I notice that the nvidia FE edition of the 2080ti uses a full length vapor chamber, which they claim is a first not just for them for but amongst their AIB partners too. Is this significant? Does EVGA's 2080ti models use a vapor chamber (as distinct from heat pipes)? Thanks.

I have a pair of 18 month old 1080Tis in SLI. I understand that SLI is not supported but that there is a new way of using two GPUs with the 2000 series.
Do you all think that running 2 GPUs for driving a pair of 4K monitors is necessary with these new units? I am thinking of a total rebuild at this point.

CPU: Ryzen 9 3900X
Cooling: Corsair AIO
MOBO: X570
Memory: 32 Gb Dominator
GPU: EVGA RTX 3080 FTW3 ULTRA
Displays: Dell 48" 4K and a Dell 34" 2560 X 1440 curved
PSU: Corsair AX1200I
Sound: SB
Storage: Boot.. Gygabyte NVME 1 TB, Storage/Programs 970EVO Pro
OS: Win 10 Pro
Custom case and
Other  stuff.

It will use NVLink, instead of SLI.

Can you tell us if the 2070, 2080 as well as the 2080 Ti will use NVLink and combine VRAM?

Hmmm, it says I am a new member, strange as I have been a member for years.
Anyway, I do not see anything about NVLink in the specs. I do know that it allows the use of all memory not just what is on one unit. I am wondering if there is a need to have two of them with this new technology.

The quadro 8000 can do it, so the 20 series cards that come with nvlink should be able to do it too.

Why isn't there a hydro version of the 2080 ti? I really liked my 980 ti hybrid. Is that type of cooling outdated?

Also, is it worth trying to get an icx2 card vs a dual fan? Does it really make a difference in terms of sound? My hydro is so quiet I don't want to go back to dual fans. :(

Gonna have to see some real time use of the cards as to Rendering... but if 20-30% gains and 30% price increase is a combined reality.. I cannot see switching out my 3 1080Ti's... price is way too high, will wait till the next upgrade some 2-3 years from now.

Do the 20 series cards do a 0 RPM fan mode at low load? I pre-ordered a EVGA GeForce RTX 2080 Ti XC ULTRA and realized I didn't know. :D

Thank the miners of last gen.. you used to be able to order two, but the mining craze forced the limit down to one.

Annoying and I confess that I ordered a competitor brand Ti (x2) because of it so surely not good for business... Mining craze shouldnt really impact preordering something that expensive as its totally unknown if its worth it for mining.

You can order More than 1 if you order from more than 1 point of sales --- only 1 from EVGA directly -- but there are other places https://www.evga.com/products/wheretobuy.aspx

So, after the prices of the news series where it's more safe buy, 1300+ Euros for a RTX 2080ti, 900+ for a RTX 2080 or about 700 Euros for a EVGA GTX 1080ti FTW 3 ?

This time model with 3 coolers is nice.
iCX2, and with dual coolers XC and XC Ultra models are cool.

XC is perfect for me because I will use waterblock, but XC Ultra is probably new paradise for fans of air cooling.
There is a still customers who don't want to separate from Noctua huge air coolers.

EVGA RTX 2080TI FTW3 Ultra... I could imagine that beast.
I'm in little doubt what to do. I have offer to buy new EVGA GTX1080Ti FTW3 for 640 euro, maybe even for 600 euro.
I didn't saw performance between Turing and Pascal.

Is there gonna be another chance to preoder the RTX 2080 Ti? Since every online shops to be out of them and only have auto-notify as a option. I was at work and didn't even get a chance to preorder at all. Newegg has the RTX 2080 for preorder but I don't want it at all. I hope your auto-notify works when they do come in.

I wanted to wait for the FTW3 series, but have some space concerns. Because of an internal liquid cooling reservoir, I only have 11.875” of space from the slot edge. Will this FTW3 card be under this dimension? I noticed the fan shroud extends of the end of the heat sink. If not, I would not have to wait for the larger cards and select the XC models.
I have not seen any specs for the FTW3 cards yet.
Thank You.

Before I step-up etc. I want to see REAL numbers on real games that I play. What good is it to pay double not even increase your FPS, fill rate, or anything else. We will know soon enough
what real world testing shows. But until then I am not going to worry about anything except wishing there was real competition to force some prices down...
