RE Uninstall Precision XOC

1) Make sure when you remove Precision XOC, you then reboot

2) then you Manually remove the Precision Folder off your drive - look in Program Files (x86), then reboot

3) Now Reinstall Precision, with nothing else running - pull the internet connection - kill security and any other item that's running - Reboot again

Note: on newer GPU cards, After you install XOC, shutdown PC, remove the power cord from wall, Remove All Powered accessories (monitor, USB hub ...) press and hold power button on PC 30 seconds - discharge all capacitors, plug everything back in & Restart your PC

Would be cool if they made a kit for existing FTW3 users.

Now what would be cool is if they made a reversed Kit, to go from Hybrid FTW3, to normal FTW3. Id deff get one lol

Hello again guys, quick question about the conversion from air to liquid on a FTW3 card using the EVGA Hybrid Kit, once everything is installed do i need to update anything on the GPU? Like Bios or something? Will Precision XOC pick up the change?

thank you.

Thank you AHowes and Cool GTX, i truly hope so!

Could you please confirm if Precision XOC will pick up automatically the modded GPU as being hybrid or will it continue to show the standard FTW3 logo?

Standard ftw3 logo. You'll need to load the ftw3 hybrid vbios to your card to make precision display hybrid.

Ftw3 hybrid bios.. so there's such a thing? Does it allow.the card higher tolerances in overclocking since it's water cooled? Or is it just tell pxoc that it's a hybrid card?

Hello Sajin, thank you for your message , would you mind telling me where the ftw3 hybrid vbios is available and how do i install it?

You can download the ftw3 hybrid vbios here... https://www.techpowerup.com/vgabios/195363/evga-gtx1080ti-11264-170612

You'll need to use nvflash to flash the ftw3 hybrid vbios to your card. You can download the latest version of nvflash here... https://www.techpowerup.com/download/nvidia-nvflash/

Stuff to do before flashing:

#1 Create a folder on your desktop called nvflash.
#2 Extract all the files from the latest nvflash version you downloaded into the nvflash folder located on your desktop.
#3 Move the ftw3 hybrid vbios you downloaded into the nvflash folder located on your desktop.
#4 Rename the ftw3 hybrid bios to ftw3hb.
#5 Make sure your card is currently booting off the salve vbios. You can verify this by checking out the power target % slider inside precision xoc. If the sliders max is 117% the card is booting from the master vbios. If 127% the card is booting from the slave.

If you're currently running the master vbios you'll need to switch the card to the slave vbios before flashing...

#1 Shutdown your pc.
#2 Unplug pc from wall socket.
#3 Hold case power on button for 30 seconds.
#4 Locate the vbios selector switch on the video card & move it to the other position.

#5 Plug pc back into wall & boot the system.
#6 Verify that the card is running on the slave vbios. If the card is running on the slave vbios you're ready for flashing...

Flashing procedure:

#1 Run command prompt via administrator.
- Windows 7: Press the start button and type "cmd", right click "cmd" and select run as administrator.
- Windows 8/10: Press the Windows Key & X keys together, select command prompt (admin) from the menu that pops up.
#2 Type the following commands into the command prompt... "cd  c:\users\<your users name here>\desktop\nvflash" without quotes and hit enter.
- Type "nvflash64 --protectoff" without quotes and hit enter. (Turns off write protection on the card. Some cards will need to have this disabled before you can flash the card so always perform this command before flashing.)
- Type "nvflash64 -6 ftw3hb.rom" without quotes and hit enter.
#3 You'll be asked if you want to override/update the display adapter firmware. Press "Y" on your keyboard to say yes. Nvflash should now start to flash the ftw3 hyrbid vBIOS to the card and complete by saying the flash was successful.
#4 Restart PC. The nvidia drivers should automatically detect and install the card, if not, you may need to uninstall the drivers and re-install them.

Hello again Sajin , just to thank you for the above post, it was really accurate, complete and to the point! Followed every step and in no time i was up and running with XOC showing the Hybrid details.

If you have any other pearls of wisdom you would like to share to get the most out of the Hybrid model, please do.

I have ran the Heaven benchmark on 1080 ultra settings and my power temperature reached about 75 degrees after close to 30 minutes just continuous play, no benchmarking. I would like to know, is this normal? The other temps were 65 and 71.

Once again Sajin, much appreciated for the support/help.

For a hybrid card no.. should see temps in the 40C's. For a air cooled card yes.

Hello again Sajin , thank you for the heads up.

Right now with 90% load , the temps are showing 56 53 51 on XOC , i have  50mhz GPU offset applied , i use mostly a flight simulator (p3d). You think it's best to take the card out and reapply the thermal paste? I have installed all items without adding any other paste.

Thanks for any feedback.

How is your radiator from the card setup? Barbs up or down? Might be air stuck in the pump on the card.

Of course I'm comparing this to the temps from my former 1080 ftw hybrid and I had a corsair sp120 high performance fan on the rad insted of the stock one and at 100%.

Hello AHowes, i have it as recommended by EVGA and i have a Noctua SP120 fan on a Push/Pull configuration for the extraction, i did not remove the stock EVGA fan. In terms of noise it is really quiet, so i don't think there is a air issue going on.

Hello Sajin , actually last time i was running the sim, the temps got to about 50 degrees with normal operation all around. But yes, i have new thermal past available, so might as well do it and give it another go.

Thanks guys, really appreciate the support!

Hello :)

I recently purchased this card, and I am unable to feel vibrations in the radiator lines. Is this cause for concern? Is the pump working?

Playing Cities: Skylines my GPU Temp was 90-92C. My computer forced a restart when I was playing. Upon reboot, I used Aida64 to check GPU temp and it was 92. (CPU was ~30C) (12-23-2017)

Card is currently idling at ~47C(has since lowered to 40C), Memory and Power are below 40. (Running Chrome tabs + Precision XOC) (12-24-2017)

Am reading through these posts, will attempt to update vBIOS as per Sajins post.

(Update: Unable to achieve 127% Power slider on Precision XOC, browsed other posts, saw Sajin reply to another( /FindPost/2691067 ) - EVGA load two Master vBios to card?)

[G] fan and [M] fan will never go above 0rpm on Precision XOC, even with the Slider set at 100% and links disabled/enabled.
[ P]fan seems to be Radiator Fan. [M] Fan on video card does spin, even if P-XOC doesn't detect it.

Yes, it sounds like your pump isn't working. This is all you need to do to get the 127% working correctly if you've already moved the vbios switch on the card to the salve position. G & M fans will always read 0 on the hybrid card. The P fan is the fan on the card itself.

Thank you for the quick reply.

I was able to use nvflash to update the vbios(it updated to the same version) and am now able to select 127% on OC Mode.

("The P Fan is the fan on the card itself" - If I set PFan to 100%, the radiator fan is the one that spools up??)

I will contact EVGA Support for more information on the Pump.

Might be some crossed wires then? (Improper placements?)

Both OC and Normal display the same vBIOS 86.02.39.01.90, GPU: GPU102-A, Revision: A1, Device ID: 10DE-1B06

Update: After updating vBIOS I am able to select 127% Power on both OC/Normal modes. (Cause for concern?)
