Hope u reply Just saw this... give me 4-5mins and I'll post up a fix for you CPU: Athlon II X3 450 at 3.2 Ghz RAM: 3gb DDR2 400 This is whats causing the FPS drops... not really much you can do there. I suggest that you -drop- some settings to free up more CPU for the game.... A little less eye candy and less frame drops Also your config will really perform better in regular maps, as B2K and CQ map "destruction" will really tax your CPU... Try and play in servers with lower player counts, as the more players there are the more CPU it takes to keep track of them, 24 players or below would work best.... Give those settings a try bro Oh... and welcome to the EVGA forums

There is little if anything to throw money at with such a setup bro...... it just to old. $400 is getting close to what you would need for a brand new MB/CPU and RAM. I would keep saving money for a total new system upgrade If you want you could also post a separate thread with your -exact- complete system specs... And see what other users here could suggest

maniacvvv gamernut78 OK i'm back to report something i didn't even know. My preset actually had NO AA on at all and SSAO on and Motion Blur was on. Weird? I didn't pay attention til i actually realized that. Textures are on ULTRA and everything else medium. So what i did now is set to custom and left everything on and AA is off and i set Motion Blur off and my AF was previously set x8 so i pushed it to x16 and NO ssao and hbao. Such a shame really cuz i like HBAO or SSAO. Shouldn't i be ok to play all ultra or some should be HIGH like shadows and Post Processing? Choose the "High" preset, save changes and resume into the game... Hit escape and bring up the Video options Make sure "Texture Quality" is set to HIGH Make sure "Deferred Antialising" is set to OFF Make sure "Motion Blur" is set to OFF Make sure "Ambiant Occlusion" is set to OFF Save the changes, and resume the game.... then EXIT and QUIT the game completly. Restart for the changes you made to take effect. his I know this is a old post of yours but i have a SSD now but does that affect anything i should change in my graphics or should i keep the same settings you recommended in the past? i5 760 2.89ghz mild overclock due to memory tuning. Hi maniacvvv, what can you say about the latest nvidia beta driver 304.48? Though you previously mentioned that the current best driver for BF3 is 301.42WHQL, I still need your personal opinion on the current beta. This might be my first post on EVGA forum, but I frequently visit this thread for info regarding BF3. Thanks!

Ignaliza Hi BF3 superhero jaja, do u know what else can I do? i still get many fps drops to -20 :/ Hope u reply :) With that CPU and only 3gigs of RAM..... You would want to focus on making your "Boot to Desktop" as clean as possible This means making sure that -nothing- loads at boot that is not needed. Do a fresh boot to the desktop and open Task Manager What you want to see, is the fewest processes and lowest memory footprint *In my example above, its 37 total processes, zero percent CPU use and 14% of my installed ram Now it gets alittle tricky... you have to know "what" is important and what is not. Use the MSCONFIG (Startup Tab) and take a screenshot of everything that is Checked and host it, then post a link here with the www. part missing, and I can look it over and suggest things to turn off for testing

If your only playing BF3 and using a 500 series card, I still suggest 301.42 But that does not mean you cant try 304.48 and test it out, remember everyones config is unique and you might have better performance. My SLI 580's did not like the beta and I took it off after one map of BF3... -BUT- Its always worth testing Nvidia sets to see what works best for your config and installed games.

You just cant be loading that kind of junk, you do NOT have the memory or horsepower.

@Ignaliza You mentioned before a $300-400 worth of upgrade. Judging from your current system I'd say upgrading your RAM is the cheapest and effective way to reduce sudden hiccups and frame drops. After that, a 64bit Windows 7 is needed to support that 4Gb and up memory size. My 2nd system which only had 2Gb DDR2 of memory, upgraded to 4Gb DDR3 made great improvements in performance specially on large maps and 64/64. @maniacvvv Installed and currently using the latest 304.48BETA and spotted no noticeable difference in BF3 performance but Diablo 3 is performing better and smoother. Many thanks for your advice!

DDR2 should be crazy cheap now. And you dont NEED the 64 bit, but 32 bit cant handle more than 3GB of RAM, so you should probably install 64 bit anyway and up the RAM to 4GB+. He was mainly saying (I had the same issue with all the running things as you) that you dont have enough RAM to be running all those things at startup to begin with

Ignaliza ok, thank you all, if i change the mb, cpu, ram and hdd, can i keep the gtx460? will the games run good? If you upgrade all those items... you will probably want a better videocard and a new PSU. There are some very nice deals on 1155 socket MBs, 2500K's are cheap and DDR3 ram costs next to nothing. Like I said, $400 is a great start and would get you all the above... but then you would want a better videocard for a game like BF3 and would probably need a new PSU to power all that. If I were you, I would save up another 300-$400 dollars and then you would have a great setup
