Please Do not Post about Other Software in this Thread ie. No Posting about MSI Afterburner or NVIDIA Inspector.

Posting that this software sucks or I have this issue to when are you going to get it fixed and other type comments are not helpful and is Trolling.

Recommending msi afterburner over precision x isn't trolling. Afterburner simply works better than precision x. Not telling people about msi afterburner is just forcing people to be stuck on buggy precision x versions.

My Subject is: Bug Reports and Issues with EVGA Precision XOC
Not: Bug Reports and Issues with EVGA Precision XOC and other Software.
But then you always know what is best, don't you Sajin.

Nothing wrong with reporting bugs. Not telling others about other software that works better is just bs.

I personally appreciated the recommendation from veteran posters on an EVGA forum because it lets me know that MSI afterburner is legit. I'll try it out at some point

I also made the switch thanks to his recommendation.... because of numerous threads on PXOC bugs. Never had a single problem since.

Hello guys,

i noticed some strange behavior on my EVGA GTX 1070 SC:
When i quit a Game, and my fans spined while im playing, the fans turn off
when temp is under 60°C.
Fine so far.
When i close OCX (Version 6.0.7) the fans starts spinning again up to 1200 rpm on top,
then slowly shut down again down to 0 rpm.
I noticed that, because i heard the fans and looked at them.

Is that normal?
Someone else noticed that behavior?
Bdw im running on latest driver and BIOS updates.

Hopefully looking for your help.

OS: Windows 10 Home 64bit
GPU: EVGA GeForce GTX 1080 Ti FTW3 - 385.41 driver
EVGA Precision X OC Version: 6.1.16

PC parts via part picker:

Recently I began to do some overclocking with the precisionX software after the new update. After doing some minimum adjustments (pow 117%, GPU clock + 300 and MemClock + 50), I found that when i press apply the software caused my system to freeze. During this time the monitors (3 in nvidia surround) would, one by one, display a solid color or continue to have the last frozen image displayed. It also appeared that i could not interact with the system. Attempted to restart the machine and the precisionX UI did not load on restarts and the system would freeze after 30-60 seconds.

I restarted in safe mode, cleared precisionX software and nvidia drivers to start fresh with a new install several times, however, the moment i ran the precisionX program the same issue would happen.

On the most recent attempt i found that there was a precision.cfg file which remained after the uninstall, i found it by searching for "EVGA" in my explorer window. Deleted this file and was able to start precisionX and get the UI to appear from a fresh install. From this moment on I felt that i was able to start using the program again and began to set the overclock settings back to where i had them starting with adjusting the power %. The same issue began to happen again after I applied the settings, and this time I patiently waited to see if it would come back. After a few long moments it did. I then made another adjustment to the GPU clock and applied the changes which produced the same behavior, several seemingly long moments of the displays being frozen followed by a short signal boot and then the displays would work again.

Was troubleshooting this still late into last night, ended up making a new profile and adjusting those settings. When i pressed apply for the alternate configuration the system completely froze again. I ran out of patience and manually shut down.

Is this a normal behavior for the program when making adjustments to the OC settings? It did not freeze my system to apply the settings with the previous version.

Anyone else noticing similar behavior?

I run NZXT CAM software for the cpu pump and fan controls. Has not been an issue, just wanted to make mention of it.
