Is that how it's supposed to work, though? Scan and then input the score as the overclock amount?

Yep.

Did you hit test or scan?  I am under water, and mine said +239.  Which I then put in manually.  I think you can hit the apply button too and have it automatically entered.

Test also shows a score, but it is not automatically overclocking, it is just testing if YOUR overclock is stable.

First scan, 89 result, manually entered and applied 80 instead. Ran test after that.

239, wow. Stock BIOS? I'm not planning to flash mine or get the hybrid kit for at least a few months, but wow.

Interesting, I didn't think about the voltage slider, I assumed the scanner was taking care of that as long as I moved the percentage slider to 112%. So, essentially, my extra ~80 MHz is "free" but I could push it more with the other slider and running a scan again? That makes sense, but I think I'll wait on that until I get it the hybrid cooler - it will be awesome to pick up that much speed without flashing it, though. Thanks!

These non A chips/boards seem to be really good.  I have the Gigabyte Windforce non OC version, which is like the EVGA Black cards with the non A chip. With a EK block on it I'm running at 2100mhz on the core and 8000mhz on the memory in BF5.  I have seen it go up to 2115mhz on the core at times.  This also has the 112% power limit.  When games go past the 112 limit it will lower clocks to around 2050ish mhz.  Only time I see below 2000mhz is during parts of some benchmarking tools.  I ran the MSI autotune after I put the water block on it and it said +256mhz.  So added +256mhz to the core overclock and so far so good.  I think I might of got a freak board/chip or something lol.   Wanted to post here since I really can not find any other post about the non A chips on the 2080 ti's.

There must be some seriously low stock on this. After the first round it hasn't come back for sale yet.

Here's a link to where I saw some really good chatter from as well.  These cards somewhat shine under water but I see here even on air, they're fine as well.

I'm glad to see everyone get pretty decent numbers.  It's safe to say the RTX 2080 Ti Black is the best bang for your buck for the high end.  I just pulled the trigger on one as they've been in stock for a while now and a Hydro Copper to go along with it, yup for the same price of a XC Gaming.  Success!

For my case, I don't care about OCing (If it OCs high, great!) or benching as much as I do about FPS and the difference in FPS won't matter much between all the cards as they'll all be in the same ballpark.  I feel very confident this was the right purchase for me @ 1440p/144hz Gsync and it most likely will bottleneck my 5930K/X99 system. lol

Great way to end 2018.

Now I have to figure out how to install the WB on it.  I know its simple but I can't remember if I leave the front PCB plate on and backplate during WB installation or not, etc.  I just want to figure this out beforehand so I'm prepped and ready to go.

Ya, they came up around 10:30 EST and I scrambled to order two. One for me and one for my son. Didn't need to rush though. There were still some for sale until around 10 the next morning. Pretty psyched.

Welp....*sigh*...

God help me, I just placed an order for a 2080 Ti Black Edition. I got an email on the 21st, and was surprised to find that it was indeed in stock even though the email had arrived hours earlier. I was even more surprised at how long it remained available. But at the last minute, I talked myself out of buying.

Even though I was ready to resign myself to sticking with my 980 Ti for another year, the problem is that there are several games that I have already been waiting to play for a long time, but now that I have a 4K display, will simply have no chance of staying above 60 fps at the settings I desire until I upgrade. These include Arkham Knight, The Witcher 2, The Witcher 3, Just Cause 3, and Far Cry 3 & 4. Other games will have to wait until the next generation of cards (e.g. AC:Syndicate, GTAV, Dishonored 2, Kingdom Come: Deliverance).

I noticed a new email today, and basically fast-talked myself into an impulse buy, which is extraordinarily out of character. I was rather disappointed that the free basic shipping which was prominently advertised was not applied, but of course I didn't have time to investigate that particular mystery. The only thing I could imagine was that by taking advantage of the free "PowerLink" I had somehow disqualified myself.

This is also the first time since building my first gaming PC in late 2008 that I have not purchased an EVGA card from Newegg. But the only EVGA 2080 Ti available there is currently $1,700 USD.

Is there anything special I should pay attention to when testing the card? I've never bothered to do extensive stress testing of my cards after installing, but I am definitely going to do so this time. I suppose I will try to find a recommended battery of tests.

Lol--this is only two or three hundred dollars less than my last PC build cost.

While I want to congratulate you, don't purchase from scalpers who jack up the MSRP to make their 'cut' because its they who help keep things out of stock out of the hands of a consumer.  It has gotten out of hand with them.  Wish there were laws to throw them in a fiery pit.  Also before I forget, you just purchased your GPU with second hand warranty, the scalper being the original owner since they aren't a authorized retailer.

Regardless, I was one of the lucky ones that grabbed a 2080 Ti Black in that 10 or 12 hour window it felt.  I did some research prior to grabbing one and was surprised to see some potential OCs on it if especially put under water.  It's the reference GPU like they've always made over the years but the 'binned' factory OC chips have been priced on steroids and taken too far for my liking instead on $30, $50, $100 increments like they always have done.  I'd rather save $400 than spend it for a factory clocked GPU and hope my black comes close.  If I find myself in the 1900-2000 range on this GPU, great otherwise, no big deal! lol  They will all be close in FPS and I will have all the features and cores the other high priced GPUs have.

As you are undoubtedly aware, the scalpers exist because there are too many people who are "overburdened by money" (Marcus, BL2).  They simply want it now and will pay whatever. I am still salty that the cards are in the $1200+ range. Being an enthusiast, I like having the top hardware but this pricing is preventing me from wanting too. I am into custom water loops now and with the Hybrid being $1450.00, I will assume the Hydrocopper will be near that price point if not higher.

I bought my 1080 Ti Hydrocoppers around $750 to $800ish, to replace them, it be $3000, I just can't wrap my head (or wallet) around that. As long as they are moving product, Nvidia will charge as much as they can.

I had to laugh. I put myself on auto notify yesterday and about 2 hours later they sent me an email saying they were in stock. I had not planned on getting one until after the first. That's just luck of the draw for once.

I Looked the gift horse in the mouth and bought it. Also did not get the free shipping. I sent customer service an email about it so we will see when they open and get around to it.

I plan to put this one under water and it looks like you can flash the bios for better overclocks. what I can't figure out is you void the warranty putting it on water but EVGA sells the blocks that let you do it.
How does that work?

I7 9900K, Asus ROG Maximus XI Formula, EVGA RTX 2080 TI Black, EVGA 1600T2 psu, Thermaltake Tower 900, Samsung 970 EVO MVMeM2, G.Skill Trident Z 16GB DDR4 3600 CL15, EKWB D5 rgb pump res combo with 400 mm reservoirs. Corsair LL120 X 4, LL140 X 2, NOCTUA NF-f12 X 3, EK XE 480 and black ice 360 Radiators, Custom LED lights, PetG tubing.

As you are undoubtedly aware, the scalpers exist because there are too many people who are "overburdened by money" (Marcus, BL2).  They simply want it now and will pay whatever.

I would add a couple of things: One, that it's not just that there are people who have more money than patience, but it's simple supply and demand. That is, the fact that for whatever reasons, whether deliberate or not, there is not a normal supply of cards. I have never seen Newegg in this state before, in which months after release a card is simply not available for sale on the site.

Also, there is nothing immoral or unethical about "scalping". The supply of cards is low for some reason, but it is not finite, as with seats in an arena (not that that matters to the issue of morality). These people aren't evil, or criminals--they are simply attempting to make a small profit, and taking a risk in doing so. There is by no means any guarantee that a person who attempts this will make a profit, nor is there any guarantee that he won't lose money. That is because he has no idea what will happen tomorrow. If supplies increase, or demand wanes, or prices otherwise fall, a person could find himself selling at a loss, and this happens regularly. It's not the same thing as two hungry people spotting a loaf of bread at the same time, and one person grabbing it and refusing to share it unless the other gives up half his wealth.

I know there are people who won't want to hear this, but while it's reasonable to be upset at not getting something one wants, we're not talking about food and water. Animosity directed at a person who attempts to make a small profit selling a GPU is borne of selfishness at not being able to achieve x framerates instead of y framerates. It's perfectly human to feel such things, but one must also realize that it's not righteous indignation, but selfish indignation. That's why the entire notion of scalpers being bad people exists in the first place: Not because they are actually harming anyone, but because they are potentially preventing a person from getting exactly what he wants. And people like to get what they want. They also like to wait until the last minute before purchasing a thing, or think that they need something now instead of waiting, or think that attending a basketball game is a religious obligation, and so contribute to their own dissatisfaction.

Personally I would not pay hundreds of dollars more for a product when I know that I can avoid doing so by waiting a matter of days or weeks. But I know that, while as a gamer I consider there to be a problem, a scalper is not causing the problem, nor is he causing me any actual harm, and that the only thing I can do to affect the situation is not pay any asking price that I don't want to see.

Any of you guys running this under an EK block? I have lost patience for a HydroCopper or the MSI EK Seahawk. I quite like the backplate on this guy but wasn't sure if I had to buy the matching EK backplate if I buy their block.

What has the hydrocopper caused (which has been in stock since release), to make you lose patience for it?
Asking, since I've purchased one myself, as well as well as the 2080ti black #$%$999.99 model.

The $999 Ti black was in stock for several hours last night till this morning and when I purchased one a few days ago along with a HC.

Unfortunately, my selection for 3 Day UPS won't show up till next week Wednesday.....kinda defeats that shipping rate because I feel the ground shipping would have came around the same time for free.

I keep trying to get one but I keep missing them. Get the auto notify, and they are gone usually by the time I go on break at work. I think yesterday they were available for less than one hour.

Make sure you renew your notification immediately after getting an email. Around the 21st I think it was, there was availability for about 10 hours, and on the 24th, it was available for at least a full day I'm pretty certain, and maybe quite a bit longer. It seems like you should have been able to order at least on the 24th, if not the 21st.

There is no rush to get one. I was hoping to get one this week to see how much I still have to spend on other computer parts. I didn’t even know there was a 2080 ti for this price until recently and it is priced perfectly for me. Just got my Christmas bonus and a check with a good amount of OT on it so I couldn’t actually buy one until mid this week anyway.

For what I'm about to describe, the only reason that occurs to me is the high value of the GPUs involved. But for that to make much sense, someone is going to have to let me know whether EVGA has always done this for say, $1,000+ cards. What am I talking about?

Well, I'm first struck by the fact that the box in which the 2080 Ti BE resides is approximately 2.5 times the volume of the boxes I've always received my cards in, from the GTX 260 to the 980 ti. The next thing I discover after removing the outer cardboard box is that the clear plastic "clamshell" in which, again, my cards have traditionally been seated has been replaced with a combination of a thick corrugated cardboard box and custom-cut foam interior. It's the way PSUs are often packaged. I suppose it's worth mentioning that a bevel was designed into one corner of the box for reasons beyond my ken, which actually makes it impossible to remove or insert the foam block without first inserting one end, pushing it under the bevel, and then pushing the other end down.

So...I have the largest, most leveled-up, beveled-up Packinging System TM I've ever received a card in, and yet for the first time ever since purchasing a new GTX 260 for $230 and a second new GTX 260 for $180, the only thing I find inside the box is a GPU and only a GPU. Well, that's not true--there is a small piece of paper with installation instructions on it.

As far as the lack of accessories, I assume this is a cost-reduction effort for the Black Edition, even though it doesn't seem like EVGA's cost for the usual items could be more than $5. But I'm wondering about the packaging. Have the really, really expensive cards always been packaged like this? Without a doubt the cost of this packaging is substantially more than the flexible cardboard & clamshell packaging I'm used to. A lot more protective, as well.

Does anyone know whether other manufacturers have changed their packaging? Could it mean that these models are more fragile in some way?

I always left they did the packaging this way to justify the prices across the board.

I also was surprised to hear you get literally nothing with the 2080 Ti Black.  I just went to amazon and grabbed a few DP to HDMI cables for my side screens.

I know this is a bit off topic but I called it when I said, the 2080 Ti FTW3 HC whenever it would show up would be in the $1600 range.  Crazy LOL!  I literally spent $1179.99 for a Black on water versus a Ti FTW3 on water @ $1600.  Nuts!

Any way I see we are limited to 112 for powerlimit . Did evga increase that I see the black xc and ultra ship with 130 pl??
If not any non a chips with higher PL?
I heard you can not flash the black ultra  bios on this card 104 prefix vs 107 or something like that I can see them not ocing the card higher cuz nvidia tells them they can't but 112 PL seems low

Huh...it does seem like it should arrive on the 1st if the parcel doesn't move on Saturday (Remember, if you ordered it after 2PM PST it wouldn't ship until the following day). Perhaps the extra day is because UPS doesn't ship, or doesn't do full shipping on New Years Day?
