last year i had an evga hybrid kit on my 1080 Ti and was i highly disappointed with the pump noise/ buzz. I am using Silents Wings 3 and the hybrid kit pump was the loudest part of my pc. I RMAed the kit and sold the new replacement. That was the first and last time i dealt with evga's hybrid kits.
 
Now i am thinking about a hybrid kit for my 2080 Ti FTW3 Ultra. Is the buzzing noise from the pump still the same? Will evga some day acknowledge the issue and fix it or for the love of god switch to a pwm controllable pump/ newer pump generation?
 
 
I read on reddit about fixing a small magnet to the pump unit to reduce the buzzing noise, did anyone tried this? If yes, did it work?
 
I also thought about getting a Pwm to female mini gpu cable to control the pump with my mainboard. I actually really dislike the looks of the cable and i want my gpu to look as clean as possible.
 
Should i get the hybrid kit or should i save up some more money and go custom loop?

IMO the buzzing is worse on the 2080 hybrids than the 1080
 
hated my 2080ti ftw3 hybrid in terms of noise 
bought a hydo copper block and couldnt be happier 

The hybrid kits are a big disappointment in terms of pump noise. The magnet trick works temporarily but it is not advisable and not a permanent fix cause no one has seen the effect it will have on your card in the long run, and some have even gotten higher temps in bursts. i bought the 2080ti ftw3 ultra (hybrid version, preinstalled) and it just did my head in and returned it for an air cooled version. Do your research here, plenty of threads about the topic:

The hybrid kit at least for me and others sucked!
 
The pump sounds like an old MOFO Annoying to a fault!
 
I sent my original Hybrid back to EVGA for rma, I never reinstalled the replacement
 
I got the NZXT g12 and a Kraken X42, no pump noise, I changed the fans out for some Noctua's Very Very quiet, not that the other fans were loud I just wanted to have all of my fans Noctua's

Are you guys (with the pump noise) mounting the radiator proper according to EVGA suggestions?  If you have an air bubble trapped in the pump, is will make noise due to cavitation...just like any water cooled system.

@ksgnow2010 yes, the pump just sounds like a f*cking beer fridge. EVGA must improve their pumps, change to a newer generation of asetek pumps or just use a pwm controllable unit.

I currently own 2 2080 Ti FTW3 hybrid, and have owned 3 other EVGA hybrids before that.  Never had an issue with pump noise.  Sorry to hear that you are.

Looks good. Nice trick. My Be Quiet! Dark Base 900 White is insulated and absorb a lot of noise already.

Nope - I have two PCs that sit on my desk...one is 2.5 feet from me, and the other is 4 feet from me.
 
It took me a long time to find fans that didn't annoy the crap out of me.  (I don't use the radiator fans that come with the hybrid).

My Pc is like 30cm (~1 feet) away from my face. I use "Be Quiet Silent Wings 3 140mm PWM Highspeed" on 900 rpm, which are pretty silent and a "Be Quiet Dark Power Pro 11 850W" PSU which also runs a silent wings 3.
I might be a little sensitive to noise, but for example the Corsair H110i is use for almost 5 years now is still near silent. The hybrid kit pump on my 1080 Ti was the loudest part in my entire pc and filled the whole room with its buzzing. I could hear the hybrid kit pump from 7m (~23 feet) on my bed.
