Not 100% dead, the new bios is using a Pheonix AHCI rom, a newer one but still not Intel's. Wonder why Intel's AHCI rom want in there and if it would work 100% of the time when manually swapped in. I'm assuming it will be the same issue as before, if not they probably would of used it instead of a newer Pheonix one that probably required no modifications.

Its weird, the rom works, but if I had to guess, it communicates slightly differently with the bios then the Phoenix one, which is why it cant be controlled from it and doesn't pass back drive info.

It's great that we have the new RAID ROM now, but the issue that I'm seeing is that, since they had to customize it, we're gonna be at EVGA's mercy again when it comes to updating to a newer version down the road. And since EVGA didn't do the customization, but rather Intel and Award, it's gonna be even harder to get a hold of. Guess we'll have to wait and see.

I really don't care any more. I will live with this BIOS and upgrade or side-grade. Too much energy spent on this.

Dejanh, BIOS 80 didnt work on my E759. My ICH10 RAID0 configuration didnt show up at all. I was running your bios before i went to 80. Jacob didnt reply my question on that bios thread. Now i moved back to EVGA 78 its showing up ICH10 RAID0 drives. My os drives are stting on a LSI controller.
What would be issue with 80 on my E759?

EVGA boards have always been good to me for the most part, but I have to say, the lack of BIOS updates might just spur me to another company's board next upgrade... Shame they can't update their stuff...

Yeah, my next build won't be EVGA anymore due to these problems and incompetency. I think EVGA will be the next Abit.
Don't get me wrong; I love EVGA products, but due to lack of bios updates (firmwares), I really have to make a decision to switch.
Also it seems with the X79 chipset, EVGA is lacking behind. Oh well...

Attn Dejanh,
Was wondering which one of your modded bioses are best for a 759? On bios 82 right now with a single SSD, and four drive raid 5 array. Would there be a benefit to upgrade to your bios? Anyone else try this bios successfully?

Thanks guess they're not valid like you said. I found an old one for a e758 to see if there was an option to show a boot logo. Looks like there was and that evga got rid of it. Trying to re-enable it on 83 for kicks. Even possible I wonder?

Davabled, Thanks for the link. Looks like that bios also does not contain an option to enable/disable the boot menu. At best I can get a boot menu to display after a cmos reset. May have to settle for small rewards on an old board don't really care but would be nice to figure out how. Thanks Edit: Looks like version 44 had that build it in. Theres still hope.

If you're referring to the EVGA logo "splashscreen", the last version with that was S22D. http://cdn.evga.com/bios/X58/E759S22D.binKeep in mind that S22D and earlier BIOSes don't support the 6-Core CPUs BIOS 44 was the version in which they removed the logo in order to have room for future CPU support and features. BIOS 44 still had the "option" for enabling the logo in the BIOS setup, but the option doesn't actually do anything since the logo had been removed.

Wish it still had the option as I was able to squeze in a 16 Color bitmap logo in there. Unfortunately it only loads after a cmos reset. Wish I knew what register or address in memory in nvram has that turned off so I can manually set it on. I mean on my X99 board I can load up this app called RU from an Efi shell command prompt and make changes to bios settings based on an IFR text dump of the setup program. If I could figure out how to do that on an Award bios it would solve that problem.
