I ordered one on late 12/26 3 day shipping. so if I figure 27 Thursday 28 Friday 31  would be Monday would get my card.. Ups is open but it says I am getting Wednesday  the 2nd kind of frustrating.
Any way I see we are limited to 112 for powerlimit . Did evga increase that I see the black xc and ultra ship with 130 pl??
If not any non a chips with higher PL?
I heard you can not flash the black ultra  bios on this card 104 prefix vs 107 or something like that I can see them not ocing the card higher cuz nvidia tells them they can't but 112 PL seems low

What day did EVGA ship on ?

I checked my email  label created 26th shipped on 27th. kind of waste I spent 29.00 3 day shipping free would have arrived same time.
I can always eat next week...lol
I was hoping to get my late x-mas present and use it I have the 1st off oh well life goes on will read up little more.

So i still was wondering what is the power limit with these cards??
I know evga does not want to take away from xc and ultra sales understandably..
Does anyone who has the card have any feedback temps? oc potential? hitting pl?
thanks

Awww man, that sucks. I ordered mine on the 26th and got next day air, it arrived before noon on the 27th. The card runs hot, really hot and it's a combination of the chip itself and the 2 slot design. Idle temps stay at 55 with a custom fan curve but there's no zero fan idling for me. I hit thermal limits before hitting power limits. I have it set to +195/450 and it peaks at 2070 but hovers around 1890 - 1920 depending on the game. I've tried upping the core clock by 30 but I get instability so I may have lost the silicon lottery on this one since I've seen some people hit 2100 with proper cooling. I've been getting random crashes in game as well, no artifacting, just crashes so I'm going to try to dial down my OC even more to see if it keeps happening. Still though, even with all the issues, I'm happy with the way the card is performing and the design, which I originally disliked, grew on me after I had it in the case for less than a day.

This doesn't sound good; I wasn't aware of such thermal performance. My silly 980 Ti FTW never idles properly. For some reason the clock speeds never drop at all. On the desktop when doing little or nothing, the temperature is all over the place for no apparent reason.

What do you know about liquid cooling? If these cards run this hot, do you think it would make practical sense to go liquid? There is the longevity issue, which at this price I consider important, but I have read that GPUs easily throttle when temps rise, but I also thought I encountered information that conflicted with that.

For my part, I never had any idea that a card in a proper environment would ever run at anything less than intended/maximum speeds.

Yeah I regret not getting overnight myself.. I have titan xp and was not planning on getting 2080ti because prices have gone crazy..
But I saw the 999 evga black card and have owned many evga cards..Their great customer service sold me long time ago.. signed up auto notify and ban an hour later I got an email could not help myself.. Am a little worried reading all the space invader stuff and card's getting locked up in safety mode though..
Anyhoot I have thermal take core case with sides off hoping gaming stays around 70 would be happy if hits 2070 +500 on ram.. Have a 43 wasabi 120hz coming Wednesday hopefully pixels are good..
Glad to see your happy with the card. Did you try turning fans up to 80 just for gaming seeing if clocks don't drop so much. What are you gaming temps anyway ? I know it is beastly card with only 2 fans maybe throw some kryonaut on it.
Is the power limit 112 still?  Thanks and happy new years guys!

First and foremost, HAPPY NEW YEAR!

It's the chip itself, it runs way hotter than Pascal which is why you see 2.75 and even 3 slot aftermarket coolers right now. With the 2080 TI Black, you're trading off thermal performance for a smaller and cost efficient card. I don't see the thermal limits as a problem since it's kind of expected.

If you were planning to go custom cooling anyway, then it should alleviate most of the thermal issues. If you were buying the Black to save money, then adding on a hybrid cooler because of thermals, I'd suggest going with one of the pricier options instead. The non-A chips have a power limit so even if you alleviate the thermal issues, the OC you'll get will have less of a ceiling than the A chips. How big the difference the ceiling is is unknown to me, I haven't really looked into it.

I have a pretty aggressive fan curve setup, where it caps at 80% fan speed when hitting 75 degrees with a temp cap at 80 degrees. I also have 3 intake fans and 3 exhaust fans with the fan curve reading GPU temps, so it ramps up when it needs to flow more air in. Gaming temps are 80 every time I play a GPU intensive game. Games like League are pretty much below 70, I don't really monitor it. I tested the card before and after applying Kryonaut and it made 0 difference. I'd actually suggest not opening it up and reapplying thermal paste since the consistency and application were near perfect, probably because it wasn't a long gap between manufactured to consumer. You still can if you'd like, I find it fun and would do it anyway, but ID just suggest not doing it. Power limit is still 112 and it doesn't look like there's any intention of raising it.

As long as I get the kind of performance deltas between the 2080 Ti and the 1080 Ti that I found when I researched a variety of benchmarks, I will be happy, as that is all that I expected (I have a 980 Ti, and was looking at the % improvement from the 980 Ti to the 1080 Ti, and then the additional % improvement to the 2080 Ti). My primary concerns though are longevity and attenuated performance due to heat.

I've never had an EVGA card die within the 2 - 3 years that I have used my cards (not counting the GTX 570 that was defective out of the box), but I absolutely want to treat the 2080 Ti well, because the cost of cards within the performance range that I now require for 4K is so high. I know EVGA has a warranty, but I'm actually not sure I've ever dealt with a warranty replacement on any product in my life, and would like to avoid the process from ocurring in the first place, for several reasons.

But even though overclocking is not a requirement for me, I definitely would have a problem with the card's performance dropping due to temperature. This is something that I want to satisfy myself as to the facts on. Questions like "Is it true that modern stock-cooled GPUs can regularly "throttle" during intensive gaming?".

My assumption was always that a card had a thermal limit, and that if that thermal limit was reached, the card would simply shut down. It never occurred to me that a card could reach the thermal limit, and simply continue on with reduced performance, so that I never have any idea that my framerates are lower than they could/should be, and that there is in fact a problem. I'm not in the habit of monitoring my thermals while playing games, lol.

Not to bad if your not gaming..lol But if you are gaming I found 80 % to be kinda loud I sit 4 feet away open case but lower than that and temps climb..
You can do fan curve I don't like my card going over 72degrees only 2 fans

Got mine yesterday. Waiting on the waterblock now. I'd love to run it on air but don't have a rig with a big enough psu in it to run it. Hope I don't regret going directly to water right out of the box.

I have one rig that might have a 8x8 psu connector but no games on it to try. Not sure that would do much good.

I7 9900K, Asus ROG Maximus XI Formula, EVGA RTX 2080 TI Black, EVGA 1600T2 psu, Thermaltake Tower 900, Samsung 970 EVO MVMeM2, G.Skill Trident Z 16GB DDR4 3600 CL15, EKWB D5 rgb pump res combo with 400 mm reservoirs. Corsair LL120 X 4, LL140 X 2, NOCTUA NF-f12 X 3, EK XE 480 and black ice 360 Radiators, Custom LED lights, PetG tubing.

I just noticed the new price as well.

Just remember that a business doesn't set prices--customers set prices. A business can ask whatever price it wants, but that's all it can do--ask. It doesn't mean anything if no one wants to pay it. Prices are ultimately determined by how much customers are willing to pay.

It seems right now that I made a good decision to buy at $1000, but who knows what will happen three weeks or three months from now. I still can't get rid of the feeling that I should have waited, but mine was a situation in which I simply couldn't play the latest games until I upgraded. Some of them, like Arkham Knight and The Witcher 3 I have already been waiting a long time--I just couldn't hold out another 6 months or a year.

I was in at $999. I kept missing them. $1099 is likely going to make me pass on them. I’m sure they will sell though which would explain the price increase. Offering that card for less then 1000 was what got me interested in the first place.

Screw that. I was also in at $999, but not $1099. Just increasing the price because they know desperate people will pay up. I'll just wait with my 1080 Ti that I just bought for $520.

I couldn't agree more but I doubt it's going to happen. The rig I could put it in right now has no games and the psu blew on it. It's running but I don't have a big enough psu now to run the card (and no 8 pin connectors). I could put my 1600 T2 on the desk and run it off that and pull the 780 out. Since I reloaded windows I haven't installed anything on this rig.

So I might just try and .....get lucky....Yikes I know. I might possibly run it on air after all the rest of the water is done. It is on it's own loop.
I still have to believe the bad cards are more the exception than the rule.

I7 9900K, Asus ROG Maximus XI Formula, EVGA RTX 2080 TI Black, EVGA 1600T2 psu, Thermaltake Tower 900, Samsung 970 EVO MVMeM2, G.Skill Trident Z 16GB DDR4 3600 CL15, EKWB D5 rgb pump res combo with 400 mm reservoirs. Corsair LL120 X 4, LL140 X 2, NOCTUA NF-f12 X 3, EK XE 480 and black ice 360 Radiators, Custom LED lights, PetG tubing.

I was excited to see these back in stock, but much to my disappointment they tacked on a $100 premium.

yeah the +100 is definently a bummer on price!      999.99 was magical!

The $100 increase kind of felt like charging $100 for Anthem.
I passed on this cat and mouse game, and went with a Bundled RTX 2080 XC2 Ultra & 850 GQ Powersupply for $859.00
Makes more sense if you are gaming on 5930K 1080P 144HZ with older CPU.
And now that G-Sync will work with FreeSync my monitors will be certified. YAY!

Also not that it matters to me, but I see the 2080(TI) says not VR compatible, Maybe just Typos I'm seeing around Estores

EVGA had 2080 BE for $599 ($100 coupon) on Dec 28. IMHO, 859 for your bundle is not that good of a deal.

For what I'm about to describe, the only reason that occurs to me is the high value of the GPUs involved. But for that to make much sense, someone is going to have to let me know whether EVGA has always done this for say, $1,000+ cards. What am I talking about?

Well, I'm first struck by the fact that the box in which the 2080 Ti BE resides is approximately 2.5 times the volume of the boxes I've always received my cards in, from the GTX 260 to the 980 ti. The next thing I discover after removing the outer cardboard box is that the clear plastic "clamshell" in which, again, my cards have traditionally been seated has been replaced with a combination of a thick corrugated cardboard box and custom-cut foam interior. It's the way PSUs are often packaged. I suppose it's worth mentioning that a bevel was designed into one corner of the box for reasons beyond my ken, which actually makes it impossible to remove or insert the foam block without first inserting one end, pushing it under the bevel, and then pushing the other end down.

So...I have the largest, most leveled-up, beveled-up Packinging System TM I've ever received a card in, and yet for the first time ever since purchasing a new GTX 260 for $230 and a second new GTX 260 for $180, the only thing I find inside the box is a GPU and only a GPU. Well, that's not true--there is a small piece of paper with installation instructions on it.

As far as the lack of accessories, I assume this is a cost-reduction effort for the Black Edition, even though it doesn't seem like EVGA's cost for the usual items could be more than $5. But I'm wondering about the packaging. Have the really, really expensive cards always been packaged like this? Without a doubt the cost of this packaging is substantially more than the flexible cardboard & clamshell packaging I'm used to. A lot more protective, as well.

Does anyone know whether other manufacturers have changed their packaging? Could it mean that these models are more fragile in some way?

I’ve been buying high end GPUs for more than a decade. It’s really upto the make and model.
I had sapphire HD 5870 reference in 2009, which came in a small clam shell box, and that was the best single GPU at the time.
I also happened to bought more than 10 pascal GTX1070/80/80Ti from various AIBs. What really determines the box size is the premium you are paying for it. Ie, I bought a GTX1080 Turbo Blower from ASUS, which came in a tiny box; but the GTX1080 Strix came in a huge box. The low-cost 1070 from Zotac also came in a tiny box (it even came with a 980Ti cooler!lol) The Aorus GTX 1080Ti came in a big box, while my 2080 Windforce is in a medium box . I also bought the EVGA 2080 BE last month, which came in a big box with 0 accessories. I think maybe EVGA only has big boxes now, and although 2080Ti BE is a low-cost 2080Ti, it’s still a $1000 GPU!

They are VR compatible. Tried to post a link to Nvidia blog post but won't let me. It is the reason why I went with such a large suppy in my tiny case. They are setup for the upcoming single cable VR solution which I've read could consume up to ~250W

Mine came in yesterday along with the block.
Easiest GPU block I've installed to date.
