So lower is better on water and higher is better on air according to GPU-Z.

Sorta .... LOWER is bester on ambient (maintained) or muuuuuuuch lower. ;)

For all of the ones wanting the best, you will get to pay to play this round.  I can't blame EVGA, as people beg for Binned cards, and now they can pay for them since there will be too many hours to count racked into binning the cards.  It all makes sense as to why this project took so long.

Also, those looking for ambient only temps, should really consider sticking with the 980ti reference boards, since they have proven to clock the same as the 980ti Classified.  These do run cooler, but the clocks still may not extend all that far compared to the Reference board.  If you do buy it and run it on air, it should be required that you aren't allowed to complain if it doesn't out-do the reference.

So should we be watching the advertisement page or product page where all the other 980 ti's are listed on the 22nd?

Yes, It would be nice to know beforehand if EVGA will show how they will be sold.

If they are going to be on the product page, How will we pick between the four different KPE offerings?

They will be on this page: http://www.evga.com/articles/00944/EVGA-GeForce-GTX-980-Ti-KINGPIN/

Any chance that beautiful copper cooler to be sold as an accessory for the regular classified cards that will stay on air?
They look so wasted on cards that will all be at least underwater...

In terms of performance under water-cooling, would I be better off keeping my Titan X Hybrid and purchasing a second for SLI or should I be looking at the 980Ti K|NGP|N?

I would say unless you're trying for benching speeds the Titan X is greater than any 980 Ti card, performance wise.  And you have a hybrid and you'd have to either run the KP on air or spend the money for an open water loop.  Titan X all the way in my opinion.

Id like to see inside your case once you have 2 EVGA Hybrid coolers and do you have a Corsair or something similar CPU water-cooler?

I could either mount the 2nd radiator/fan on the front HDD cage just to the right of the picture, or on the lower HDD cage on the bottom right of the picture. It may actually look much better if I mount both radiators/fans on the bottom HDD cage as it will accommodate for a 240mm radiator.

LOL!  Everyone cried about the cards being binned and how they lost out because the binning process sucks, then EVGA listens and bins the card, and people cry that the pricing of those exact cards they wanted binned sucks.. Can't please them all.

Stick with your other card, as it would obviously make more sense, and from this post, shows you wouldn't use the KPE as designed anyway.  You reference card at 650 will work perfect for what you want, and there is never a justification for the KPE in this case.

I dunno... I guess I really don't understand the value of high or low ASIC for specific cooling.

My ASIC is 69.9 on a reference card.  Slapped on an EK block and the temp maxes out at about 51C if the room is about 23C.
Base clock +320 (1320 mhz)
Memory 8000mhz.
Graphics score on FE extreme is 10123. http://www.3dmark.com/fs/5153908

No clue if its a good overclock or if a higher or lower ASIC would result in a higher or lower overclock but for a reference card (All that was available launch week) think it operates great, regardless off its ASIC.

Thank you both for the feedback.  Perhaps I should leave the 980Ti K|NGP|Ns for the big dog overclockers.  While I dabble in a bit of overclocking, I am in no way "hardcore" as some on here with amazing LS2 setups.  I suppose, it would be in my best interest to stick with the Titan X Hybrids for my 4K/60Hz gaming and occasional overclocking needs.

Hi all,
Does anyone know if this card can / will be shipped internationally? The prices I'm seeing are in dollars and I'm really keen on picking a card up - but I'm UK based.

Thanks!

You're right, the Kingpin is on the EU site which is good news...

The bad news (and it really is ****ty) is the cheapest Kingpin card in the EU is as expensive as the 76% USD version - after exchange rates the EU card costs about $1015!!

That's too much for me... such a shame.

You need to remember that in US there is little different situation with additional tax. Tax rates depends on state (in some it is even 0%). Thats why all prices in us stores are always shown without tax.
If you add tax than price difference won't be so high.

Despite that I agree that europe prices are little to high.

I didn't know that... thanks! :) It's a shame as I was quite hyped to snag an awesome looking card at a price not-too-much higher than competitor cards but it looks like I'll have to pass on this and get something more in line with my budget. Building a PC in the UK isn't cheap!

damn... itrs so wierd. I am buying this specifically for LN2 use so low asic or high asic  I mean am I REALLY going to get a better card if I buy the lower one. I heard Vince weas saying the high asic actually isd better this time around but he works for evga so that could be a convenient halftruth. Not saying hes lying but he could be. but he could also be telling the truth..
I dunno I had 2 binned 780ti KPEs and the 67% one was about the same as the 80% but the 80% didnt artifact at those clocks o water

also if the damn cards Cold bug AT -25 degrees again low asic won't mean a damned thing.

Woohoo, the 980Ti KingPin goes on sale in 2.5hours, but I'm just too cheap or prudent or maybe I'm missing a chromosome or two to buy one at $800 to $1000+ dollars. If I was a strong gamer or into benching though, yea I'd be setting up a campsite right about now with plenty of ice cold Fosters Lager in the office mini-fridge and boxes of chicken wings and Franks RedHot dipping sauce, oh yea.

Video cards in general are so financially volatile, it's the single component I just can't force myself to purchase on release day, oh well, got a 980 KingPin arriving in two days for $499, that's a price that works much better for an super fast office rig, so the plan for me will probably be picking up a 980Ti KingPin just before Pascal releases for my January Skylake - E build with a Rampage V Extreme Black Edition and a Skylake 6-core.

Until then I'll be more than overjoyed to use the oh so beautifully designed and super efficient 980 KingPin the gunmetal gray is going to match my CaseLabs S8S gunmetal interior and oh dear God the view of the KingPin from above through that full top plexi window, oh geez, getting weak just thinking about it, better mosey over to Publix Supermarket and grab two cases of Fosters for the Friday delivery, and place an order for those wings.

Thank you Jacob and EVGA and of course Mr. KingPin, outstanding collaborative effort on both Maxwell KingPin cards for 2015.

...better go check to see when the Seasonic Titanium 850watt badboy will be available, now that for me is a release day purchase.

You should see two of them in a S8 on a Z97 Classy, 1200P2 and assorted goodies. ;)

I get this. I almost pulled the trigger myself on two 980 K[ngP[ns recently....especially when EVGA put them up for $500. The silver / grey and available RBG color control is what I am really after but I cannot justify going backwards in technology. I know myself and my obsessions and the lacking 10-15 FPS would bug me to no ends...even it it was a diffference of 100 FPS to 85 FPS. I settled on two 980ti classy's instead. Like you, I'm not a serious OverClocker but do like to have a screamer when I want to sit and play a game here and there. It's getting less and less "here and there" though having four children..
