bobmitch This can be found under "Optional Updates" in 2004 https://news.softpedia.co...kb4568831-530514.shtml
Thanks... In previous Windows versions (1909 & prior), optional updates would show as available in the Windows update section of settings. Now in v2004 I had to click on the "optional updates" link to see it. Don't know if that's the new normal, or it was like this for this big CU only...

With all those "fixes & improvements", you'd think it would be a normal update. Maybe M$ isn't that confident...? Waiting for the beta testers...?

XrayMan Finally got the go ahead to update to 2004. So far so good. Will update if any problems arise later. Also updated: Security Update for Adobe Flash Player: June 9, 2020 https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/help/4561600/security-update-for-adobe-flash-player
Good luck. I had some flaky issues during install and for a bit in the first few hours post update, but running an update and picking up the latest patches as well seemed to have fixed it. That was about 2-3 weeks ago now. It actually blue screened in the middle of the updating process during one of the reboot/install cycles where it's installing stuff before fully booting. Seemed to be a GPU driver issue though based on the minidump and other than one bluescreen also video driver related (moved to the latest driver AFTER the update to 2004) it's been solid since. The reboot since though was during Folding so I think I had a bad work unit in that case, it wouldn't be the first time one caused that.

I have had a couple hard locks & two bluescreens after updating to 2004 .... but that could also be from the new nvidia driver or the new AMD AGESA Bios update as well... So fairly hard to actually track down the culprit

Only had some minor issues with gaming since 2004 and one issue with Soundblaster Z (had to reinstall drivers to get 5.1 back). As far as gaming...451.85 solved that.

Reported NU Audio issue with Win 10 2004 https://forums.evga.com/FindPost/3069157 Hroft57 Good day, I have a problem - in the game Assasins Creed Odissey, the sound disappears for half a second, it happens after ten to twenty seconds. Moreover, the sound lags not only in the game but also in the browser if it is open in the background. The problems started with the Windows 10 2004 update, there were no problems before. I installed drivers 0.2.1.7 and 0.2.1.10 as well as 0.2.1.11beta and the problem is present on all of them. I output the sound through the monitor from the video card via HDMI (Nvidia HD Audio) and the problem was not observed, which convinced me that the problem was in my EVGA Nu Audio or in the drivers, but since the problem appeared after updating Windows to version 2004 (Win 10 Pro 64) then I think all the same in the drivers. I am very surprised but the latest driver 0.2.1.10 was released on March 3, 2020, is it really such a good driver that there is nothing to add and everyone is happy, at least I'm not. Many manufacturers update drivers much more often and are sure to introduce new drivers with large Windows updates. I already tried a lot to solve the problem, but I still did not solve it, I was very upset because I did not expect that my EVGA Nu Audio would bring me such trouble.
Note: [Quote of Hroft57 above - was edited to add spaces for enhanced readability] Thanks for sharing that "The problems started with the Windows 10 2004 update, there were no problems before."

As stated earlier in the thread...my X299...only issue was Soundblaster Z. After reinstalling the drivers...all good. X99 and Skylake laptop are both flawless with 2004. Mind you both have Realtek sound...

- We have fixed an issue that prevents users from setting the REG_EXPAND_SZkeys in some automated scenarios.
- We have fixed an issue with the EnhancedAppLayerSecurity node in modern device management (MDM) that prevents its setting from being applied correctly to client devices.
- We have fixed an issue that causes a memory leak in the exeprocess when the server is under a heavy authentication load and Credential Guard is enabled.
- We have fixed an issue that might cause a delay of up to two minutes when signing in or unlocking a session on Hybrid Azure Active Directory-joined machines.
- We have fixed an issue that prevents hash signing from working correctly when using the Microsoft Platform Crypto Provider for Trusted Platform Modules (TPM). This issue might also affect networking software, such as virtual private network (VPN) applications.
- We have fixed an issue that continues to display the previous username hint in the smart card sign in box after a different user has used the machine with domain credentials.
- We have fixed an issue that causes communication with the TPM to time out and fail.
- We have fixed an issue that sometimes prevents AppLocker from running an application whose publisher rule allows it to run.
- We have fixed an issue in which AppLocker publisher rules might sometimes prevent applications from loading software modules; this can cause partial application failure.
- We have fixed an issue that causes the promotion of a server to a domain controller to fail. This occurs when the Local Security Authority Subsystem Service (LSASS) process is set as Protected Process Light (PPL).
- We have fixed an issue that prevents you from unlocking a device if you typed a space before the username when you first signed in to the device.
- We have fixed an issue that causes a system to stop working and generates a 7E stop code.
- We have fixed an issue that causes applications to take a long time to open.
- We have fixed classification failures caused by the wrong User Principal Name (UPN).
- We have fixed an issue in cluster scenarios that causes handles to .vmcx and .vmrs files to become invalid after storage failover. As a result, live migration and other virtual machine (VM) maintenance activities fail with STATUS_UNEXPECTED_NETWORK_ERROR.
- We have fixed an issue with interrupt targeting that might cause an interrupt to arrive at an incorrect processor.
- We have fixed an issue that causes delays during shutdown when running the Microsoft Keyboard Filter Service.
- We have fixed an issue that causes a machine to request a new IP address after authentication.
- We fixed an issue that causes the Background Intelligent Transfer Service (BITS) to download data while a device is in cellular mode without explicit user permission.
- We fixed an issue that prevents Always On VPN (AOVPN) from automatically reconnecting when resuming from Sleep or Hibernate.
- We fixed an issue that causes AOVPN user tunnels to use an incorrect certificate.
- We fixed an issue with AOVPN that occurs when user and device tunnels are configured to connect to the same endpoint.
- We fixed an issue that causes VPN apps to stop working in some cases when they attempt to enumerate VPN profiles.
- We fixed an issue that causes the Optimize Drives dialog to incorrectly report that previously optimized drives need to be optimized again.
- We fixed an issue that fails to turn off the host memory buffer (HMB) when you force the shutdown of a device. As a result, solid-state drives (SSDs) do not delete HMB contents.
- We fixed an issue that prevents apps from downloading an update or opening in certain scenarios.
- We fixed an issue that might cause a stop error (0xC00002E3) at startup. This issue occurs after installing certain Windows Updates that were released on or after April 21, 2020.
- We fixed an issue that might cause stop error 7E in syson servers running the Network File System (NFS) service.
- We fixed an issue with Server Message Block (SMB). This issue incorrectly logs the Microsoft-Windows-SMBClient 31013 event in the Microsoft-Windows-SMBClient/Security event log of an SMB client when an SMB server returns STATUS_USER_SESSION_DELETED. This issue occurs when SMB client users or applications open multiple SMB sessions using the same set of Transmission Control Protocol (TCP) connections on the same SMB Server. This issue most likely occurs on Remote Desktop Servers.
- We fixed an issue that causes SMB to incorrectly use the original, cached non-Continuous Available handle to a file. This handle becomes invalid after a network error or storage failover. As a result, applications fail with errors such as STATUS_UNEXPECTED_NETWORK_ERROR.
- We fixed an issue that causes the loss of written data when an application opens a file and writes to the end of the file in a share folder.
- We fixed an issue with some apps, such as Microsoft Excel, that occurs when using the Microsoft Input Method Editor (IME) for Chinese and Japanese languages. You might receive an error, or the app might stop responding or close when you attempt to drag using the mouse.

XrayMan Finally got the go ahead to update to 2004. So far so good. Will update if any problems arise later.
Still on 1909. Are you suppose to get it on your own or will it make its way to the Win Update channels?

Sept 8, 2020 KB4571756 https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/help/4571756/windows-10-update-kb4571756 Version: OS Build 19041.508 Highlights Updates to improve security when using input devices (such as a mouse, keyboard, or pen).Updates to improve security when Windows performs basic operations.Updates for storing and managing files.Updates to improve security when using Microsoft Office products.
Improvements and fixes
This security update includes quality improvements. Key changes include:
- Addresses an issue with a possible elevation of privilege in windowmanagement.dll.
- Addresses a security vulnerability issue with user proxies and HTTP-based intranet servers. After installing this update, HTTP-based intranet servers cannot leverage a user proxy by default to detect updates. Scans using these servers will fail if the clients do not have a configured system proxy. If you must leverage a user proxy, you must configure the behavior using the Windows Update policy “Allow user proxy to be used as a fallback if detection using system proxy fails.” This change does not affect customers who secure their Windows Server Update Services (WSUS) servers with the Transport Layer Security (TLS) or Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) protocols. For more information, see Improving security for devices receiving updates via WSUS.Security updates to Windows App Platform and Frameworks, Microsoft Graphics Component, Windows Input and Composition, Windows Media, Windows Shell, Windows Cloud Infrastructure, Windows Fundamentals, Windows Management, Windows Kernel, Windows Virtualization, Windows Storage and Filesystems, the Microsoft Scripting Engine, and the Microsoft JET Database Engine.

Still haven't seen 1744 yet, got 1756 yesterday though. I'm on Win2004, who knows lol guess I'm not worthy of it. I did see on MS's website that it was titled as a preview so maybe they're just phasing it in slowly.
