Added a Cosmic mat to my setup the tiles I have are kind of beating on my desk chair wheels. So Asus had something reasonably priced that looked nice, goes with my setup so said why not. Also have a Samsung 980 Pro and 990 Pro 2tb to put into my pc at some point.

Reminds me of the SAS motto, "He who dares, wins",
or something like that .

TY RJ, glad its done, and kind of bummed nothing EVGA at this point on my personal setup. Got some extra storage over prime day that is just sitting there... I really need to put windows 10 or the non 22h2 of 11 on one of the m.2's so I can get my 37-39k 3DMark Score. Just have no motivation to rip my pc apart again.

Those are impressive M.2 SSDs for sure. Sadly I have nothing from EVGA in my rig right now. First time that has happened for years. I will be doing a minor upgrade soon myself.

" Just have no motivation to rip my pc apart again."      Excellent new drives, donta1979 !
I know what you mean .  I just did that, and it came out good IMHO, but I don't want to do it again right away .  Like you, I did want to put some more storage in though,
so I ordered a NOS 1TB gen 3 PCIe NVMe SSD add-in card to  put in an available gen 3 PCIeX4 slot on my board .  Just take off one case side panel, take out one back
grill screw, and plug it in, no wires, no removing GPU, heat sinks, ect.  I wonder if there is a PCIe slot add-in adapter card that could handle those SSD you've got ?

My GPU and support bracket would have to come out, so moving of some wires. Then I have to clean the glass again if I do not wear white handling gloves. Then put it all back together, not going to unplug the gpu not a fan of having that gen5 cable messed with at all. The more you mess with it the more apt something will happen.

Yep, I see what you mean .  When I put in my add-in card ssd in I'm going to be so lazy that I'm not even going to un-hook the back cables .  I'll just work on it while laying on the floor .
I will shut it off, I guess :)
You reminded me of that gen5 cable melting thing I had heard about, so I took a look at it on gamers nexus .  Glad I didn't need to use mine that came with the new EVGA gen5 1000W PSU
I just installed in the "new" computer .  It still has the EVGA 3090 FTW with three 8 pin connectors .  Lot's of bulky wire, but apparently it's needed .

Is that going to be your backup machine, or your show case machine ?
BTW, MODS RIGS show case page seems to be down .

I do not even want to think about gently taking out my 4090 and not removing the cable, while removing the m.2 plates to swap out m.2's haha. I also have a correction bracket I am going to regret not installing when I built the pc... So at that time is when it will happen...

In other news with all the windows 11 22h2 updates, my razor mouse would randomly stop working, and I noticed my Razor Samuri mouse pad was falling apart already... So Razor I am done with and will not buy again between all the death adder cheap omeron switches going out, a naga bricking itself due to a bad firmware release update, 2x megalodon 7.1 usb headsets not receiving a fimware update making both ewaste, a Blackwidow II wireless keyboard randomly disconnecting, them not releasing a firmware update for their Barracuda X 2020 or 2021 headsets so you can leave the dongle plugged in on startup and have it work. Yeah putting them under cheap overpriced janky products. Got an ROG Harpe Ace Aim Lab Edition mouse to replace the razor Viper pro cyberpunk 2077 mouse, and an aim lab edition mouse pad that was half the cost plus better quality than razors 50 dollar mouse pad.

Well, after getting asked a for pictures of my build/office from Secretlab, well they hit me up since I had not done it yet. Had a lot going on. Took today to get my office straight and took well over 50 pictures for them to use. Guess they want to feature it for their Cyberpunk 2077 chair/desk products with Phantom Liberty coming out. Was hoping ASUS would bite to send me a hyperon That I was going to fully break down, paint with yellow/black + line art, homemade stencils the works to have an all ASUS build, but they brushed me off oh well. So my setup will be in the Lian Li Dynamic 011 EVO. Here are just a couple pictures.

I hate paying too much for stuff that breaks even if it's "special" .  It's not impressive, but I buy logitec wired stuff .  It's cheap, and it usually just won't die, and it's just about
universally compatible, with no drivers .  Had a little trouble with Windows 11 22H2 myself .  My task bar search thing stopped working .  Very annoying .  Tried all the
internet cures, no dice .  Ended up uninstalling all my programs, and doing a full Windows reset .  Then it worked again .  Been reinstalling, and trying "search" after each .
So far, so good .  Time consuming, but worth it 'cause I use that search thing quite a bit, and Windows seems to work a little better all-around now .  Boots just a little faster, too .
Also, I took the opportunity to install the Cyberpunk 2077 game as a stand-alone with the downloaded files and offline-installer from GOG .  At first it would not work,
and I thought I might have to install GOG galaxy again, but by using Windows compatibility trouble shooter, I fixed it :)  First time the trouble shooter has completely worked for me .
It's better to be lucky, than good !

I recently upgraded my PC with iCue-Link.

The cyberpunk theme looks great. I'm glad Secretlab took notice.

Re: Do not even know what to name this... 2023/10/09 21:13:51 (permalink)
Well will be changing cases again, I want a full tower... Gave up on the EVGA DG-87 really wanted one had some wild plans to modify it oh well. I really love the Lian Li Dynamic 011 EVO, what I do not like is I have so much jam packed into it... It makes it a pain to get to anything to add in or swap out m.2's support bracket has to come out and that is painful to remove, fans sometimes need to come out. Have a couple m.2's I want to put in but have not done it just because of having to take apart part of my pc. Then if I need to open up the back its a nightmare of moving all the cables that are jammed in the back from my excess sleeve cables, to all the fans connected into the fan/argb powered hub box.
So I bought a Asus Rog Hyperion, the cooling with just the standard 4x 140mm fans that come with it, cools just as good as my 6x EK 120mm fans blasting into my case.
Had a buddy live stream cyberpunk 2077 for me the same settings. DLAA+Ray Tracing Overdrive"Path Tracing"+Frame Generation, same exact hardware, just he has the Hyperion. The case passed with flying colors to my standard.
Sooo here we go again first full sized tower for myself in over a decade. It is on sale right now by the way 389 on newegg and like 409 in other places.

ROG Hyperion GR701 | Cases | ROG United States (asus.com)

Also CDPR got me again... I may not have enough room on my walls but I do have a bit more room on my desk for the latest editions from Phantom Liberty.

Personally I like the Corsair 7000 series for a full tower. The ROG Hyperion is big but I don't like the front of the case. Looking forward to seeing your build in the new case.

I wanted something that looked unique, plus the cooling with just 4x 140mm fans is amazing.
I had my friend like I said play Cyberpunk with DLAA+RT OD+RG with everything set to pyscho/max. Identidcal system to mine just he already has the Hyperion. Its 4x140mm fans that come with the case cool a the Rog Strix OC 4090 as much as my Lian Li Dynamic 011 with 6x EK fans. The front of the Hyperion may look odd but with only 3x of the stock 140mm fans that comes with it. That design helps get int a ton of air. Sadly due to him streaming it to me frame time and fps have dropped a bit.

Didn't want to a wait a month for the psu, so cancelled that part of the order. Selling my lian li case, the fans in it, aio, psu, my spare 3080 12gb FTW3 Ultra Gaming  all for 690 to a friend, he just has to buy me lunch when I work on his two pc's and do the spray expanding foam insulation in my attic. Ordered a Rog Thor II 1200w, I can still have my card boost up to 3015mhz on it's own. Unfortunately I won't be ocing my cpu if I want to stay in that psu's specifications and ratings going over 1.4-1.5v+ vcore will be a big no no. Just hope I do not regret going down to a 1200w again and not biting the bullet on the Rog Thor 1600w.
with my 12900kf and 13900k with my 3090 TI FTW3 Ultra Gaming, with a ton of fans, like my pc is setup now I killed a asus/evga/corsair/seasonic 1200w quality psu's with my entire system full of fans/lighting/storage everything else. This case will at least cuts out most of those fans out of the equation, plus the supplemental fan/argb powered hubs will be gone.

Kind of crazy seeing my pc transform even my office when I finally decided to upgrade in 2021 being forced to buy a built to order during the shortages.

This weekend the final changes will be complete, unless ASUS and Noctua get their collaboration moving forward on the 120 + 140mm ARGB fans, I may have to get 4x EK FTP Link 140mm fans.
One more thing for my office

12pm-2am, fully broke down my Dynamic EVO, put cleaned up the ic Diamond, put on my correction bracket finally, put in my other two m.2's. Had to watch a youtube video because the instructions well yeah... no English with important stuff missing. IC Diamond 24 spent a good hour slowly spreading a thin layer over the cpu lid so it was thin enough and even. My office went into shambles... Temps are amazing and pc is a lot more silent wattage is way down. Luckily it fired right up. Now just have to finish putting it together and well get my office back in order again.

Has a ton, properly fits up to EATX even something like asus's Maximus Extreme board. The whole thing comes pre cable managed already like maingear did it, very little has to be taken apart/fought with out of the box. Cooling is on par with my Lian LI Dynamic 011 EVO with 12x 120mm 2,300RPM high cfm/RPM fans without the noise. I have not purchased a case this well thought out, with every bell and whistle you could ask for since the founder of Voodoo PC designed his last case at HP, the HP Blackbird 002 w/Voodoo DNA.

Well office picked up, looks awesome on my desk. I will fix the 24 pin at some point its wired kind of strange. A normal comb does not work nor the combs that came with it. I may get a full set of the pro cablemod carbon cables for my psu not sure yet.

In cyberpunk 2077 Max out at like 778w letting my gpu boost full blast with asus's restrictions removed. CPU at stock 5.5ghz 2x cores at 5.8ghz. 3440x1440 DLAA+RT OD"PT"+FG everything set to psycho/max. Glad I didn't get the Rog Thor 1600w psu, with less fans, less everything plus I am no longer really ocing hard it is really not needed at all. I could had gotten away with a 1000w but wanted to leave myself some room for time really am going to ride this pc out as long as I can.

I'm just glad it's about to a spot I can say it's about done... thinking of the cablemod Pro carbon cables but only want their 24pin and 2x cpu cables. I do not want the pcie's/molex/sata cables.
