Nate got the same thermocouple thermometer as me, and i'm pretty sure he went to a local Grainger too. I remember recommending it to him in a link to Grainger's website. They are actually a huge company. They are like Nvidia is to EVGA. The sell stuff to places like Lowe's...

johnksss hellshealer the card itself is not that hot at 720/1584/1350 i see about 67c in vantage with 100% fan but anything over that it will lock up.... i need to dropthe temps alot more to get over the shader wall i think but will try it and see what happens you may not have enough voltage. and what card is that with them clocks?? hellshealer hey john what temps are you seeing with your 5870 on air and what are you room temps? sorry, im not at room temp on my 5870. i have fans blowing on it to keep it cool... my card is a GTX 285 rev 1.1.... the only way to increase the power is with a hard mod and im looking into that too. with the 5870 even with the fans on it what are your room temps and card temps? lol ill try and replicate that when i start testing mine :)

Nice Rudster!! That looks awesome.. You should put a little DICE in just for fun, then lick the bottom of the pot. Oh, so today I experimented. I figured, what the hell, it's not cool enough to run GPU benches, so I figured I'd find out what my RAM can do on 9-9-9-27 timings with stock voltage. So I'll be running 1866Mhz 24/7 now.

Oh dear.. I checked XS last night.. Haven't been there in forever, noticed I had a 5 month old PM offering a 2 stage phase that could hold -90C @ 300W load for $2k, and a SS 300W load @ -30C for $400.. I wish I had an extra bit of $$$, and that I'd checked a while ago. Now I'm getting into checking there too.. lol. I'm gonna be running into the issue of too many forums to check.

When switching out vid cards (Nvida in this case) do you guys uninstall drivers, and reinstall afterwards? Or do you just pop out the old cards and put in the new?

johnksss ok, so how do you make dry ice work/? Kind of a vague question....... 1. Get pot. For DICE you dont need quite as much surface area as you do with LN2, and you can have a more massive pot. 2. Put Acetone\Everclear\etc in pot, about an inch or so high. Any liquid that doesnt freeze at DICE temperatures (-78.5c) will do, but PURE acetone works the best, dont use nail polish remover 3. Fill pot with DICE pellets. The smaller, the better, but dont waste your time chopping them up. Dont fill up the entire pot until you make sure your CPU doesnt cold bug at a high temperature. If your lucky, your i7 wont cold bug with DICE, and you can stuff the whole pot with DICE without having to maintain a target temperature. 4. BENCH! EDIT: and obviously, do this in a well ventilated area Thats it in a nutshell.
