Anyway to tap into my AC Circuit that is used to power the outdoor unit that contains the condenser coil I would guess? I would think that it is 220 but not sure?

If the Breaker in your panel takes two spots (double wide) you have 220 V for the compressor Probably a label somewhere on your unit - cell phone camera for those that are is strange place have helped in the past Most (All ?) central A/C units are 220 in US Electric ---> Dryer, Water heater & stoves also Trying to make your PCs run twice as fast ?

Yeah the A/C condenser is 220v but I would not tap into that circuit for a 220v line to a computer. Every time the compressor starts and stops I bet there is a good power dip and spike. Also the noise on the line from the motors running and the crankcase heater if there is one. Also the breaker is sized for the wire size and load of the condenser unit. That will add more load it was not designed to handle Just add a 2 pole breaker to your main panel, or remove a device, A/C, dryer, and put in a bigger breaker and add a subpanel Then run the A/c or dryer and new computer circuit off the subpanel. Not a bad Idea to use orange isolated ground sockets to help with line noise, and "to ground" voltage leaks

I did HVAC service, electrical/pnumatic controls, motor/pump/generator and control repair and installation for many years. We have 3 phase 220 and 480v 60hz here, and that is mostly in commercial buildings. Single phase 220v 60hz in most houses. EDIT 60hz not 50 We do have some building with 200v, and I have seen quite a few buildings have 277v lighting circuits. I did a lot of outdoor lighting too. I hated it, did not like the bucket truck thing so much. But for a person who does not likes heights too much, I spent a lot of time on the roof and climbing ladders.

If the wire is #10 and it is a 30amp service to the condenser, you do not want to tap in a wire size #12- 20A, or #14- 15A to that circuit. The breaker is sized to protect the wire, a #12 or 14 can overheat and catch fire on a 30A breaker. Breakers are not to protect the load. Best to add a breaker if you can, or remove a double poll breaker and add a sub-panel. Unless you have an older house where they ran a 220v circuit near a window, where they had a big window A/C unit.

Bill, if you have no spare breakers for a new circuit, they make "piggyback" breakers that you can buy. They are 2 breakers in the space of 1, but on the same phase, they will provide 2 circuits in the space of one breaker. I had to do a couple in my house, they work very well.

Found a quick fix with a 20 foot 8 Gage Cord to use off my Washer Circuit. Looks like this coming year I will need to have a Pro install a new Circuit Panel and add some new 20 Amp Sockets.

Washer circuit's are usually 20 amp but can handle additional lighting and such. What are you going to do with the 8 wire?

Run my T630 from the second socket in the wall. It is hard to find 10 Gage or 8 Gage extend cords.

Okay got it. A 12 gauge would probably be okay. When I was running my 4P it never sucked a lot of amps at 500-600 watts. Maybe spiked a bit at start up. If you have a kill-a-watt meter, check and see what happens when the washer motor kicks in.

It is more for the 1100 watt redundant power supplies on a new UPS I want to test out between two different circuit breakers. I have two T630 Servers now and want them to hold at lest 30 minutes without main power.

I've used a lot of the 2 QO versions of those (the old "long" ones with the full-size handles spaced out a bit and the current side-by-side small handle"short" ones). The "short" ones overheat easier than singles but otherwise work well enough, and if your breaker box is in an Air Conditioned space they shouldn't be an issue at all - and they FIT in place of a standard breaker where the old "long" ones sometimes didn't. I don't think they make them for dual-pole 220 type circuits, but you could swap 4 x single 110 for a pair of dual 110 to open up space for a 220 breaker.
Now that vorsholk has stopped his abuse, I'm returning to folding. I no longer MOO due to abuses by certain "whales" in the Gridcoin community - so I now work the Distributed.net project directly again.

Also, the 1080 ti doesn't do well on the 520 Dnet client that Moo uses by default - doesn't work in OpenCL mode only in CUDA mode and CUDA mode is a 30-40% hashrate hit. Aorus 1080 ti (and probably ANY of the 2.5 slot options from other makers) in OpenCL mode with the 521 client can exceed 10 gigakeys/sec - which is a bit better than I've managed to push my Vega 56 up to and should be fairly close to an air-cooled Vega 64.

Winter has definitely arrived in central Washington - I got to shut one evap down entirely, the other is only running part of the day, and the A/C in the front room spends a lot of time off - my power bill went DOWN last month for the first time in a very long time.

so i remember there was discussion of a member's only area, are we just waiting for EVGA to give thumbs up or down on that? I forgot which thread I was reading that in (sooo many to keep up with ><).
If that doesn't work, did we want to set up a discord? I heard someone mention it. Its free and works great. I use it for several different gaming sites and chats. Would be very easy to set up with restricted access and such.

I think we're still waiting for official EVGA word on the request. Does discord hold on to messages, or is it only real time? Real time is nice, but we need something that people on different time zones and different continents can all use at a time convenient for them, like the forums. Speaking of power cords, I had to use a molex-to-8pin CPU adapter on one of my 2P boards, and it's starting to look brownish. I think it may be overloaded. Is there a better way to get CPU power off spare PCIe power instead?
