I just want EVGA to fix the issue within the cards. Clearly something is wrong with them, just fix it so I can stop paying $30 each couple of weeks for a replacement.

I said it before.
Someone needs to be "the man" and be willing to send their dead card to Steve (gamersnexus) or Buildzoid (might be faster this way) for a circuit analysis of what failed.
This would be taking it for the team, and would tell everyone if every single card is a ticking time bomb or not.
(heck it might even get fixed for you, or at worst, sent back then you can RMA afterwards).

Has anyone figured out what these red LEDs near power connectors signalize? On ASUS boards similiar LEDs indicate the problem with power. Either not connected or some low-power / power-drop issue. But EVGA's LEDs seem to indicate something different...

my guess is a continuity check, all the lights flash on power on, then one will stay on if it fails

I am still on my replacement and everything is going good so far. About 15 hours gaming and I upgraded to an ultra wide monitor. Why you may ask? Because I hate my PC running flawlessly and figured why not cause myself more stress. Just a heads up the drivers are not great for ultra wide monitors. Got it working now though and card is great so far. I will keep updating as I use it more.

I'm having the same problem. 3090 FTW3.
Worked fine for 5 days, it was good until 3:30pm when it crashed while I had launched Escape from Tarkov. Had some games downloading on steam as well.
Screens went black, no signal. Rebooting the PC didn't bring the screens back. I had to reboot multiple times/turn PSU switch off and on to get it to pick up the monitors again. It then happened probably 8 more times while I tried to debug, sometimes while just sitting in the desktop. It would also flicker before signal loss.
Tried reconnecting all the cables, etc, no luck. Found this thread, seems to be a common problem. Got a RMA pending approval now.

You can play the card until it dies, but that is similar to what happened to my first one. It eventually just died with one red dot. Good luck with your new card.

So today my one of my evga 3090 ultra ftw3 stopped working. I have 2 x evga 3090 ultra ftw3 they were in nvlink. Bought the pc that was mostly made for 3d but also for ocassionally gaming . Since day 1 i had issues with this gpu, when i rebooted my pc it stopped on mainboard screen before windows. a few times. Reinstalled windows, updated everything, still had this issue once in a while, didnt paid much attention to it, thought it may be a windows problem (wish it was). Until today, (i had my pc build in december last year, every part was as new as it gets, even the gpus) when i wanted to start playing a bit cs go i went in game then noticed something was off, game was slow af, lag and idk, maybe fps drop. I had this issue before with my ex pc, when the cpu heated and was slow but fixed it cause the cpu cooler wasnt very good fixed on the cpu. after that, no problemo. But this time it was different, i checked the temperatures, where super fine 30-40°C, at that moment i havent realised that it isnt super fine when the usage of a gpu goes 100% and uses very high power consumption. Anyway, i thought maybe it is a drive issue, tried to go to safe mode to do a ddu but after i restarted to go to safe mode it didnt work anymore as in, the lights on gpu where on but monitor were on stand by, as if it doesnt recognize it anymore. It didnt have any flame sparks or puff. It simply didnt worked anymore. I tried several times to reboot it but the monitors wouldnt jump out of stand by. Then i put a monitor on the other gpu and it worked fine and even now i am writing from the other gpu since i removed the faulty one. I trust EVGA will get better products out but this time, it failed me but at least they have 3 years of warranty. would def. want another one and not going to another company. On my previous pc i have had 1080 hybrid and even after 5 years it works like a charm.

I contacted customer support and was told my problems were caused by my power supply a corsair ax 1200i. I switched to a evga 850 ga and same problem exist. No video signal and a red led light over the first power connection. I'm waiting on their response....

Please contact EVGA technical support again and let them know that a swapped PSU did not fix this issue.

LMAO, your GPU is dead time to RMA... There have been countless threads of Single red LED over the first power connector... Its mind boggling, that people still try to blame other parts of someone's PC, when multiple people have the same symptom...

Is it dangerous to have these things in your computer?
I have a 3080 ftw3 ultra in my machine with a 2012 serial number. Reading about popping and arcing etc. has me worried about what might happen to my other components.

Fired up a benchmark trying to diagnose some minor coil whine, few seconds after the PC reboots and the led above the middle connector is lit. Lasted a week. Is the reboot a common thing? I’ve seen most ppl say they just get a black screen with fans ramping up. My pc literally just rebooted with the light on. It seemed to post as my keyboard and mouse rgb cycled as they normally do just no display.

The only thing I could do was hold my case power button to shut off my system. When the system did shut down, there was a popping sound from the card. Probably blew a capacitor or something. Swapped slots, pci-e cables, reset mobo bios etc and no go. It's being RMA'd but being the first time I bought EVGA, I'm not very impressed or confident that I won't be requesting another RMA in 9 days (give or take). Especially after seeing quite a few other folks are having the same or similar issues. All I can do is hope, or sell it. BTW - power supply is 80 Plus Platinum.

Red light of death here too - RMA'd immediately and new one will be here tomorrow. purchased on 12/26 from amazon direct.

It's mind boggling that some users think this a normal failure rate of a sound design. It's less so that those users are owners of the afflicted SKU.

It's being RMA'd but being the first time I bought EVGA, I'm not very impressed or confident that I won't be requesting another RMA in 9 days (give or take). Especially after seeing quite a few other folks are having the same or similar issues. All I can do is hope, or sell it. BTW - power supply is 80 Plus Platinum.

My 3080 FTW3 was on the way out, getting BSODs and subsequent black screens on startup but otherwise, up until I took it out of the system after getting an RMA going, wasn't doing anything suspect. Was fine in the small number of games I played before starting the RMA. 2012 serial number. I'm wondering if the refurbished cards are actually *less* likely to fail than the brand new ones, because EVGA presumably is fixing whatever is wrong with them when they refurbish. The replacement that'll be coming for me will be brand new, which makes me worry I'll be dealing with another card death. Do you have any sense whether RMA bricking is less common even if the card is new?

I have no data to support whether refurbished is better than new or vice versa. Just have opinions based on what I’m seeing online. There are some reports of multiple RMAs; but not a ton. My original card worked perfectly for 5 weeks and then poof - nobody really knows what’s behind all this...if it’s as wide spread as it appears to be on Reddit and this forum; or if there’s a heavy bias on what we’re seeing because these are help forums. Only EVGA knows - they have all that data ... a statement would be nice. When you get your replacement card just use it - there’s no reason to stress about stuff you can’t control.
