Thank you :)

I will do it if no one else does before I get mine.  Tracking says tomorrow but I have doubts.

I haven't forgotten.  I just haven't received it yet.  It was out for delivery 3 days ago and I have no reason to believe it will be here this week.  Some Yankee left their weather where I live and we aren't prepared to handle all this white stuff.  We should thaw out this weekend so maybe the FedEx fairy can get to my house next week.

Anyone has experience using 3080 FTW3 EK block, how is temperatures and other variables, mounting etc. ? I know Optimus is good, but for me tax/customs is a no go.
Thanks in advance!

Only with the 3090..  have it fitted, mount isn't the best and the gpu face machining is questionable, but its making contact, temps idle around 23/24 and on load clocked with 500w bios in flightsim or stress testing is around 50/52 degrees (this with 22/23 degrees room temp)  A benchmark in something like port royal is around 39/45 degrees for example.

@Tugin, No worries :) ive sanded down a couple of the mounts I kinda want to know what they are as standard so I can order some replacments, and also know how much sanding I can get away with on all 4 for a slightly tighter fit. (hopefully without cracking the card!)

I just bought a 3090 FTW3 Ultra, it was the only one that I could find, I did auto notify for XC3 at the same time but only got the email for the FTW3 Ultra and went ahead and bought it.

I didn't realize when I did there seem to be no waterblocks for this card or as far as I can tell any FTW3 cards

Is this true, if so who is making one and when would it be available?

Thanks

Sorry if this has been asked I did look but couldn't find info about this exact card

Forgive my complete ignorance of water builds, but I don't see why you would need a custom water block for a specific card.
As I see it, if you want to water cool the graphics card, don't you need to buy the cool looking one with the little holes?

True.

Waterblocks always come out much later than air cooled cards, so most people grab the air cooled cards and wait for a waterblock. Many manufacturers make cards to be either slightly or completely different than their competing manufacturers, so “we” end up having to hunt down the perfect waterblock to fit our cards.

Some manufacturers will make their own waterblocks, like EVGA does with the hydrocoppers, and others will team up with waterblock manufacturers and have a custom card block made to pair with the GPU from the GPU manufacturer directly. ASUS does this with EKWB, to make their preinstalled waterblocked cards.

It takes time for the waterblock manufacturer to get their hands on the stock cards to make their waterblock, so “we” typically look around frantically seeing which company will make their waterblock available first.

I had no idea.
What a huge frigging pain in the a**.
On top of another already huge frigging pain in the a**.
Geez, I hope the botters don't start botting the water blocks when they come out.

Of the three posts in the last few week there seems to be a very wide temps reported with these EK FTW3 blocks.

One 38c Max
One 52c
One 80c

Anyone else out there that got a block recently willing to share your deltas and temps?

Installed my EK block tonight on 3090ftw3 and temps are really bad rocketing into the 80s on the standard bios on flight sim, have removed and refitted it again removed thermal paste re-applied, at a loss at the moment something is a miss!!., historically used Aquacomputer blocks but their's is late coming so picked up what I could get my hands on..

Agreed those temps are bad. I installed mine at the weekend. Temps don't go above 38 with cpu on the same block.

Did you add all the thermal pads and also use the right screws?

Your temps sounds great.
What kinda stress is this? Game? Synthetic?
What’s your coolant temp when at 38c?? Would be nice to know to calculate the delta.

Yes sure max I can see some things like 15c abvoe the water.  My flow is reverse inside block so may be losing 1-2c cooling according to EK engineer.  Card him self drawing 500W so EK block seems fine.  Some guys talking about otpimus below 10c so may be value is good for that one.

Finally got the EK 3090 FTW Ultra Water Block installed ... not too difficult (and this was my first water-cooling build).  Temps are great and it looks really nice.

When you say only a couple, are they specific probes reading that?

Also, I changed your link for your post.

Make sure you get the link with .jpg at the end or it won’t work.

My temps are no longer in the 80s! but back down at a sensible level after fixing a blocked cpu block   now idle at 1 or 2 degrees above ambient and game in the high 20s to mid 30s in most games, with the exception of cyberpunk and flightsim which can push it upto 53/54 (with a big overclock).. The backplate still wants to cook an egg tho, EK's backplate doesnt do a good job of cooling the ram on the reverse side.

PortRoyal is 14876 *(I have an old 8086k!)

Sadly my EVGA FTW3 3090 gave up the ghost only 2 months after purchasing.

My temps using the EK block and backplate were around 30-35 idle and 50-60 under load. (Also cooling 5900x)

Liquid temps were around 25/30 ish

Currently RMAing and waiting for replacement.

Did you figure this one out? looks like you missed one the thermal pads for a memory chip on the front of the card (there's only icx temp sensors for front, not back memory), I used primochills 17W/mK pads instead of the one ekwb provides....memory stays very cool for front and back...back still much warmer though....need to figure out an active cooling solution..

EK released a watercooled backplate that works with Vector blocks. let us know how your sandwich tasted.

Can't figure out how to put links in but there are a few articles

actually I don't think it works on the FTW.  seems only factory pcb

Finally got the EK 3090 FTW Ultra Water Block installed ... not too difficult (and this was my first water-cooling build).  Temps are great and it looks really nice.

Does the ftw3 with the ek block fit inside the case with the glass panel close? I've read several post about this problem and a lot of people said that the max block depth for the o11 xl is 153.3mm (the block for the 3090 in this case is 154.5mm)

I will take a look this weekend. thanks for the advice here on where the ram might be.

Did you get a chance to look into this? I just noticed a similar problem with my identical waterblock, except it was hitting 99'C on the same two components. I followed the pad placement instructions to a tee, dreading to disassemble haha
