Thanks for clarifying Jacob, and you are confident that all of the RMA cards that will start shipping in a week will have fully resolved the underlying power balance issue? Also will you be allowing a second RMA for any that still experience the issue with the replacement cards? If second RMA is needed we can work on a case by case basis, but I would be very surprised if a second would be needed for this particular symptom. Of course if anything else were to go wrong the card has full warranty.
I did a regular RMA procedure on my card because it was doing 80-84W on PCIe and also only doing 400-410W max. I received my replacement card today (collateral to be sure of getting a new card)... guess what ? The card can only do 425-435W. First was from China, second from Taiwan. 2014 and 2015. Judging by the number of ppl that have been through RMA and are saying the exact same thing, that the new cards are having the exact same problem just tend to show the damn crappy load balancer is a dud/defect/bad choice. Maybe after 6 months of this problem it would be great to actually consider solving the issue ? As for me, and judging by the lack of EVGA proper response, I've just sold my card today since I managed to grab a strix 4weeks ago. Guess you lose a consumer EVGA, goodbye. And actually this Strix is working as intended ... They claim 480W I get 485-490W, ... so yea.

arestavo Cards power limited on the normal and XOC VBIOS will be power limited on the Kingpin 520W ln2 VBIOS. People using the 1000W unlocked warranty voiding Kingpin VBIOS are brave and or have money to burn, and shouldn't post those results if they want to keep their warranty.
Stop scaring people if you lack the almonds to use the 1k bios... I have been using it since I put on the optimus cooler since December. 650 watts is my max draw. This card is a beast when water cooled. All these posts and you people are still blaming power balancing. ITS A HEAT ISSUE!!! THE FANS JUST CANT HANDLE THE HEAT AND A BAD PASTE JOB!!!!

Muppet, both my card were on water, both were less than 45°c max (50 after long run). The card design is just broken period.

god503 I agree with you, all rtx-3090 out of the box won't break record, you need some skill to get all out of it, its same thing with all company card or all rtx-3090 and also 3080. My memory on mine oc at +1500 so not so bad maybe.

What? Sorry, I don't know what you're talking about. My card has the same power limit issue stock, XOC, Hybrid or air-cooled. The XC3 VBIOS fixed it for me, and it has nothing to do with the fans or heat.

I never tried because my particular card has a quirk where the fans will Rev up and down under load. I offloaded the rad fans to a fan controller and bypassed that issue and got a few more watts for the card to use. However it should work just fine. Fan1 is the uncontrollable pump, fan 2 and 3 are controlled by the card. I can't remember if it's 2 or 3 that is split for the rad fans, the other is the single shroud fan that I control via the card still (I set a static 70% speed).

I just spoke to Jacob on Twitter, this is a big selling point of RMAing for power load balancing issues to me: if you have to rma for whatever reason, you will receive another XOC pre-installed card from this program. It’s like entering a different product line, where you’ll get another of the same quality card sent out if it dies for any reason. I doubt they’re going to start selling these XOC en masse, it’s a different guarantee behind the RMA and quality of the card.

arestavo I told this many posts back, my card at least my model does have heat issues even on Hybrid Kit whenever ANY Sensor touches 60C, if it's below that it will handle 2100 all day long with XC3 BVIOS, over that will start going to 2085 and sometimes 2055 or 2070, mostly sitting on 2070-2080 (+100 Core, +1250 Mem) using MSI AF "in Games". And "in Benchmarks" that's the reason why I can't reach 15K+ on Port Royal, I analyze the curve and see that dropped to 2025, 2040, 2055, 2070, etc...but of course on XOC VBIOS this is 1905, 1925, 1950, 1965, etc... If that's indeed the case, what you're describing is the normal GPU Boost behavior where increasing temps drop the GPU frequency. I forget the exact number, but it starts around 43C (I think), then every so many C it drops the GPU frequency again. https://appuals.com/gpu-b...g-algorithm-explained/ My issue is different. The card games at 1920 to 1950MHz 43C or 78C on the stock or XOC VBIOS. On the XC3 VBIOS, the card stays at 2100MHz even at 64C.

Hi @EVGA_JacobF, will this expand later on to cover the 3090 Hybrid Ultras as well? Just wondering if us 3090 Hybrid Ultra owners will eventually be covered. My guess it will take some time to get the final product out with the fixes + hybrid not being as popular as the regular cards doesn’t help either. Thanks.

Guess I’m “lucky” that I bought an air card and converted it to hybrid and got the joy of remounting the air cooler to send it and once again remount the hybrid kit. I’m sure they’ll hit your SKU and eventually tackle 3080’s

Someone else will have to answer about boost lock. My understanding is that it locked the card to the standard boost clocks (1800MHz for a 3090 FTW3), but I don't use PX1 and so never use boost lock.

I agree, it will eventually be covered is my guess as well. In the past, EVGA has been pretty good at rolling out fixes to all affected models. I don’t think 3090 Ultra Hybrids are built any different than non-hybrid counterparts other than the cooler itself.

EVGA_JacobF Its P5. Updated.
What BIOS is best for the P5 model? I have the P5 with waterblock.
Since there seems to be some confusion regarding this, Jacob made a typo with the part number when he posted earlier, and then corrected it (hence the "Updated."). There's only ever been a 24G-P5-3987-KR model for the EVGA GeForce RTX 3090 FTW3 ULTRA card.
What about those of us using non-ultra cards? It's not just an ultra card thing, but you are only allowing ultra cards to be RMA'd? I know my card won't push as high as an ultra necessarily, but it still shouldn't be power gimped. Is there a part number for these as well?

arestavo Cards power limited on the normal and XOC VBIOS will be power limited on the Kingpin 520W ln2 VBIOS.
Huh, funny, my card's average temp this run was 39*C and I was still power limited like crazy. Please stop spreading misinformation. https://www.3dmark.com/3dm/58618122?

Luigi408 Hi @EVGA_JacobF, will this expand later on to cover the 3090 Hybrid Ultras as well? Just wondering if us 3090 Hybrid Ultra owners will eventually be covered. My guess it will take some time to get the final product out with the fixes + hybrid not being as popular as the regular cards doesn’t help either. Thanks.
It will expanding to include all 3090 "FTW3" cards. HYBRID, HC, etc.
