P55FTW i7875K 8GB RAM 3x27" LED SAMSUNG

If the 27in Samsung's are at 1920x1080 then GK110's would be awesome...
You would need to overclock that i7 875K to close to 4ghz, running it at stock would bottleneck 2 GK110's
*Your 480's should do OK in BF3 with the correct settings, but it appears you have a temp issue...
I would work on getting your GPU temps undercontrol while your waiting
What software are you using for GPU fan control and what exact case are you using?

What settings should I use at 1920x1080?

2500K@4.4
8gb sys ram
Corsair 64gb SSD with Bf3 installed on it. 1tb WD black drive as storage
Galaxy 560 2GB X 2 SLI
XFX pro850 psu.

Running all high with high fxaa, no blur, no msaa, no ssao or hbao. Sound on hifi.

So far the settings are ok with a min fps of about 70. Would enabling HBAO kick it below 60? Is there a setting I could change to allow for hbao? Say use all medium + hbao? Thanks

I'd lower the FXAA to Medium so it doesn't blur out textures that much.

Also, why not Ultra? The FPS difference won't be more than 5fps to be honest. Other than that, I think you could kick HBAO and still get above 60fps on those cards, if not, try overclocking them a bit.

Test with the below settings

The FPS performance hit using HBAO will be for you to decide. Use the above settings and see what it like...
Then just turn OFF HBAO and go test again.... its up to you bro

Ok I will try medium fxaa + hbao. I will try ultra if it looks like the fps is ok but I really feel it when the fps goes below 60.  You sure about high fxaa? I really don't want anything blurred.

I really just want the clearest image I can get with this setup. Blurry and laggy do not make me a happy soldier at all.

Thanks!

Try the -exact- settings I posted for you bro

*and dont forget.. you MUST make the changes then save them, then completely close the game and then restart it for the settings changes to take effect and the shaders to rebuild at the new settings.

Maniac, just something you may not know, AntiAliasing Post on High sucks, it blurs out the textures and whole image way too much.

I recommend using Medium instead, as it looks sharper and clearer. Other than that I agree with the settings you gave him.

That happens on your system due to the monitor you are using and its screen res, high pixel count and slower IPS panel responce time.

For most users with modern monitors and 1080p (or below) the blur effect is barely noticable as long as MSAA is not being used.

As noted in my guide, users should test this setting for what works best and personal taste

I recommend that users test their settings, for what works best for them.

As noted, only when FXAA -and- MSAA are both used is the effect dramatic.
Or if you are using a dense pixel monitor, or one with a very slow responce time.
Which is why I recommend using one or the other, but not both at the same time.

Yeah right now I use MSAAx4 and leave FXAA disabled, big performance hit but having 2x GTX680's I can afford it and still average 90-120fps at 2560x1440 with some drops to 70s.

Maniac,

how I do run BF3 on 1080p 3D at 60 Hz? Do I need a 120 Hz 3D monitor??
I can run 1080 just at 24Hz on my plasma tv...

Your config-->GTX 560 Ti SC + Phenom X4 965 BE 3,4 Ghz + 4Gb RAM

Please post the -exact- make and model number of the monitor you are using

running 3D requires special glasses, a emitter and a monitor that supports 120hz
*It also requires some serious graphics horsepower to run properly

I don't think the changes I make are actually happening. I was driving along on caspian and the damn fence was being drawn almost right beside me? That is on your rec settings! Also, there is blur like HBAO is not enabled? Weird...

Game looks like it is stuck on medium or low settings to me.

Try dropping the in-game "Effects" setting a notch and TURN OFF HBAO...
Test and see what the results are

I not only restarted the game. I rebooted. I think it was the display though. Went back to CRT and the game runs better on it. I still seem to get the same performance no matter the resolution. Weird. Same settings, different resolution, same fps. Hell, I hit 45 fps on 1600x1200! That is nuts.

Most likely a connection releated issue on your end.
I would check your background processes for internet users., test your ISP performance to a known location and then try a reboot.

Such things happen on holiday weekends bro, due to congestion.

At this time no changes are suggested
It appears that 301.24 is working in BF3 as well as or better than 285.79 or 296.10

I recommend Nvidia 301.24 beta

The only tweak for SLI is you keep a very close eye on the VRAM use
While higher in-game "Texture Quality" settings can be used (as noted in my guide) each setting has a defined texture pool size. If you set texture quality too high, you will increase the texture streaming load.

If you have 1gig 460's... "try" and use the HIGH setting... but if you see it say over 985mb, drop it a notch.
if you have 768mb versions... use MEDIUM

Crank it

FXAA is shown maxed, with MSAA off... this is a personal choice.
Your 680 can do either setting maxed or even both (I do not suggest running both maxed, due to the haze effect.)
Test and see what you like best!

the 680 is a perfect card for BF3 at 1080p, enjoy bro

What settings would you recommend for my system?

i7 2600k @ 5GHz + 8GB G-Skill Ripjaws X 1600MHz CL7 + 2x GTX680 SLI.

I play at 1920x1080 and 2560x1440, vram is not an issue on either resolutions even with MSAAx4.

Should I be using FXAA High instead of MSAA? can you post a screen of what settings I should use?

Thank you in advance.
