Try some more Port Royal, Zeddvile ;).
 
disconnecting and reconnecting the OLED screen on the second card stopped if from burning to the touch, but it is still dead.

So it was connected backwards, I see. You can try your luck with support to see if they have spare OLED, but chances are slim.
Incorrect installation usually not covered.

I think I have to ln2 for more PR. At least on the older bios. 2430mhz + and she looses stability with the pot @ -68c ~ -70c to start.
 
But I will give it a go. DARK KPE has another ~ week on the bench until I get wacky,underwhelmed and unsatisfied by the red hype train. Probably going to end up on 3647. K|NGP|N mill a pot for that bad boy yet?
 
And OOH boy now i see. K|NGP|N back on the 9900k Port Royal. Very nice! Someone convince K|NGP|N to do a seminar or something.

It wasn't in backwards, it wasn't all the way in. (ie, not connected at all - it also doesn't fit backwards.. but the size would be wrong and the pin placement.) I think it was hot unrelated to it connected, it was because the flow to the second card was super low in parallel (from the sides). It was the wholw card that was getting super hot.
but after my Y splitting parallel every is looking good.
 
Speaking of the OLED. how do i shut the other one off? I dislike lights from inside the case. (hate RGB too).
Can an option in px1 be added to shut the display and evga logo off? (Did i miss it?)
 
This is a HT setup and light bleeds from around the case bug me. gaming + sofa + dog + oled + totally dark == win :)

We are all waiting for a new LED Firmware so we can set the White LED on the KPE HC Water Block.
In PX1 can you un-check all the Items is the List and then the OLED would go off I would think.

Not sure if my Current Delid Tool will work with this CPU.
The Rockit 88 Delid & Relid for LGA 1150 & 1151 is what I now have.

Nice that is what I was suggesting. I think I still use Paypal @ PPCS.

Most likely going to set it up the same way I did my 8700K and it has been a year now and still running Strong @ 4800MHz
LM on the CPU Copper IHS and TFX on the CPU Die and see how the temps are @ 5200-5400MHz.
I will start with the GPU and then CPU and then CPU GPU and see how the Chiller can cool Both.
And then go from there.

Must be similar to what happened to Hardware Unboxed’s 3900x?

From what I have seen the new Ryzen chips have literally zero OC headroom.

Either that or it’s because the Asus boards were feeding way too much voltage based on a buggy BIOS (seems more likely given how widespread BIOS issues are with these chips right now).
