I wasn't able to boot my pc with this bios even at default clocks so I flashed back to 760s61b bios and everything works fine.

What type of configuration do you have?

Dejanh,

Would it be possible to get the AHCI mode back as an option? I found out that I needed it at times when I want to flash the rom on my ssd for example. It is annoying to have to take the drive out and put it on the Jmicron port.

Put it to IDE, works just the same for flashing SSD firmware   With the Intel AHCI ROM the AHCI option does not work so if you really need AHCI they I'm afraid you will have to go back to 78M or the official 78 BIOS.

You forgot to list the motherboard...also, when you said you are unable to boot even at stock, what post-code do you get stuck on?

Are you running AHCI mode for your OS drive?  If you are you need to first install the latest Intel RST drivers that have RAID support, then try flashing the BIOS.

I think that you are running into an issue where Windows is expecting to load AHCI drivers after you flash the BIOS but since there is no AHCI any more and RAID is the primary controller you cannot load the OS any more.  You may want to try RAIDfix http://mike.geek-republic.com/software/raidfix/ but use it with caution.

didn't have any problem per se, they just did not seem as snappy to me and they consistently showed a little lower numbers in bench's, certainly nothing you would ever notice in a windows environment

I also found RST version 10.1.2.1004 to be not working as well as 10.1.0.1008.

EVGA used to be a great company (I've been a customer since early 2005). But after 2017 it went completely downhill. EVGA doesn't treat customers as customers, but as complete idiots! I used to own over 30 EVGA products (videocards, motherboards, PSU's and so on). Not anymore. #evga #pathetic

Not really, no.  I feel that we are probably loosing out on the most major benefits of these updated drivers by not matching the right firmware with the right drivers.  Same idea as when you install very new applications on a very old OS.  Generally you are either lacking features or encountering performance/stability issues.

We need the new ROM.

I updated my work pc, which is an Asus P5Q Deluxe, also with the latest Intel RAID ROM. My work pc has also an SSD and I noticed a speed increase of approx. 20% (or just above that percentage).

Exactly it's like running Windows 3.11 on a Intel 990X with 24 GB RAM and 3x GTX 580 SLI.
Or in layman terms; it's like driving a Lamborghini with a DAF engine.

Probably running non-raid and only AHCI, if I am not mistaken, denjanh updated that one with his modded bios. But unfortunately not the RAID ROM.

The modded BIOS doesn't have RAID ROM updated (we can not do this without EVGA). It has a much better AHCI ROM, though, which is going to help all devices that are not a part of any RAID array.

I'm going to try to cut this short as I'm a Newbie

I have a EVGA x58 SLI 3 way  E767

Is  BIOS 78M the best flash to have right now?

I went to update my Marvell controller to 1.0.0.1701 and I get a physical media error but it  boots up fine.

I hit crtl + M like a mad man and the marvell bios do not come up...doing something wrong here?

I then tired to flash it back to a older verison the 1.0.0.1407 and still get the same thing.

Also like to point out regardless of what version I put in the Marvell Adapter version does not change.  (I was thinking the bios and adapter version are the same thing just name differently)

Any ideas?

I'm trying to get the most up to day bios/everything else in between to get max performance.

Also wouldn't mind having the original as well.

Thanks guys/gals

Are you asking a question about the Marvel ROM or about the BIOS in general...I am not clear what you are asking from your post.

Sorry for the newb question, but how do you upgrade the BIOS with a bin file? I've updated my BIOS many times, but have always used the EVGA provided ISO's and burned them to discs.
