Hydro Copper when?

Based in pricing I am seeing, a HC RTX 2080ti might well be $1400+. I'd have a hard time justifying that price tag not to mention the authorization from the woman.

Heh Heh, I know exactly what you mean. Same here. The spousal approval will be harder than wrapping my head around $1,400 approx

1. Taichi z370. i7 8086k @ 5,2GHz Stable.
16GB G.Skill Trident Z @ 3,000MHz.
EVGA GTX 1080ti  FTW3. Acer XB270HU IPS 1440p 144Hz Refresh with G-Sync. PSU Corsair AX850. Cloud two cans, and Creative T20 stereo. Realtek HD on board sound.

I read this on some spec sheet also.  It was also asked here in the forums awhile back as well.  I just don't recall where I saw it and it makes no sense to me either...

Found one example > https://www.evga.com/products/Specs/GPU.aspx?pn=e4516b01-269b-45f9-bef2-16585b382d3d

The spec sheet is talking about running at 4k. You're not going to be able to run higher than 144 Hz at 4k. At lower resolutions the card should be able to run at higher Hz.

I think that may be a mistake in their spec sheet.

I don't see any mention of the specs referring to 144Hz at 4K.  Only the max refresh rate and the max resolution etc.

Here's another example, but with a 2080Ti card > https://www.evga.com/products/Specs/GPU.aspx?pn=f5fc9cf7-6b66-45ae-aaaa-3848a66a8d5f

4K has been around awhile and yet the spec sheets of Pascal cards show 240Hz on spec sheets. > https://www.evga.com/products/Specs/GPU.aspx?pn=b4035e3e-bc23-4c2f-be64-5f5e92173505

No, no surprise.  It's a programming thing that didn't seem to take.  These are definitely VR-Ready.

Edit: Fixed.

I don't know if it is accurate, but 75°C with the tri-slot version on 2080ti makes me feel scared for the two slot version....

The king is dead, long live the king!
Absolutely amazed how this beast performs, using it on Asus PG279Q (1440p 165Hz monitor) monitor. BF 1 everything maxed is 145 - 165. Lowest I saw was perhaps 130 fps or so. In full action where explosives are all around you cause no hiccups, just so smooth.
With such short playtime max temp I saw was 65 degrees celcius, will try with higher power limit though.

That's great news.  Thanks for that info as that will help me make a decision since I game on a Dell 1440p 144 hz screen.

That's a non-ultra.

Can you confirm it's an A chip like Ultra?

Looking at water at later time, I'd hate to be stuck with a 3-slot IO panel...

While it is an Ultra, I would like to know what the non-Ultra gets, even the black edition.  Heck, I would like to know what each 2080 and 2080 Ti SKU gets.  If someone could put that together, that would be uber fantastic.

I presume all chips are A chips, but need confirmation.

I'm looking to buy 2 cards and it seems the best option is to go with 2 2080Ti XC due to standard PCB. Not sure how much one gains from FTW3. I guess not much really.

If Black Edition is with reference clocks (I assume it is) then it will be non-A chip. Any factory OCd chip will be A chip, unless AIB is a rebel and doesn't do what nVidia told 'em to do.

Well do we go by the reference Nvidia numbers and if they are all OC'd by EVGA, that makes them all A chips?  I'd like to see the actual pics of each SKU tbh for peace of mind. lol

is it just me or is the stock on these cards much lower than we typically find at launch.. I don't recall ever having this much trouble getting a card.. dating back to the release of the 680 cards. I mean, it's never easy.. but this go around is even more challenging.

Can @EVGA_JacobF @EVGATech_LeeM or any other staff comment on when more preorders are likely to be opened up on amazon or newegg (or even stock on evga.com) - Im in the US, fwiw

More cores, same density & process, more heat (spots) - less clock.

It's a rushed release. I'll assume it's because nVidia wanted to catch the market before AMD is ready with consumer 7nm. They don't have the stock, no games ready, even SDKs were in terrible shape... This was a rushed release, at least a few months early. Probably was meant to release in H12019.

Could be why they released the regular 2080 and 2080ti at the same time.. usually it's a year before the ti comes out.

We were already past that and it doesn't make sense in a technical way. You produce the same chip, just best chips go to Quadro/Titan, a bit worse go to xx80Ti, worse go to xx80.
