Installed 2 Hydro Coppers today :

74.9 ASIC
82.7 ASIC

They boost to 1354 mhz outta the box
vcore on one is 1.187
other is           1.149

seems like I got some overclock potential :)

Just got my second Gigabyte 980 Ti G1 in. ASIC of 77.3, boosts to 1380 out of the box. I haven't even tried to dial in the max overclock as I get 1501 MHz stable (1515 MHz boost) without even touching the voltage, and so I see no reason to!

61.5 on my Hybrid. A little bummed about it, but I've been so busy with work these past couple days i haven't had much of a chance to play with it yet.

You have to understnad, GPU-Z and 3D Mark will read their base clocks and boost clock before GPU Boost 2.0, so it will always be lower than you see in reality.

62.9% on stock 980ti ACX 2.0 here. I am just a little disappointed that I am under the "magic" 70% as I did pay a small fortune for it. I did expected better quality control from EVGA. Well, I suppose I can live with it, if it doesn't start crashing on me.

Thank you. Tried that already, but can't get anywhere near 1500 MHz on air with my Classy.

And for Witcher 3 everything above 1442 MHz on the Core gives me red circled artifacts in GPU-heavy areas, while in other games 1470 MHz is no problem.

From what I've read the whole asic = better chip really isn't all that true. Correct me if I'm wrong.

So...many...arguments :p. I've read quite a few heated discussions concerning ASIC and I believe it does indicate lower voltage requirements and therefore probably is a measure of overclocking potential, but I'm not an electronic engineer ;).

This ASIC thing is confusing me more than ever because my classy has a ASIC of 88.7
and i had to add voltage so i would not get black screens when gaming?
I did no manual overclock to the card,it is running at factory speeds so this is really confusing?
IF a high ASIC has better/higher voltage why do i have to boost mine +83mv in afterburner?
If i don't some games will go to a black screen with audio and i have to re-boot the tower
to get out of it.

I just got my replacement 980 from MSI and it has an ASIC of 79.3, is that good? The other board has an ASIC of 79.0 and they both boost to 1500 MHz at +146 in MSI Afterburner with no voltage boost applied.

What do you use for testing if the OC is stable ? Heaven benchmark crashes on 2650x1440p extreme settings ... I lowered it down and starting from the bottom again with 25+ increase and keeping it running for 30 minutes .. I keep it at stock voltage.. should I increase it ?

Did you test your OC with games ?! I want to find an overclock that will be stable for all benchies or games ... I had an over clock of 100+ which was fine for 3dmark and crashed in heaven benchmark...

No voltage increase .. Should I increase the voltage ?!

You can try boosting the voltage if it isn't stable. I boosted my old board by .46v and my boost clock increased by 26 MHz. I haven't tried any voltage increase with this one yet but I expect the same results. My overall voltage under load was 1.237 and the max allowed according to the spec sheet is 1.250.

I am at 50+ / 100+ so far and with no voltage increase and it seems stable. no crashes so far , 30-45 minutes run in Heaven benchmark. I am stepping core by +25 and memory by +50.

Do you use Precision X or another OC utility ?

I use MSI Afterburner 4.1.0 since it's more stable than PrecisionX 16. I don't like version 4.1.1 because I have too many problems with it but it's all that MSI has listed right now.
http://gaming.msi.com/features/afterburner
Uninstall PrecisionX first and reboot if you want to try it. If 4.1.1 gives you problems i can upload 4.1.0 for you.

Yes. I know that Precision X has problems. No matter how vcore I add , and voltage , it was giving same results as stock voltages / cores. I was starting to think I had bad cards but when I tried MSI , I kew that Precision X was the problem.

I am on AB 4.1.1, If you can send me a link of 4.1.0 in private message, I will try it too. but what kind of problems are you facing with 4.1.1 ? Is it not stable ? does 4.1.0 allow you to reach higher stable clocks ?

I was getting 'DirectX Device Removed' errors for some reason. I never ask about these things at Guru3D forums since Unwinder comes unglued too easy.

Especially when it is a known problem listed in the release notes but nobody bothers to read them. Unwinder will answer your questions if you ask them in a professional manner and take the time to try to recreate the problem to help you with it. Ranting and criticizing his work doesn't help at all.

Got my 980 ti classified at microcenter yesterday and gpu-z gives me an ASIC score of 77.8%
boost to over 1400mhz out of the box.
I love being able to see the gpu stats on my keyboards lcd. clock, temp, fan speed, mem usage, and fps.
very happy
