In addition to that, we are reviewing the site to improve the traffic and keep it running when we have a huge amount of users.

or put a captcha in place. USALion This whole experience has left a pretty foul taste in my mouth for both NVidia and EVGA. This is counter balanced by some of Jacob's patient promises about large amounts of stock constantly rolling in, and EVGA's awesome warranty and product design. But it's still starting to rub me the wrong way. Outside of EVGA's control, NVidia should have waited until they had large amounts of stock before announcing/releasing, rendering the scalpers virtually useless.

LowDime how is this effecting the people with step up requests in? I know some of those are getting close to the 90 days and that would be real bad pr if they got the wrong end of the bot coin per say
It doesn't affect them. It's all in the Step up details

I know you guys are limited by the numbers you are sent from Nvidia, and you can't do anything about limited stock. But what you CAN do is something about your website and hosting. That is entirely within your control. The webstore being slammed should NOT EVER take down your entire site. When I can drop to a shell and run a ping command on your domain and it fails to respond... there are MUCH DEEPER PROBLEMS that need to be addressed. The webstore should be hosted on an entirely different IP in your infrastructure, so that it can go down from being overloaded but your main site and forums will stay up and responsive. And it seems like your mailservers are also getting taken down because I still havent received any of your notification emails. Webstore traffic should not affect your mailserver.

It's great you guys are doing this, but if you don't stop the bots from buying in the first place how are you going to sell any cards from your site? You're basically going to be canceling 9/10 orders at this rate. Just open up a store on amazon, and sell them there.

No alerts, just signed up again. Please wait until you get more then 10 cards next time... this is getting stupid guys. My guess is that by the time there is any real inventory there will be a couple price hikes blamed on the human malware and transport costs.

I've already got an Adorama pre-order. Just Curious. Have it set to push to my phone and notify, I'm aware that the lag involved would likely be longer than it would take bots to order.

All around funny as *REMOVED LANGUAGE* ... Seriously though, watching the vigorous posts of people struggling to buy one... vs the bots that are going out and sucking up all the stock... I'm waiting because this all just sounds far too stressful right now. Plus this has to be the jankiest release I've ever witnessed for vid cards in my 20yrs of building rigs. I mean, it wasn't a paper launch I get it, but really... it was! Never seen a release without all of the sku's listed on websites for OC'd versions, and no schematics for water block builders. I mean this was just all jacked up from the start...I'm also waiting to see if there are any issues with the cards, firmware issues etc. Something just smells wrong... Also, it's not like people are still mining bit-coin, even in those days there wasn't a launch this screwed up.

If you guys notice that the site is slow. It’s because the bots are running 24/7. You can’t beat that.
Once everyone finds out they are up, than those people add to the sever load and it crashes.
We out number the bots. But the trick is they are always running.
EVGA says they are checking orders though, but it still doesn’t stop them from trying.

Jacob, I know there are a lot of disgruntled people here, but I do want you to know we see you trying. This launch is going to be a learning opportunity for many board partners. It's a shame nVidia put you in this position.

On the bright side this means EVGA posted the initial stock Thursday that sold out. Didn't have any stock Friday or the weekend but got stock in Monday. That is really good news really if it keeps up at that rate. I would be happy with stock showing up every three days even if it sells out quickly the first couple weeks. Eventually the resellers won't be making a profit.

Of course something smells wrong. Never did we have a global pandemic that massively disrupted the supply chain in every single industry. Trade war with China on top of all that. Recent USPS delivery struggles possibly caused by the government which puts more strain on UPS and FedEx due to reliability concerns with them. The staggered release was smart under the circumstances. Nvidia also probably wanted to release it now due to AMD's Big Navi coming very soon. It's all strategic under an unprecedented set of circumstances. With far more people at home right now, the increase in demand is also astronomical. You can only prepare so much as an individual mid-size to even smaller business as there is no hard data to show how bad it can really get (I say mid-size because you have giants like Google and Amazon that can withstand almost any traffic as they practically have infinite scalability at their fingertips). Everything will level off with time, EVGA is doing additional security measures and server upgrades after seeing what happened today, so they're trying and it's all we can ask at the moment until the big decision makers at EVGA can take up (within legal limits as we don't fully know what the contract with Nvidia says they can or can't do) measures suggested by others in the forums.

People have bots sniffing stock for various sites. EVGA is one of them. It wouldn't matter. It actually gives regular people a little bit of a heads up when he tells a few minutes early. Otherwise for the most part they may go up and out of stock with no one else knowing. It is better to be transparent as a company. Either way you'll have people who are unhappy.
Yes, This is how we finally got to order a Nintendo Switch 3 days ago, as they came into stock and I got a notification and boom as soon as I ordered it, they sold out. Got lucky to purchase one at MSRP instead of scalper price lol Ya'll are gonna have to do the same thing with 3080's to get one.

The model in step up hasn't been released yet. Jacob is saying this week hopefully on the 3080 FTW3 Ultra. I recommend reading the Step Up notes thoroughly. Once you're in the queue, the 90 days no longer applies to you unless you pull yourself out.

First off, thank you Jacob, for at least trying to keep us all informed (although I'd much rather see notifications posted here on this forum instead of that crapshow called Twitter, but that's just a personal opinion!!). My question is, with this hand-verification of orders taking place, does that mean that as orders get cancelled for being invalid (for whatever reason), does the store stock get updated as "in stock", or is that only going to happen like once a day (and crash the website)?
