Hey. Having some trouble over here. Just got my card back from RMA. Got BF3 Premium and I'm having driver crashes whenever I play any games. Watching movies or stress tests are fine. Any suggestions?

Any suggestions? What driver version are you using? and what in-game settings? Have you tried a driver reinstall after putting the RMA'd card back in?

Prokill can anyone help with my above mentioned issue ? I have tried to point you in the correct direction http://forums.evga.com/fb.ashx?m=1641677 You "appear" have a few issues going on First off you are using the Oct 2011 BF3 release driver. This driver has all kinds of bugs and issues in BF3 and lacks just about ALL of the bug fixes and driver improvements that have been released by Nvidia since then. You need to -correctly- install Nvidia 301.42 (best BF3 driver to date) before working on your problems. Once you have the proper driver, you will then need to -completly- clear out your browser files and fully update your Adobe flash. You have yet to describe exactly what you are "doing" when Tab/Alting out of BF3 that is leading to a crash. *You cannot expect to use this feature (Tab/Alt) when running SLI'd with BF3 loaded and have it work for viewing Videos or heavy Flash pages, as this is asking to much of your config, memory and graphics card..... Due to the way BF3 runs out of Battlelog (web) and Origin (web) it does NOT behave as other games when using Tab/Alt because of the browser based background programs used. As for your "loading" crash issue, this is a KNOWN bug with that old driverset you are using, that was fixed with a patch to the Nvidia driver. Using 301.42 should fix that.

If you say alt tabing has issue then why can i do it 100% with these drivers without an issue ? I don't mean to sound cocky here but i have tried the drivers ur suggesting and have just had the same error time and time again along with the 1st load crash. But as i said ill try again, thanks for the help thought

I would look carefully at your background process loading at boot, as you may have some unneeded items could cause problems. Try a reboot to the desktop. How many processes are loading at boot and how much system memory are they using? Also you mention using a SSD, when you reinstalled the OS, did you properly "Secure Erase" your SSD before doing so? What page file size are you using? Are your CPU, system memory or videocards overclcoked. and if so have you tested at stock? Are you using the primary Admin account? Do you use a password for it when logging in at boot? What settings are you using in the NVCP? What in-game (BF3) settings are you using? What display do you have and are you running it a Native res and refresh rates? To help further understand your possible issues, you should post your -complete- system specs and details

Okay installed the new drivers Will do some testing, will look through my processes. Maybe i should explain my old SSD (Vertex 3 240GB) crashed and i replaced it with a (Agility 3 240GB). No i did not do a Secure erase didn't think it was needed i did however updated it to the same firmware that my Vertex used. MY CPU is OCed to 4.2ghz and i have tried it at stock (Didn't help) My GFX cards are factory OCed i have lowered to Stock (Didn't help) My screen is a P27770 i am running it at its native res (1920x1080) Thing is all this hardware is the same as before i had the 1st load issue, the 1st load issue has only started since the format, but the DirectX issue has been even since before.
My full System specs: CPU: i7 950 (4.2ghz) MB: Asus Rampage 3 extreme GFX: 2x GTX 580 Hydro Copper 2 PSU: Corsair AX1200 RAM: 12GB Partiot LLG memory Screen: 2x P277OH (Not i dont use multi screen) HDD: OCZ Agility 3 (BF3 and OS installed) What else you need? edit: Just figured out that the 1st load crash could that be being caused by my newish sound card (Asus Xonar D2X) but again this issue didn't exist before my format.

I know this may sound funny.... But when you choose a server, the Game Manager box will come up with messages as the server is contacted and connected.... Wait till you see the message "Loading Map" and then hit the BF3 icon in the lower lefthand taskbar. *This has been KNOWN to fix the the "first load" crash (and some other issues) for many users Worth a try

I personally use a Death Adder, love it.... with proper adjustments "lift off" is unneeded. But mice functions are very subjective, and you should use -whatever- works best for you and your style of mouseplay

Hey all - I got BF3 today along with premium (BF3 didnt come with karkand, so premium was worth it for me), but consistently crashes to the desktop. When this happens, the game is still running, but the only way to end it is with ctrl-alt-delete, but whenever I try to do that, my computer freezes on a black screen and I need to do a hard reset. BF3 is the only game this happens too, and I dont know what's going on. It also freezes to a black screen sometimes before I try ctrl-alt-del. I once got a message that Windows Desktop Manager ended as well. All sorts of weird issues. Any idea? Thanks specs are in the sig

ARchamps Hey! I'm planning to reformat as I'm getting a new motherboard. Can I copy my bf3 folder and paste it over to save myself from having to redownload all the patches? Thats a good question, I dont really have a good answer for you. If you were smart enough to "save" the BF3 downloads/patches/DLC after installing them (a Origin option) then those files (installers) may be "reused" to patch and update. As for the original primary install, I just dont know. I personally wouldnt risk it on a new build, I would reinstall Origin fresh on a clean formatted drive and re-download the game, and then just copy the (contents) of the "Update" folder (after the install and the path has been rebuilt) with the latest Patch, and X files (for me, thats about 14+gigs saved out of a 21gig install). To much chance of PB or something else going wrong... But thats just OCD me, you could certainly try to copy it over, but if -anything- goes sideways I would reformat and start over, its only about 22gigs.

alright guys. happy to report NO ISSUES AT ALL FOR THE PAST 45 minutes/2.5 rounds!!!thats like 5 times longer than normal lol. What I did was uninstall java, and I bumped the voltage on my cards, and took the GPU OC off. I'll try to put the OC back on and see if that was the issue and not java. if so, I'll just revert to stock profile for BF3 :thumb:

*I posted this in your 500 series thread Uninstall Eleet before you destroy your system and videocards. The program is for EVGA motherboards/Bios ONLY Something is clearly going on that you do not understand.... Sounds like one card "might" have a custom BIOS flash for voltage -OR- your Afterburner is screwed up... Given the SS you posted in the BF3 thread... your Afterburner is having a conflict and is showing errors... STOP before you damage your hardware Run your cards at stock defaults and start working on your issue with your videocard monitoring software.

ok. I uninstalled E-LEET only reason I was using it was cause I saw it in Jacob's thread on flashing new 580 firmware.

crazyg0od33 ok. I uninstalled E-LEET only reason I was using it was cause I saw it in Jacob's thread on flashing new 580 firmware. Dont even think of flashing --when the cards are not correctly working--- and you are having somekind of monitoring software conflict. Looks to me like one card has a higher default VID than the other. Since your Syncing them in Afterburner, the other card is running soft. No way to really tell, since you appear to have a software conflict that is affecting your monitoring software. Until you get your monitoring software issues fixed, you should avoid making voltage or BIOS changes. Doing so with a existing issue (which you appear to have) can lead to serious problems and/or hardware damage.

I didnt flash lol. I already have the latest firmware. I was trying the whole "bump voltage" thing poeple say to do to keep battlefield running stable, and it worked, but they arent the same voltages. I really dont know what else to do at this point if I have a software issue. That's not really solvable.

What you really need to do is reboot and (without doing anything) look over your processes, services and TSR's on a clean boot to the desktop.

ok. just as a note, when looking under precision (legacy) voltage controls - I didnt change anything, but it lets me if I want - My GPU1 is @ 1.15625V and GPU2 is @ 1.12500V Both are the values of "NV VDD (3D)" Voltages. all other values are the same
