I've had some very odd WUs on my 3090 as well, PPD has ranged from all the way down at 7M to up over 9M at times depending on the WU. It's too bad I didn't get the Kingpin in or I could've pumped out an extra 7-9M PPD consistently instead of how I'm doing right now with the part time gig - but ah well, it's free room heating and doing some thing for a good cause lol

I've passed troy8d and am working my way forward on a slow but steady walk up the rankings, tho, in this range, it doesn't take long to be knocked back a couple of spots, for sure! d

I've been running with -125 on the GPU clock and defaults on the memory and voltage (3090 FTW3 Ultra) to keep the heat down and not stress the GPU too much. Been running mostly ok so far (this is a replacement for an RMA 3090 card), and sits on ~1800MHz most of the time with temps in the upper 60's and voltage ~1.05V. The CPU isn't doing any folding at all.

reboot was at 137 boost - thankfully it went to last checkpoint started at 200mhz boost at first down to 110 it should be stable for anything around 100 boost - scan said so what gets me is my 2080ti is better with some WU's - i think that's due to the core not really recognizing all the cores on the 3090 (older core) most of the difference in folding diff comes from the memory clock - 50% more on the 3090 which responds to a 50% boost in PPD on some work units

Now, remember, folks, it's right there in the rules er, I mean Rulez that you get 'disqualified' for: Passing troy8d at any point after registering for the contest, including prior to the start of the contest, will result in immediate disqualification from the contest. *big grin* But I got my big pimp pants on and some fly lookin' boots that are just itchin' to keep on a struttin' my way up the rankings! Ain't nothing gonna stop this pimp, short of hardware and budget limits. ;-) d

Merry Christmas everyone! Had some issues with my ISP (AT&T) today due to the bomb explosion in Nashville. Had to do some configuration changes in order to get my desktop to use my iPhone hotspot to get a new work unit. Trying to share my throwback Christmas pic here...hopefully it works.

Unfortunately, Precision X1 checks the option for "Stop the task if it runs longer than: 3 Days" in the task scheduler. I've had the same issue and had the cards running near 80C instead of the low 60's where they normally do. I uncheck that now but it has re-checked it on two of my computers.

That knocks me out of the top 40 and I'll probably never make it back! Running the same two 1070s for 4 years straight now (well, I missed a few months with the Covid-19 complications and WUs being unavailable), they put up impressive numbers when they first arrived but can't compete with the newer generation hardware. I used to be able to outpace you drougnor by folding 24/7 despite your bigger guns but it seems the day has finally come that I have to give you a friendly wave as you fly by. Big folding upgrades have never been in my budget and I've been fortunate to have received donations or purchased used hardware at a folding discount from numerous people, many of them still active members of this community, that have kept me folding. So what I'm trying to say is...I hope you had fun in this contest before being disqualified drougnor! We all love you but, rulez are rulez and there is nothing I can do about it...

Yeah, I'm about 30 miles SE of downtown, so no immediate effect. Last I heard there were only a few folks with injuries; hopefully they are able to fully recover.

I had my first failed work units today. I was overclocking one of my 3090’s slowly but surely, and at +150mhz (2100mhz total) it failed the unit. Took it back to +135 (2085mhz) and haven’t failed a unit since.
Also, these 30 minute work units are fantastic.
