fragility_V1 Got slightly colder last night in SoCal and was able to beat my previous score. http://www.3dmark.com/pr/740477 Don't think I can push it much farther without some lower temps to keep the clock speeds up. Getting glitchy/unstable at higher clocks trying to compensate.
Stock bios/voltages?
Heck no. My card's nowhere that good. 1.25 NVVDD, 1.43125 FBVDD on the XOC bios.

Nice job! What was the actual offsets you were using?

+220 on GPU clock, +1500 on mem. Couldn't typically get over +200 GPU, +1200 mem. Temps were down in the lower 40s (F) outside last night (could see my breath, not often in SoCal) thought it was a good night to try and pull the outside air in to bring down ambient some.

I know what you mean. I'm in Orange County, California and the temp is 64F right now. Not cold enough blowing through the radiator. +220? I think the count is as follows: 105 120 135 150 165 180 195 210 225 240 255 Those are the actual core clock change stages. So 220 is really +210 It's 15mhz between changes On really cold nights I can get 240 to 255, but memory seems to be lacking for me so I usually stop about 1400.

Oh yah I know, I'm in South OC. Coldest night so far was yesterday, hoping for a few more in the next couple months. Likely won't see a block for my open loop during that time. Got a 5 pack of the Arctics (+1) for push/pull on the rad. Thanks for the step table, didn't bother looking for it. Might try 225 then. I know I was crashing at 240 (I was stepping at 20).

No problem. Right now 240=2265 up to like 2310 depending on temperature of core. So keep that in mind. Because scores that were low with certain clocks before will gain anywhere from 1 to 4 bins depending on temps. So always start there first. (Your best before you got it colder)

@John- What is a good way to test silicon quality? Is it by lowering the voltage or the load and seeing how high the clocks can go? I have not been able to get to 2200 MHZ, but I got close. I only spent a couple hours benching and it was basically run after run and heat soak was setting in. My starting temps kept getting higher and higher. Sort of like a supercharger when running on the track lol IA2's get hot. I think I was at 2175 or 2190 but my starting temps just kept creeping up. Got some cold air coming this weekend to SFLA and I want to be ready.

Lock the voltage at 1.1V using Classified tool. No other changes need to be made. Then just start about 150 on core and max slider for voltage and power and see if you can complete the bench. If you do, then move to next bin (165) Keep doing this till you crash. Then do the same for memory(Start at about 1200 and move in 50 or 100 blocks). After all that, then introduce some form of cold air on your radiator. To see if you pick up a bin or two. It also isn't just about the gpu it's about the os and drivers and a whole host of other things as well, so keep that in mind.

Thanks! I have not touched PX1 as I wanted to wait for them to address the firmware bricking issue. I have been using AB for years now anyway but I noticed that the voltage slider is greyed out. I guess I need a newer Beta version that is floating around here. I will give those things a shot. I was able to get +160 on core without any voltage adjustments in classified or dipswitch changes and no voltage slider, but that was the best I could do. It would crash at anything over that at the start of the run. Cold air is coming this weekend, but not that cold.. and I can't easily get that air to the radiator but I will try. I was able to get a higher offset on core and mem after tweaking the voltages in classified. As far as the OS, I'm using a bloated OS with tons and tons of software on it lol, driver is the latest hotfix, my ram is only 3200 MHZ and my CPU is not overclocked. I know all these things are probably seriously holding me back. I will work on all that soon and get back to it. Thanks for your help!

I thought the same thing about PX1 and flashing, but I went back to stock 450W vBios, then I ran the newer PX1 and let it do it's thing and no problems. The difference between PX1 and AB is PX1 has boost lock mode while AB doesn't seem to work for that using the modified default.usf file. Or I haven't figured it out yet. +160 is the same as +150. You would need to run +165 No problem.

Got around to ducting portable AC unit to radiator.. Seem to be stuck at 2235 Max.. I dug out my 3900x just to see what affect I would get over the 5950X and 3950X. (seem to have 150-250 point loss over intel) https://www.3dmark.com/pr/749370 I do not see any 3900X scores above me! LOL. I have put the card back in my 9900K system and will see how that does tomorrow.

I'm kind of regretting my 5900X purchase. I guess that is the downside to early adopter. I'm glad to know that it isn't the card holding me back from getting higher into the 15k range. All the specs and features should mean faster. Benchmarks aside seems to run well enough in games. Would be nice to see Jay or GN do an intel vs AMD 3090 comparison.

I always look for the blue box when shopping for a CPU. If it doesn’t say “Intel Inside” or “Genuine Intel” it might be a Cyrix or AMD.

Thanks ! Just need waterblock for Kingpin. Running 1600 watt psu for pc and king pin and 1000 watts for Ultra by its self and It is shunted . Think its crashing some on spikes for lack of head room.

I have never posted here yet but I would like to start. I love overclocking and have done it for a few years just kinda messing around. I worked my way up to 16th in Port Royal last year with my daily driver that has two kingpin 2080ti's. I have always wanted to play with LN2 so I just dove in head first and went for it. I have clawed my way up to 4th and going to work on more this weekend. 31922 I am running an X299 with 2 Kingpin 3090's on LN2.

EricSimonSPT I have never posted here yet but I would like to start. 31922
Great Score: Good luck on # 1
I see your coming up behind me. Great job!

Sajin It's normal. Why? Because protections are bulit into the three normal vbios that the card ships with. You want no pwr throttle you run xoc 1000w vbios. :)
I would actually argue that in some cases this isn't true. It seems like it just removes whatever check is being done because without significant tweaking it can actually perform a lot worse than with the power limit constantly being pegged. There have been many reports of people getting clocks stable around 2100+ and scores severely dropping, indicating to me that the check being removed is causing whatever actually was the cause of the power limit to exceed a thermal spec causing significantly worse performance.

QueueCumber Well, I finally installed the new KPE RMA card. Surprise, surprise, it is a total dud. The card won't run PR most of the time even at ALL STOCK SETTINGS. Its favorite activity is freezing during the load screen so far.... EVGA may have amazing customer support, but their quality control is absolute garbage.
I've seen this on ATR's livestream. It was a faulty power supply causing it. Exact symptoms. Suggest trying a PSU swap. Right when PR engages the current spikes and some power supplies don't like it and cause it to crash.

Side note: Has anyone been able to fix the card switching to 2D mode on the XOC bios? At idle it uses 120W+ which doesn't let the card cool down and the current draw is annoying.
