Ok, i have no idea why this is so hard. I am trying to get the gold cups for this card: http://hwbot.org/hardware/videocard/geforce_9400_gt_ddr2_64bit

I am working on 05 right now. Somehow, the guy has an Athlon II x2 240 @ 3.6, and the 9400gt @ 670/520 (core/mem) and got just over 6.4k.

With my i7 920 @4.0, and my 9400gt @ 700/510, i am getting just under 6.4k. What gives?!

I gotta hit the hay now though. I am sooo tired, and am battling a nasty cold...

By the way Q, When I do 217 blck for the validation, all I have to do is set my RAM, and my vcore to 1.59, my CPU VTT to +500, and everything else at auto. I think it could go higher. I haven't needed to mess around with anything else. But when I use Eleet to go higher than 217, the computer locks, doesn't even BSOD. Then I have to do a hard shutdown. Any suggestions on that?

****. I set the gpu mem too high (510 is stable, i tried 520) and it crashed my system. BSOD 118 or something like that. It broke my RAID array, so now i have to wait for that to rebuild, and that takes a few hours.

Ouch. I just hope I don't cause any condensation later, that would SUCK. I'ma have to watch my temps really carefully.. I've got a trick up my sleeve. Gonna try to break 218 blck, and try to pass Vantage @ 756/linked/1276. Should be fun eh?

1 gold, 3 silver, 1 bronze for my 9400gt ddr2 64bit. I will probably try it with my e7400 and see if i can improve my scores. Maybe the older cpu will help like John said?

Also, Aquamark isn't working. When i try and start it it gives me an "Aquamark has stopped working" message. Should i just reinstall it?

chillers been running for around 45 minutes with no problem, not sure if my pump can cover all this ground though water is at -6 cpu is at 8 idle @4.6 took around 2 hours to get to -17 last night I hope I can get cpu closer to zero. Not up to natemans standards but not a bad first attempt.  Either way I can bench again.

Nice job reggie. Also, cores not being the same temp doesn't point to the TIM being uneven always. The heatspreader on the proc is almost always uneven, that is why many people lap thier chips, to get the heatspreader as flat as possible. That is probably the more likely problem.

Raise your PCIE clock to 105, or somewhere in that range.

Tone down the VTT, you dont need that much for 217. +450mv is really the max im comfortable with. Ive dont +550mv before though with water. The IMC's are a lot more delicate than the cores though. Now that my CPU is lapped though, there is no hope for an RMA

I think after I do a run on DICE this weekend, im going to write an extreme OCing guide. One thats not meant for people looking for 24/7 overclocks, but max benching.

even with PCIE clock @ 109 it hard locks.. I think temps is the issue. Thus my project.

Sounds like the motherboard, not the CPU. The same thing happened with my E758 at ~222 Bclk, but the problem vanished with my E760. Ive even booted up at 235 Bclk on this motherboard\CPU no problem (x17 multi though).

If your looking for a good benching board, get a Bloodrage GTI with the PCIE mod on it, once modded, those things will clock higher than any other motherboard. Im not sure if you will be able to find one though.

You might wanna trade in that Evga board for one that overclocks better.

Hmm... In that case.. I'll be benching 207 blck w/ HT, and 295 at WC speeds. And temps that low hopefully. On my list is an E762, if that doesn't happen I'll sell my X58 and get on anyways.

yes, temps.  you can also try more vcore once your temps go down.  I was at 1.6v @ 217 on WC.  Once temps decreased I ran 218 & 219 @ 1.58v.  But that was really cold (in the low teens idle).  With my 960 I'm at 1.66-1.67v (4.8ghz).

Just picked up a couple more gold cups for my lappy....destroyed the 3dm06 mark for gtx280m.  Had to use my 960 to get there, even though I can't over-clock on the laptop.  I love this flashing vBIOS stuff now....now makes me wonder about my other vid cards, other than the 295's, of course, as they're overclocked/over-volted to the high heavens anyway, lol.

Fabulously Ghetto test bench.

http://i175.photobucket.c...udster816/IMG_1359.jpg

That piece of wood top has holes drilled for the brass stand offs, and for some reason I decided to use bolts over screws so I could remove it..... The bolts dont touch the motherboard though.

http://i175.photobucket.c...udster816/IMG_1360.jpg

That'll hold my PSU. I need to make somethigns on the side for it though, it likes to move around too much

Very ghetto indeed Rudster. Nice though. How do the standoffs stay in the wood? Are the holes in the wood threaded?

Anyways, you've gotten my mind turning too now...
