I'm seriously looking at the Maximus Z690, so if EVGA doesn't move within the next 10 days and get this board to the consumer like fast!
I'll be throwing some serious cash somewhere else. I can see from other postings, I'm not alone!
What gives EVGA?

I hope they give a date soon. At least it's something to look forward to. DDR5 ram is hopefully going to be restocked at the end of NOV as well. It's why I'm not itching too bad yet.

Maybe if we all wish for it, it'll come true. On a count of 3 say it with me "We wish you a merry christm..." no wait... "We wish to have some news on the Z690 EVGA Motherboards"

Where did you get this info on restock on Nov?

I guess people that cant wait for a motherboard and decent ddr5 ram and claim to be dropping EVGA because the z690 inst out yet don't have a computer right now and need something right away? Looks like the real only option for ddr5 right now anyway is some run of the mill corsair stuff.  I think by the time the good ram starts hitting evga will have the boards out int he wild.
Part of my wants to think they are tweaking the bios for ram etc.  But the other part of me is PISSED they seem to have abandoned the z590 already.

I don't blame EVGA for any of this because the chip shortage is world wide from everything to cars, computers, etc... The only reason I jumped to ASUS was because I read recently that this chip shortage might possibly go until mid late 2022 or early 2023 and I don't want to have to wait a year to build a computer because of this issue. It is bad enough that I had to just give up on trying to get a 3080 or 3080 Ti as it had been over year since they launched, and still I can't get one anywhere without having to pay double the price which I am not going to do that.

I have always been ASUS or ASrock for motherboards.  I am still in the middle of a rebuild for my X570 5950x rig and ended up going ASUS CH VIII Extreme since I could not get an EVGA X570 Dark.  Still waiting on the damn CPU cooler I wanted from EK.

Planning and collecting parts for my secondary rig rebuild as well.. and while I snagged a 12900k at just under msrp due to discount I don't have DDR5 ram or a motherboard I want.  I could consider this one if its not stupidly priced and actually is available soon.  EVGA boards are legendary.

However I am also looking at some ASUS boards..   I sent the Maximus Formula z690 I snagged back unopened since I am not doing a liquid build, had second thoughts.... been checking out Apex and I really want to just buy it but.. holding out for this or maybe that ASrock Tachi z690 if its ever released.  But if this is going to be another no product until 7 months out thing then hard pass and I guess I end up with ASUS Apex or even the Z690 Tachi when its released..

---Main Rig Build ---

I feel this, I'm just impatient now. I have my 12900k sitting ontop of my rig right now waiting on a home. Have my EKWB Velocity2 block on order. So now I just need some RAM and a board. Considering the KPE, APEX and the Godlike (Just because the godlike is pretty cool looking, hate to say it the aesthetics are swaying me immensely.) Doing my absolute best to avoid Gigabyte this go around after De8uar had shown us they did something wonky with the results.

Really wanting an overclocking centric board this go around though in all honesty, never had a 2 DIMM centric board. Those EVGA boards are so hot though.

For myself I am so close to just buying the Apex.  I do not trust that EVGA is going to release its Z690 anytime soon.. not going to wait half a year in a notify queue.

But.. I am still holding out hope...

On Twitter Jacob had told someone the Z690’s should be out in late Nov / Dec. So I can wait. I am still running my build from late 2012 with an Asus Maximus V Extreme and a Gen 3 Intel 3770k. The Asus board has been flawless but they abandoned it rather quickly so I want an EVGA this time.

It feels bad when you want something but can't have it, yet.

Hopefully, we hear some news so we can have some expectations set.

I like the idea of having an all EVGA setup knowing that the support is top-notch if I need it.

And nekkid!

Just looks like they're benching the 3090 KPE.  Will be interesting to see how the MB can push the 12900K.

Can someone clarify what is happening in the screenshot? Is that a KingPin z690? Who is benchmarking it EVGA? It's got some serious cooling on it as well.

I have my 12900k sitting on my desk as well, but its really a hurry up and wait scenario with just about everything new coming out, so why not be patient and wait?  Were at a pretty big step up in PC part tech and all parts are delayed, (if you are looking to make the jump to that next latest and greatest).  And I would assume if you are looking at the EVGA z690 King/Class (or Max Hero), you probably want a top end rig?

For me it's waiting for the 3090ti which supposedly will take advantage of PCI-e 5.0 and isn't rumored to land until mid Jan.  Along with waiting for decent DDR5 ram to come out, i'm sure we'll have better options come Jan.  It's going to torture me staring at that blue 12900k box, but I can wait, it will be worth it.

that's also what I made as remark when I saw it... considering a white case for myself I still believe I'll go for a black mb but that thing is really good looking...

You know a board is good looking when you consider changing your whole build for it! Haha I considered the same though, really want to do an all black build this time around but this has me considering doing a black and white theme…

I've been all about black-out builds for the past 10 years, but the specs and look of this sold me. Now I'm doing a white build with an EVGA GPU and CLC as the only black in it, for now. I wanted an EVGA board originally but couldn't wait.

I'm not, was just pointing out the 10 days from the comment which was 5 days ago. It would be hard to hold off buying a different ddr5 board if good ddr5 ram was purchasable. Hopefully, the ram doesn't come out until the end of Nov or the start of Dec which is hopefully around when the EVGA boards will be at least mentioned in some kind of news post.

I’ve moved on already. I’ll continue to monitor the kingpin board and I’m not afraid to sell what I have if it is really great. But with no release date, no pricing, and no features list I couldn’t wait. The Asus z690 boards are instock at Newegg. The Maximus extreme is pretty full featured, so I went with that.

Decent GSkill should be out by next week. Being able to buy some is a different story.
I’m waiting on the ASUS Extreme myself, hopefully it ships as expected on Friday.

Newegg.ca has it as a pre-order and says shipping on the 19th. Ordered from B&H as well but hasn’t shipped yet either. So the date is likely meaningless and just don’t have stock. I’m stuck waiting till then

What a Pain! I buy two i9-12900k cpus. I buy a high end Asus MB for one build and will wait for EVGA for the other MB. I did preorders.. Asus did not list any DDR5 compatibility lists before release day.. so did not preorder DDR5.. All DDR5 instantly sold out on release day, now its just like video cards etc. But wait, I will buy a DDR4 Asus MB to hold me over with some RAM. I order both.. but wait I can't find any High End Air Coolers that will fit. (I had ordered a Bequiet Dark Rock Pro4 and a Noctua D15 for the first build but neither one will work). Yes Water Cooling is best but I like Air... but looks like I am out of choices so I will see if there are compatibility issues with the Asus DDR4 MBs and Closed Loop coolers. This falls strictly on Asus.
I am not in a hurry for EVGA to get out its board. With DDR5 unavailable, I will wait till I can get the RAM first, then I will start trying to get the new EVGA MB.

Why won’t the d15 work? That’s what I plan on using. You just need low-profile ram. It def won’t work for the evga motherboard though.

What a Pain! I buy two i9-12900k cpus. I buy a high end Asus MB for one build and will wait for EVGA for the other MB. I did preorders.. Asus did not list any DDR5 compatibility lists before release day.. so did not preorder DDR5.. Some Asus boards (like strix) heatsink is in the way for the heatpipes so you have to modify the board to fit the heatsink.  Noctua posted a page on their site about it.
