To those that asked for the new modded BIOS, can you please take a bit of time and let me know if it is working out for you and if yes, how well?

So far I have the following versions out for testing:
E758
E759 (tested, works fine)
E760
E762
E768

I would appreciate it greatly!  Thanks!

using RAID to control drives will ensure that any non-RAID drives default to using AHCI and any RAID drives to use RAID.

May be a dumb question, but is that statement just for your modded BIOS, or is that true for the EVGA X58 bios in general?

So should we be using the RAID option instead of the AHCI option, or only if we're using your modded BIOS, which I'm very interested in....  I don't run RAID currently, but may in the future, for now I'm just running a single SSD...

This is true in general, but I just went a step further and am forcing the user to use AHCI through RAID, instead of straight AHCI.  The RAID ROM is dependent on AHCI ROM existing and it does not work without it, whether Phoenix or Intel.  In the case of my modded BIOS I have as I said (a) made RAID mandatory, and (b) taken advantage of Intel RAID ROM interacting with Intel AHCI ROM for hopefully better compatibility with some SSD that run outside of RAID array or as part of a RAID array.

The E760 seems to work fine, The only new thing I have noticed is that the AHCI Bios loads before the RAID BIOS. It detects the drives and then the RAID BIOS detects them again. Is it what you intended? I used to never see the AHCI bios load in RAID mode.

It always loaded, but the hand-off from Phoenix AHCI ROM to Intel RAID ROM was quicker.  Personally, I like the Intel AHCI ROM better as it is more standard and much more widely used than the Phoenix AHCI ROM.  It should also be more compatible so any devices "handed-off" to the RAID ROM should experience less compatibility issues than they did with the Phoenix AHCI ROM.  Of course, I have no true way of verifying this so it's user-beware   I've been using this combo for a few days now on the E759 and have had zero issues.  Adding to this, it allows those that take advantage of the PXE ROM to run the newest PXE ROM from Realtek, something that was not possible in combination with the Phoenix AHCI ROM, probably because of somewhat non-standard addressing that ROM uses and/or the much larger memory footprint it requires to run which exhausted addressable space with this BIOS.

Thanks dejahn, E758 78N working great, zero issues. Stable with my current OC as well. Seem to be getting better write speed on my SSD's in RAID 0, as well. System feels noticeably snappier. Can't thank you enough for your efforts.

I have not done any extensive testing but I am happy as clam so far!

No, sorry, no ISO.  I do not believe that you will be getting better OCs unless you are on a very old BIOS right now.

i just ordered another intel g2 because newegg shot me a 20% off coupon i couldnt pass up.  my question is, should i even bother with raid on my main rig? or should i just use it my lil' ones rig re-vamp?  after reading most of this thread, it seems not to be worth the  bother? or will it be worthwhile because of your bios?
