Does anyone know if there is an aftermarket or EVGA backplate available for the early 3080 XC3's that came without a backplate?
Does EVGA sell one I can add to the card?

Help is appreciated!

Thanks

you can get one of those v1 backplates or see if anyone is selling the backplate off their 3070/80/90. they're all the same.

What do you mean by V1 backplate?

I've searched ebay and other sites and had no luck in finding one so far.

    Thanks!
I did look at that one, but I really want the aluminum backplate for heat dissipation.

Yeah they don't sell it alone. I found one on eBay but the seller doesn't have any more. You don't need heat dissipation on a 3080 xc3. They have nothing on the backside creating heat. The aluminum would more likely hold heat in.

Aluminum DOES dissipate heat and the heat from the memory chips does conduct it's heat to the back of the pcb. So you would want some thermal pads in the area of the memory to transfer the heat to the aluminum backplate and have good airflow in your case that would push air across the backside of the video card. This does work as I did it with my RTX 3080 Ti XC3 card, just had to add the thermal pads as the card already has the backplate.

Yeah that’s why I want one. Putting thermal tape on the back does help. Dropped my VRAM temps over 10°-15°C.

Mine was around 10°C, but every little bit helps with the GDDR6X memory. No idea where you're going to find one. Back in the GTX 580 days, EVGA used to sell backplates and a "high flow" pci slot brackets on their site.
