Jacob just mentioned on the stream it's looking like January for the Z690 boards.  :(

Déjà vu Z590...

'Cept 12-series is actually exciting...

I agree fully which is also kind of bad news since hardware could be harder to find for builds.

Sweet.
Now I know Z690 will be my next build.
I ran my mighty X58 Classified board for 9 years and then sold it for $250.
One more year with Z390 / 9900K and I'm building a new system around the one of these boards.

Waiting on memory here more than anything.

Same. I took to long to research who makes good ram now days, that it sold out everywhere. I did get my 12700k shipped out to me though.

What RAM are you guys planning on throwing on your boards?

Since I'll be waiting on the Dark, will wait for the G.Skill Trident

Pretty much where I stand. I’ve had my Z68 FTW for almost 10 years. Overclock enough and you can almost guarantee 5+ years of good use.

Just had to return my Asus Z690 Extreme due to the GPU slot not locking. Why can't the Dark be out already?

Not locking because the Optimus KPE Block interferes with the M.2 heatsink?

No seems to be a defective locking thingy. Even taking off the heatsink it wouldn't lock, nor would it with a Linkup riser card. I think this may be an issue due to the new push button release. When contacting Asus they seemed really quick to accept it as a issue needing repair.
I started a return and grabbed a Apex bundle instead.

That's unfortunate.  Is that Apex bundle from Newegg Canada?

Yep. Managed to snag one when it was in stock. Better ram then I have now as well so that's a bonus

I think I got one of the last few Apex bundle in stock. Hopefully, it will be delivered Monday or Tuesday, next week.  Like everyone else, I have been looking for the DDR5 ram; I backordered the Kinsgton RAM at PC Canada.  Once I get shipping confirmation of the bundle, I will cancel that order.  Really wanted the EVGA Z690 MB, though.

I almost went with an Apex and G.Skill 6000 CL36 combo. Just decided what I had on the way was enough for me. So far I am happy with my MSI Carbon.

Is there any chance for EVGA to release bundles for Z690 mobos + 3000 series video cards or something like that in the future?
The situation in EU is crazy - it is the end of the year and there is no single card in stock :D Not even for Elite members.

Maybe we deserve a Christmas present or idk ... I know that a lot depends upon Nvidia and China itself, but this is getting so ridiculous :D

If they did offer a bundle deal for a Z690 MB and the new RTX 3090 TI I would be all over it!

BTW, I hope that at EVGA, they are aware of the new issues with the LGA1700 sockets: IgorsLab - Cooling issues with Intel’s Alder Lake – Problems with the LGA-1700 socket and a possible workaround

And I think that in general, it is a good thing to not rush the development and release of the new mobos, because things like bended socket and CPU are not acceptable at all (for this price range) ...
Yes, it sucks to wait for a new piece of technology, but if you are going to get buggy/faulty product, I personally think that it's worth to wait a bit more.

I highly doubt that they announce and take orders in a week, seeing how they haven’t even officially announced all the specs and have it listed on the site.  It’ll get announced early Q1 2022 with more than the first 10 people to get it on the notification list getting it in March 2022.

I’m not putting a lot of faith in these boards until they are listed on the website with final specs announced. The fact that it hasn’t happened yet is concerning for sure.
