Looks like I'm still waiting for it.  "Your computer isn't ready yet"  I guess it could be worse, at least it didn't get forced on me and break something.  From what I understand it's probably drivers aren't ready yet.  Apparently a bunch of Realtek stuff (not sure if Network or Sound) isn't ready yet and I have both a 2.5g Realtek LAN port and Sound onboard.  Hardware is all fairly new though so that's the only realistic reason I can come up with.

W10 appeared on my update today.

Made a clone and installed 2020/2004. Went ok except at 92 percent where it sat for 15 minutes or so. I used System Mechanic to defrag the memory a few times and it started moving again after a couple of minutes. Now sure if the defrag worked it or not. There are two 3.5 frame installs after the major install is completed.

Restarted several times and only had one minor issue that was resolved with draining the power. The W10 feels a bit more snappy and to my biggest surprise I gained 22GB of disk space after running Disk Clean Up. I'm not missing anything (documents that I can find) and everything works - printer, monitors, sound, chrome browsers, SSD still has over provisioning, etc.

Easiest Windows install for me in a long time. Glad I didn't force install it.

Did your disk cleanup delete the rollback stuff for the previous version?  It's around 20GB usually and is the Windows.old folder.  It holds onto it for 2 weeks then deletes it automatically normally.

I always delete prior Widows files for the space and use the clone if I need to restore.

I started off with 454GB remaining prior to download and after update install and Disk Clean the SSD shows 476GB of free disk space. I checkEd my documents and disk management for over provisional space and everything is there.

Yeah thought this inclusion was cool too .. but makes me wonder why not add it in for CPU also?

I am always deleting the rollback stuff before the two week mark when I see everything is running smoothly.

Yeah, seems like you could tap the BIOS for the CPU temp. Even older boards have that.

What is the two week mark you speak of?

Do you remember how much disk space you gained by deleting the rollback compared to what you started with?

The new version of Windows holds onto the restore folders (that 20ish GB I mentioned that you said you delete right away) for two weeks then auto-deletes it after that.

A reference to Storage Sense that will automatic cleaning up previous installation of files after is ten days and yeah saying two weeks was wrong. I never let go that long.

Perhaps 11.5 GB or so maybe? Every system will be different.

The layout is a little bit different. I'm not able to get to the last post in the thread anymore when I click on the name like I did before. I have to scroll down to go to the last post. That's the only thing that went wrong that I can see so far.

Update for the new Microsoft Edge for Windows 10, version 1803, 1809, 1903, 1909, and 2004

The layout is a little bit different. I'm not able to get to the last post in the thread anymore when I click on the name like I did before. I have to scroll down to go to the last post. That's the only thing that went wrong that I can see so far.

That hasn't ever worked for me in Chrome (or at least for a looooooong time).  I just assumed it's a bug with the forum software.  I have the new Edge but haven't really played with it all that much still.  Thoughts vs Chrome?  I did put Edge on my tablet and phone as well so I can sync all the bookmarks I imported from Chrome.

I really don't use Chrome all that much, so I really can't compare them. Some things I see in the new Edge is nice, but I'm not as happy as I was before the update TBH.

go to last unread post worked when going from win 7 to win 10 a few months ago
    sure was nice...
So, is there a fix on this forum for this ???
    thanks

With my experience and having ran into this a few times with customer systems, in 1903/1909 and 2004 there's an update that breaks Brother, Ricoh and other printer functionality.

The updates causing the trouble are KB4560960 for Windows 10 and Server 1903 (build 18362), 1909 (build 18363), and KB4557957 for the 2004 version (build 19041) released on 9 June.

    1903 and 1909:

    - download and install the Hide and Show Update Troubleshooter
    - uninstall KB4560960, restart the PC
    - run the Troubleshooter and hide the KB above
    - Done!

    2004:

    - download and install KB4567523
(no need to uninstall the problematic KB4557957); this KB fix won't be pushed to Windows Update until July
    - Done!

Well, for the 2nd time I've ripped out KB4497165.  Microcode update for Intel stuff, I'm running a Ryzen 3700X though.  Seems to be causing random bluescreens that are apparently messed up enough that volmgr complains after the restart that it couldn't create the dump file so I can even find out what the culprit might be.  Every time I uninstall this update the issue goes away.  It's weird it worked fine for about a week to 10 days after I last reinstalled it, then I started finding my PC had restarted around once every 18-24 hours for multiple days in a row.  Some days I assumed a bad Folding WU, but other days it did it while nothing was running and it was just sitting on the desktop.  I need to find out how to block this update.  I've read where people said they created a policy or something to block an update so that's my next research project, finding out if that's something I can actually do.

Woooo success!  I found out MS actually has a tool you can download and use to do it.  I've now hidden that stupid update for now.  https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/help/4026726/windows-10-hide-updates-or-driver-updates

Nice, I'm about to take the plunge on 2004 in a few minutes when my current Folding unit finishes.  Hope it goes well.  Backed stuff up in case but yeah.  Always end up having to at least re-calibrate my monitor color profiles after since Windows is essentially installing a new version and migrating everything.  They're still there but disassociated with the correct monitors as defaults.

Uh, well, I'm updated to 2004..............for now.  Blue screened in the middle of one of the "reboot/install" cycles (crashdump showed an Nvidia error) and my Sonic Studio control software for the Realtek audio was busted until I ran a repair utility.  Also had one hang/reboot (with no crashdump) and a solid just hang after when it came back up.  The first one, actually the mouse just stopped responding, but keyboard was still active.  Got up to unplug/replug the mouse and as I plugged it in I heard my fans ramp up and it was at the BIOS screen on bootup.

Seems to be behaving for now though.  Also ran a Windows Update which picked up a couple updates.  Gonna watch it cautiously in case I need to roll back in the next 10 days.
