Yep Grats to the Astros, well played. Yankees fans could and should be excited about the future. Go Dodgers! JK

You can consider this, need ram. I have seen 8 sticks of 4gb (32gb) Samsung EEC-R 1333, for 30-40$ on ebay
I did pick op a set for 25$ Server ram is cheap on ebay.
Goes good with this , uses a regular EVGA 650G or better PSU
There are plenty of cases out these that will work with this.
http://natex.us/intel-s26...rd-dual-e5-2670-sr0kx/

Can use windows 7 pro or win10 pro, or Linux
Can upgrade to 26xxV2 Ivybridge 10/12 core CPUs in the future

found a seller on Ebay with 5 of these with 64Gb of ram, he has it at buy it now of 675 each
I made an offer of 390 for one, now to wait and see.

Astros are up 3 to 2, I am going for the Astros, I'm an American league fan.
No matter who you're for, they have been some good games to watch.
Astros in 7, my prediction
Everyone else in the family is going for the Dodgers because they took out the Yankees.
I feel they bailed on NY , so I am not a fan.

I'm with you, it's better to root for a good team your league than to root for another league entirely. Dodgers left so did the Giants. Broke my father-in-laws heart when the Giants fled. I hope the Astros win it tomorrow!

Certainly has been some good ball, game 5 was exciting to watch I tried to go to sleep but that didnt work.
I never was a baseball fan until this year when a guy I met through the local wood turning club got some free tickets to the
Astros game and brought me along.  I hang out with him 2-3 nights a week and he has slowly indoctrinated
me into watching the the Astros.  Since they are the Local team I gotta root for them.

And overnight the 8350 started locking up and is out of the game.  Time to figure out what to replace it with on the cheap.

Any suggestions on a board and CPU that can use the existing DDR3 Ram for 300 or so.

Worst case, if it IS the CPU Newegg usually has some decent pricing on FX-series octocores - some of them with the new Wrath cooler that works a LOT better than anything they ever used before.
Or try Amazon or EBay for used ones - it's a LOT more common for the motherboard to die than a CPU.

Nothing current for desktops uses DDR3 - Intel moved away from it a few generations back, AMD only moved away from it starting with the Ryzen and A12 that run on socket AM4 - and that 8350 was one of the highest performance CPUs to ever use DDR3 (AMD 9xxx series CPUs were a little higher performance, but those were all MAJOR power hogs and most motherboards don't support them).

Now that vorsholk has stopped his abuse, I'm returning to folding.
I no longer MOO due to abuses by certain "whales" in the Gridcoin community - so I now work the Distributed.net project directly again.

Thanks Quint, I switched out the video card that was in it and used a different PCI socket, as well as re-seating most everything else and now its just getting the error once or twice every few days.
I am going to let it run till the smoke escapes.  I will be looking at different hardware options like bill1024 mentioned here.  I need something that will crunch through things like llrTRP better than my other AMD systems.

Bummer that Driver 373.06 will no longer install on the Fall Creator Update.
So now I have to use the Driver that I use on the GTX 1080 Ti Graphics Cards 378.92
Sucks for Folding Now on Non 1080 Ti Graphics Cards.

We could really use a private forum section to discuss POTM and focus Projects.

Anyone know if that is possible to do here??

I'll ask --> but you can't keep the "Mods" out

You want a section that forum members would have to be manually added to like "marketplace" ?

This to keep your tweaks / customizing advantages / strategy within EVGA Crunching family ?

Just answer my questions, give me some feedback -- so I can forward your request to Management in a clear and concise manner

I have been waiting for an answer from another MOD for over 2 Months for this.
I know we would not be able to keep the Mods out but we do have a few that are not in the best interest of EVGA Teams.
The EVGA DC Captains Group should be the ones to approve Member Access and removal as well.

bcavnaugh and I have PM'ed about this before,

Yes, we want a section that only selected, or approved members can have access to as Crunching@EVGA Team members. Agree bcavnaugh, DC Captains approval only..
Yes, for a private section of tweaks and projects strategies. So 2 separate Threads would be great to start with. Any other comments anyone??

Not a problem for Mods access, so long as they are true Team Crunching@EVGA members.
Not sharing what is posted to other sites or Teams. Otherwise this would be pointless..

Thanks Cool GTX for your attention to our request.

Could one of you PM a list of current "DC Captains"

How many active members (last 2 years ?) are currently on Team EVGA Crunching ?

This will help me understand the scope of this.

I think so as well, maybe like a "Team Only Access" Section.
