the same I asked a page ago.
if you look better, the XC is a two slot card, the XC Ultra is a three slot card.

I would like to see some reviews to see the real differences in real world usage.

Going to cancel my pre-order with Nvidia and wait on the the FTW3 version.  Replacing a 1080Ti SLI setup and would rather do evga if possible.

Well from right off the step up page.
"EVGA will open the Step-Up Queue on the NVIDIA Availability Date for the GeForce RTX 20 Series."

So there is only a pre-order up now. So unless somebody from EVGA wants to correct me, the step-up will not even be available until the cards are actually here and ready to ship,
which is 4-6 weeks away. I have 72 days to step-up and I plan on it. It's just a question of interpretation of Nvidia availability vs. EVGA shipping.

These cards look cheapish... Clear plastic for the shroud. What happen to the all metal design from last year? The was best design you guys had ever created. Also why not make the pcie plate all black like the Founders Edition card. Its gives the card a more sophisticated clean look. Last, the back plate only covers part of the card. Im sorry, but for 1200 bucks I might have to go founders edition this year unless you guys release a premium FTW 3 card this year.

I called EVGA, and the sales person told me that I am able to upgrade since I am within the 90 days. Just have to queue in somehow... I will call them again this week and see what they could do for me I guess! I am ok with waiting for them to be available too

$1200+ USD for a video card is insane.  I'm sorry but that is just a stupid price for a card.  That would make the card $1600+ for me.  I could buy a used car for that price.  I could buy 2 used 1080Ti for that price and run them in SLI and probably perform better.  This is what happens when there is no competition, and all of you are just lapping it up.  NVIDIA just had the best 2 years of their life, and these prices are going to ensure they keep that up.  I won't be buying one of these extortion priced cards.  These prices are stupid and out of touch with reality, unless your goal is to brag on how much money you spent.  I tell you how I really felt..but this is a family friendly board :)

Are these 2 slot or 3 slot graphics cards compatible with my ASUS Z170S motherboard? Because that sounds scary to me. I currently have the GTX 1080 TI FTW3 and I'm worried about this new RTX 2080 Ti XC Ultra being incompatible with my motherboard. Can someone clarify?

Curious... are you doing away with SLI and just getting a single 2080Ti?

I've got two Titan X Pascal in SLI and it's been nothing but a headache. Very few games anymore actually take advantage of them. The games that do, it's been mixed results. BF1 had a rough start with SLI and they actually had to pull support for a month. When it was reintroduced, myself and others have had issues with SLI and G-Sync. (just dropped 2k on the new 4k 144hz monitor and the issue persists).

Even if the NV-link is 50x faster, that doesn't fix the poor SLI implementation into games.

Don't even get me started with mGPU in DX12. DX12 has had a very rough launch and BFV alpha was running on DX11.1! Clearly devs don't want to adopt it so mGPU isn't a fix either.

I think I'm only doing single card setups from now on.

Early adopter pays a price premium. Enthusiast top end pays a price premium. Lack of competition plays little role. These prices are not that far off what the top tier released at almost 2 years ago and they give higher performance. You're just used to seeing that ~$1200 strictly for the prosumer models. Like you however, I'd have hoped the 2080 Ti was closer to ~$700. I don't know what the BOM is on these but GRRD6 and that die are not cheap. I imagine yields are not that fantastic either.

Navi competition + late 1st quarter 7nm refresh should see the competition return.

the blower parts are rarely ever step up capable.

Call me skeptic, I sure these new cards will come with decent improvements, eg. power efficiency, overclocking potential etc. but I believe something to be a bit strange about the launch of the 20xx series.

1) I think they will run hot hence the dual cooler design by Nvidia.
2) Super strange that not a single RAW FPS numbers exhibition of any sort.
3) Performance figures that are being touted are mostly "Ray Tracing" figures. Which TBH can't even be compared to 10xx series or anything else. We WANT BENCHMARKS!
4) With the simultaneous launch of the 2080 Ti with 2080 leads me to strongly believe these cards are place holders for the real improvement everyone has been waiting for, which we won't see until TSMC's 7nm possibly next year?

-Rape pricing is completely due to the lack of competition, I blame mostly AMD not Nvidia.

It used to be but to be fair they should add it on step up, it is not I want the cheap ones but I really like the blower type and not even only me :(

Theres a reason for that, as Tom Peterson went on to say in a post presentation interview,  showing their own numbers would just get a pfft from the community, they want review sites to get the numbers out so they are trusted.

Maybe if evga's blowers were ready to advertise the step up to that would be available.

Hype ray tracing only to disappoint on actual numbers. No reason not to show how the 2080 Ti compares to the 1080 TI unless the performance jump doesn’t justify the price premium hike.
Basically something would have 100% better than nothing, and IF they did reveal some benchmarks that were fictitious/fabricated they would seriously put a hurt in their credibility and I doubt they would risk that because the truth would eventually be apparent. It seems as if it was in Jensen's interest to omit the truth then to tell a lie.
