Lookin good. 😎

I'm just glad it's about to a spot I can say it's about done... thinking of the cablemod Pro carbon cables but only want their 24pin and 2x cpu cables. I do not want the pcie's/molex/sata cables.

Those cables would look nice for sure. 👍

yeah the thing is the psu already came with individually sleeved cables just need the right combs, I do a gree the Cablemod ones would look so much better in it.

Temps are not horribly bad but not as good as they used to be. I May try Kryonaut Extreme on the AIO. It's no Nucleus Lux, but looks cooler haha.

I was just DMed today by someone from ASUS USA. Apparently they will feature my pc at some point on their live FB feed. Starting to think Secretlab went on vacation lol

Re: Do not even know what to name this... 2023/10/22 14:22:00 (permalink)
wow server ate my edited post... a second time smh.

Ok I am sticking with the cablemod sleeved cables that they made for ASUS for the PSU, the combs asus included from cablemod are the classics and not compatible with how they have their 24pin wired. So bought a set of cablemod pro combs. Just tired of ripping pc's apart. I would have to really open it up to put those cables in.

So I double checked the correction bracket, redid the tim with this new ASUS Ryujin III 360 AIO, I had to take it off after the first tim, because a screw got lodged under the AIO. The AIO is ok but it is no EK Nucleus Lux 360 not by a long shot.
Here is from intial idle to Cyberpunk 2077 DLAA+RT OD"PT"+FG everything set to psycho/max

Here is 3DMark Time Spy

Here is letting it really sit at full idle to cool after being pushed.

Here is Cyberpunk 2077 before RT OD was a thing, 12 other games and 3DMark Time Spy on the EK Nucleus Lux in my Lian Li Dynamic 011 EVO case over six hours. True idle and the max the cpu hit. It is not a fluke even 3DMark reported a super low temp for my cpu package from stock to 6.1ghz.

I have also noticed Armorycrate while awesome when all your products are asus that leads to zero conflicts and the app working correctly. I have noticed the ARGB control for it locks my CPU in at 5.5ghz at 1.28-138 Vcore, the cpu is no longer able to manage itself properly, 5.8ghz is a unicorn clock to show up that hardly happens when ARGB is on, package temp goes up by 8-15c. It's like the cpu can no longer fully control itself with ASUS's ARGB suit running controlling everything.

While I love my EK Elite 360 there is the rule of cool, and the ASUS Ryujin III 360 ARGB cools good enough not to thermal throttle a 13900k at stock while looking awesome in my case. Asetek really needs to step up their game honestly... EK is slaughtering them and everyone else in AIO cooling performance market with their proprietary designs from their actual water cooling pumps/kits.

Well finally found the Cyberpunk 2077 controller stand/charger for my cyberpunk 2077 controller. Got it NIB not at the scalper price of 200-300.

I just wanted to play Cyberpunk with RT at the start. That turned into a theme, the game getting it's tech upgraded, so me upgrading, to the theme mutating to my office. Just trying to get all the performance I can in Cyberpunk 2077 with all of its new visual tech while looking cool. I do not have it in me to take it apart again swap out the cables, do custom art on the case. Looks like it fits and belongs in my office without me doing a thing. I may get some EK FPT Link 140mm D-RGB fans for it later if Noctua fails in the argb fan partnership with asus. I would like to find a place that can do a custom art inner plate for the ARGB that covers the 3x 120mm fan slot by the board. Loving the build, sadly CDPR's latest update 2.02 may have fixed some issues, but DLAA with RT OD I lost over 20 fps and gained about 10 on my latency... Am thinking it's one of two things, they messed up because hardly anyone can run the game at my settings smoothly, or they are working with nvidia again for newer cards coming in a year...

Re: Do not even know what to name this... 2023/10/31 18:28:56 (permalink)
donta1979, you certainly have achieved your goal, and then some .  Your setup is fantastic, but it had to be allot of work,
so now you deserve a break :)  Everyone must save some energy, and money, for the new intel 15th gen processors
that will need new motherboards with the latest LGA-1851 chipsets, and for the new cards you mentioned .
I might even buy a 14th gen. 14900K even though the reviewers don't like it because it is barely faster than a 13900K .
Right now I have a 12900K, so it would be an upgrade for me and max out my gigabyte machine .
I like your idea about the fan cover, I wonder if a custom car painting shop could do it if you gave them some drawings,
or pictures to work from ?  I assume it can be removed .  Re. CDPR; they seem to have allot of issues with Cyberpunk .
Not to be too critical though, I like it, it runs pretty good if I let GOG galaxy install it, but I have to use the default
motherboard settings, as sajin has suggested, for it to be stable .
Happy gaming, and happy halloween .

Re: Do not even know what to name this... 2023/11/01 10:22:15 (permalink)
Thing with 14th gen is this, you can get a huge boost in performance with a gen II features on lower end hardware through its AI assistance. Or if you have all top end hardware the 14th gen cpu and ram and you are chasing synthetic benchmarks you will get a huge boost in performance with the assistance of AI faster than what a human alone can do and on the fly. It's how those records are being broken right now on cpu and ram speeds. Then there is using it to help manage your core clocks with the voltage and temps. If you already have a 12th or 13th gen already dialed in/configured for optimal performance and are just gaming to doing basic benches, already have awesome temps 14th gen is a little lack luster.
Then a gen II boards have an extra chip to let you micromanage the PCIE lane bandwidth if you have a bunch of M.2's manually setting what drive gets X amount of the pcie bandwidth.
The reviewers did an abysmal job even GN, was like plop the 14th gen in this gen I z790 or Gen II z790 while not touching a thing and saying it sucks yet we didn't use this hardware or its features if we actually used a gen II board to its full potential. Also the AIO's some plopped on 14th gen was comical pre 2021 AIO's that got beat by others back then being used on 14th gen.... You really want one of the EK Nucleus's or one of the asetek gen 8's even though the asetek gen 8's are not as good as EK's, the gen 8's are close enough for gaming and running something simple like 3DMark.

On 12th gen ideal ram speed since all you can really get on ddr5 is up to 6000-6400mhz on average with a CL30 or higher. Is using DDR4 4000mhz CL14-16 B-die out of the box since on a 12th gen K cpu it will run that ram/imc in gear 1 its even closer to the performance of ddr5 7200mhz cl34 on a 13th gen than a 12th gen running one of the ddr5 kits I described. It's all about those 1% fps lows if you want to run Cyberpunk 2077 like I do it's the difference between micro stutters dipping blow 60 fps or not getting them and keeping above 60fps. Also your frame time going so high its horrible or not. If you can keep it at 9-16 you are good. Once you dip below 60 fps in cyberpunk 2077 at my settings frame time fly's up to the mid to high 20's ruining the whole gaming experience on top of the micro stutters.
Happy Halloween to you too.

Well to be honest I never liked the EVGA discord the forums seem far more mature tbh.
@cutter32 good luck with your build man, I am surprised the EVGA forums are still around.

As for me no new builds fora long shot, I am,meagerly waiting for ZEN5, no Duallies from me tho that is all way out of my reach as funding would go.
my 5900X and the Nitro+ RX Vega 64 will keep me occupied for some time, as for the Nitro+ RX 6800 XT SE that one has been RMA's they said it will take 4 to 8 weeks which is stupid, seeing how careless companies actually are, if you buy from them they will make sure your item arrives with ion 24 to 48 hours but if you have to send something back, yea good luck with that.

So I kind of moved back to Retro PC rebuilds and retro gaming alongside collecting diecast metal scale 1:200 B747's A380's & A340's.
All because computer parts are extremely expensive nowadays and that will only get worse as time progresses.

At the rate of how things are going that future does not look hopeful sadly. Glad your new system is good to go enjoy.

Still enjoying my setup and cannot wait for the 2.1 Cyberpunk 2077 update. -.- Going to be wild.

Well in a debate, I already have a Rog Strix Z790-E motherboard got it for the memory lead layout and the Maximus Extreme z790 was sold out and silently EOLed by ASUS. Well I have a Hyperion case now, would be nice to have the USB C front port on the case able to do its 65W fast charging for my phone and Ally with the right motherboard. The other nice plus having an m.2 expansion pcb board will take the m.2 off the pcie lanes for my 4090, that should net me a few fps on my 1% lows and cut a few ms off my frame time. Just not sure if I want to spend 650 on an Asus Rog Maximus z790 Apex to do it, the Dark Hero still has the same issue as the Maximus Hero so if you want to run 7200mhz cl34 or higher it may not work on the Dark Hero depending on the board and the IMC. Apex Encore like the last Apex and the Rog Strix z790-E it should just work hitting xmp without any issues.

Idle/normal use/Gaming the Honeywell PTM7950 pad on my ASUS Rog Ryujin III 360 RGB AIO, these temps would not be possible without the correction bracket and thermal pad. Ambient temps range from 76 to just under 80F depending on the time of day and if the AC is going or not. Was running so much hotter on paste all the top ones...

Debating on getting an Apex Encore will be on this cpu/platform for at least 2 years until 17th gen comes with stacked cache for intel....
