I think we're still waiting for official EVGA word on the request.
Does discord hold on to messages, or is it only real time?  Real time is nice, but we need something that people on different time zones and different continents can all use at a time convenient for them, like the forums.

Speaking of power cords, I had to use a molex-to-8pin CPU adapter on one of my 2P boards, and it's starting to look brownish.  I think it may be overloaded.  Is there a better way to get CPU power off spare PCIe power instead?

Not good on brownish color.
I had to get a PSU that supported 3 CPU Power Cables
It was an Corsair AX 1200 with 3 EPS Cables.
PM me if you would like it and need 3 EPS CPU Power Cables.

Discord does hold on to message. The servers never get ourged unless it is deleted. It would probably be best to setup discord using the evga_captains email address so it can be transfered smoothlessly and never gets deleted. It probably wouldn;t be a problem as well for it to be setup on anyone single persons account. I know i’ve had discord for awhile now and dont plan to ditch it anytime soon. Might be easier from a management perspective. That ways all the messages will always be avialable (unless the sever gets delted or a moderator deletes it). I know i have been able to scroll back to message from a few week old (that was a lot of scrolling). You can aso set up different c hat rooms for s upport only general chat, potm chat, or specific chats like the forums.

And is it recommend everyoen switch to a 14awg? Im still using default cables that come with evga psu’s. .>.>

Note that our DC Email Address is Not a unique email address and cannot be used for a lot of website.
We would need 2 or 3 Admins using their own real unique email address for a process as this. We have this so it is not an issue.

Ill have to start changing out soem fo the cables.

And i can easily set up a discord and give full access to the leaders or if any of the leaders have experience they can do it. Once you grant full privledges then the server should never go away. And since everyone would use their own username it would work very well. I think it would be a good avenue for real time and forum type history.

We need to wait for EVGA, no since in stating up a process then move it.
We are done for the most part for this year so we have time to wait.
Also Only the Owner of our EVGA DC Captains email address can create this process if setup under the EVGA DC Captains Ownership
Also Discord requires Client Software to be installed and myself I would rather not install a Client Tool and use only a Web Based Tool.

Yup figure it be best to see what evga says. Would be easiest to have once single place to go (ie. here).

It is more of a private area for our Team to talk about what we are doing and keep non-team members out of what we are doing as a Team.

you shouldn't need to install a client software unless you want to use the voice features.  I'm able to access via online web-based all the time.  I dont think voice works for webbased however, for that you need the client side.  But it'll be a mute point if we get our private forum area.

on the note of cables, what does changing to 14awg do for power delivery. Does it allow for more stable power flow?

If you have a 1600 T2 (12 AWG) then your cable is fine..
UPS to see what wattage the computer is pulling at any given time.
If I also run CPU Tasks then I pull up to 925 Watts.

I had my system with 2 GTX980Ti and OC CPU have random reboots under full load.
Found the 18 gauge power cord very hot. Even the the PSU was hot to the touch.
I replaced it with a 14 gauge wire and it fixed the issue.
Now for me, any PSU 750w or better gets a 14g cable. I will not use anything smaller than 16g

I figured this out early this year.
I was lazy and did not replace the power cord when I replaced the PSU and went SLI
I just reused the old PSU cable.

Thanks for the offer, Bill!  If I can't get this fixed easily I might take you up on that.  I only need 2 EPS cables so I think there may be another way to wire things with the 750W supply I have now.

I use them and this is a great one
for a 1050 Watts Link $402
CyberPower PR1500LCD Smart App Sinewave UPS 1500VA 1050W SNMP/HTTP Mini-Tower
and for 900 Watts Link $330
APC Smart-UPS 1500VA UPS Battery Backup with Pure Sine Wave Output (SMC1500)

I am using the second on my new server to see how well this one works and so far I really like it.
The old unit from APC I was using was the APC BR1500G Back-UPS Pro 1500VA 10-outlet Uninterruptible Power Supply
at 865 Watts but I was hitting 900-940 Watts when running some of the GPU Projects. Link $140 or so.

On the other question the Denver Metro has dirty power IMO and lost of power all the time and short ones like 1 minute and back on and then 2 minute and back on and this is just to common and SSD drives for one hates short power on power off over and over.

Excellent info and links bcavnaugh..
Here in Switzerland we have very good power and very little dips or brownouts....
This is why I asked...

Understand if you have very dirty power or lots of brownouts/dips

We don't lose power often, but it does happen here in northern Indiana. Short brownouts while power get rerouted occur every so often. My APC unit is a 1500lcd which obviously cant hack a 1000 Watts. Like bcavnaugh, I have 2 1080Ti and a 6850K overclocked running boinc and folding or mining.

Is there any tool that allows me to monitor and modify my tasks and projects across all my rigs?
For linux of course I can remote in and display the boincmgr GUI, but it's not ideal and doesn't work for my windows machines.

edit:
I guess per google BOINC Tasks or BoincView would fit the bill unless anybody knows of anything else better.

Other Than BAM! I just connect to another host in the Client Tool.
You will find the password in the File gui_rpc_auth.cfg Located in the \ProgramData\BOINC
The you would add the IP address that you connect from in this file remote_hosts.cfg located in the same folder above.
Their are Posts about this here.  All set, I think  is one of them.
https://forums.evga.com/FindPost/2719452 is they way I connect as above

i dont have more half a dozen systems, so i use teamviewer to control the machines individually.  It works across windows/linux so i just remote in and make changes to that particular systems and go from there.

I tried both BoincView and BoincTasks, and agree; I greatly prefer BoincTasks. It was way smoother to get working and gui is better. (Plus I could never get Boincview to work with the localhost).  A nice quality of life improvement:)

I also set the default 10 second refresh rate to 30 seconds, less time querying the computers and more time crunching instead..
I have 10 Rigs connected, would normally be 11 but one is still down with my bacteria in the waterloop problem...

We don't lose power often, but it does happen here in northern Indiana. Short brownouts while power get rerouted occur every so often. My APC unit is a 1500lcd which obviously cant hack a 1000 Watts. Like bcavnaugh, I have 2 1080Ti and a 6850K overclocked running boinc and folding or mining.

got the same setup and have the cyberpower CP1500FPCLCD puresine, works like a champ.  Actually have 3 of them in my house since they are all for different computers in different locations.

UPS is also good for removing any noise on your line, besides the power function

I've been happy with these UPS ---> I've given up on APC (batteries do not last)
