 1/6/21. Just checked my account. Order now says February 10 for ship date.

My order says February 11th. I got the email this past Tuesday saying end of December, but I guess that changed. I hope feb 11 is just some sort of placeholder or current estimate for orders being placed at this moment in time.

Yup my order says that too now... Estimated Delivery Date: 10 February 2021 ( nickel + plexi block and nickel back plate) I spoke to them and just 4 days ago and they confirmed the block and back plate should be available for my order in late December. Copy & paste: " The block should be available for your order in late December. We were informed that by that time, the backplates will be available as well." Hrmm. Hoping this estimated delivery date is just an error and the 10th February date applies to new orders entered today, not our orders from 7th December. I've emailed them back requesting clarification. Will let you know when I get a response.

I ordered mine the afternoon of release. Mine has now been updated to Feb. 11th - before it was a Jan 6th date. (nickel + plexi / nickel backplate)

Even Optimus might have some more out by then! Yeah if I can get a hydro copper first, that's likely what I'll do, and cancel the EK order.
