I am attempting to keep a running change-log of the BIOS updates for the
X58 3X-SLI Classified Limited Edition (part number 141-BL-
E759-XX). This should be useful for people who miss an update. It is highly recommended to quickly browse the "discussion" link for each BIOS before installing it.
Most recent update is on top. The discussion link will send you to the relevant forum topic discussing that particular BIOS revision (which will also give you links to all available download types), and the download link will give you a direct link to the relevant .bin file.
Unless otherwise noted, all changes are cumulative (so each latest BIOS will contain the changes of all the previous BIOSes)
September 2nd, 2011 83 OFFICIAL Discussion Download- Updates CPU Microcode
- Improved CPU Support
April 22nd, 2011 82 OFFICIALDiscussion Download- Fixes known issues with VT (Virtualization Technology), VT should now be properly enabled or disabled and also should not need to double-pump boot on a warm reboot.
- Fix spacing on Intel RAID Rom Text (making it a little bit easier to read the POST screen)
April 13th, 2011 81 OFFICIALDiscussion Download- Fix cold reset when VT is enabled (removes the clock reset causing the “double-pump boot”, but be advised VT may not work correctly without a cold reboot.) Note: many users seem to have problems with VT not working correctly with this BIOS.
- Adds screen clear before invoking option rom (Fix the screen read-out which was dificult to read/garbled in the previous BIOS)
- Updates Intel RAID Rom to 10.5.0.744 (NOTE: The Acceleration feature is not usable on X58 chipset, it's a feature that will be available on future boards such as the X68). EVGA had to have this RAID ROM customized to fit into the Award BIOS
- Updates CPU Microcode to version 13
- Updates
Intel Phoenix AHCI Rom to 1.07.10 - Updates JMicron ROM to 1.07.25
- Updates Realtek PXE Rom to 2.39
- This BIOS will have problems reading drive partitions large than 2 Terabytes

· Added TRL (Read Latency) setting to assist with memory compatibility while overclocking. Option located under Memory Feature : TrL Setting @ the bottom of page (-3,-2,-1,0,+1,+2,+3 , default is 0).
Shamino recommends trying +2 if RAM disappears on you when overclocking.
May 27th, 2010 70 BETA Discussion Download Changes:
· Improved Memory Compatibility
· Improved Memory Overclocking
May 12th, 2010 64OFFICIAL Discussion Download Changes:
· Adds 1.5x UnCore support for b1 stepping 32nm CPUs
· Displays how many GPUs were detected during POST
· Adds RC / AC setting in Memory Timings section of BIOS menu – this is an experimental performance tweak option for 32nm CPUs
Now you can see if you used too much Vaseline in PCIe slots / one card got too cold in seconds - Peter Shamino April 23rd, 2010 59OFFICIAL Discussion Download Changes:
· Corrects issue with boot screen hang on some RAID 0 SSD setups
April 16th, 2010 56 OFFICIAL Discussion Download Changes:
· Updates CPU Microcode based on a critical microcode patch from intel to improve stability for six-core/32nm CPUs to address lock-ups and blue screens
· Extreme cooling mode improvements when using a 6-core CPU – BIOS shows 2.055v CPU PLL when X-Cool jumper is moved (1.60v Real)
· For 6 Core CPUs, BIOS allows reduction to 4 or 5 cores
March 31st, 2010 5253 OFFICIAL Discussion Download Changes:
· Updates VT to correct issue with not enabling on specific setups. (To paraphrase EVGA_Jacob: The Previous BIOS update had some issues with VT on some setups, this BIOS reverts back to the old method before these issues were introduced - so when VT is enabled, the system will do a full shutdown/restart when warm re-booting)
· Corrects issue where memory timings change after S3 resume on some configurations.
March 10th, 2010 49(Displays as BIOS 50)
OFFICIAL Discussion Download Changes:
· Removes shutdown action (a.k.a. "Double Pumping" or "Power Cycling on a warm reboot") when enabling Virtualization Technology
· Sets ICH Voltage to 1.1v as Default (primarily in an effort to address USB problems, previously defaulted to 1.05v)
· Please also see the notes for the 44 BIOS, they apply to this BIOS as well.

Changes:
· Supports 32nm Desktop CPUs (32nm Xeons might NOT work)
· Added "Turbo Performance" option (may boost performance if enabled) Note: Defualts to off. This tweek is intended for 32nm Gulftown core processors; "enabling it for bloomfield should yield no benefit and may have the 2:8 ratio limitation with bloomfield" Enabling this on a 45nm CPU may cause issues including incorrect memory ratios
· Fixes 1866MHz Memory Ratio
· Removes the Boot Logo/Splash Screen (the logo was taking up too much memory in the BIOS and was removed to make space for more BIOS code) Note: the Boot Logo option is still listed in the BIOS settings screen, this option can now be ignored.
