bill1024 I am playing with hard drives, SATAIII SSD vs PCIEv2 SSD vs PCIE-NVME VS a RAM drive on x58 and x79 systems Should be the same on newer systems as well
Shouldn't affect Moo noticeably due to the tiny work packet sizes, but projects like Folding with large work packets I can see it having a noticeably effect. The 1080ti system I mentioned above with the "brief dips to 1400-1500 Mhz core clock" runs a Samsung 960 EVO NVMe "ultra" drive - which is amazingly fast even compared to the Plextor SATA SSD in the previous iteration of that system - I'm still getting used to haveing to WAIT on the timer for 10-15 secs in World of Tanks at the start of the battle, instead of it waiting in ME for a couple....
Now that vorsholk has stopped his abuse, I'm returning to folding. I no longer MOO due to abuses by certain "whales" in the Gridcoin community - so I now work the Distributed.net project directly again.

I think you're right Quint, larger tasks with lots of disk write/read will do better.

You got that right, bummer. Tonight's the night, they will put up a good fight and get it right. Then Judge with all his might, will hit it out of sight. Ok that was bad, but you get the idea!

It would be nice if MS would stop calling this type of update a Feature Update and start calling it a New OS Installation. It resets all your settings all your Hacks All your Games and I can go on for hours but then what is the point. MS Should never have gone away from the Simple OS Only Service Packs.

I agree, might be time for me to start learning Linux on some computers. I will have to see how bad they break my stuff this time and decide.

I just turn off update services and update when I am good and ready. Not going to update to the new addition until I have no choice but to. Thinking I may move more systems to Linux, not just the 4P/2P AMDs

Just have a handy download of the full Nvidia drivers, as the MS abbreviated GPU driver is missing some important parts After MS does its thing, you will need to manually reinstall the Nvidia drivers Again

I would say no to the T3500Intel® AES New Instructions > No & Instruction Set Extensions > SSE4.2 Bill1024 would know best about the CPU. (Xeon Quad-Core 2.8 Ghz) would be nice to know which one. I have a T3400 with Windows XP running my Weather Station and that is about all it can do now.
