What card do you have? I had a non reference fan model that the voltage was not adjustable.

reggiesanchez looks pretty easy actually by easy I mean ive been reading for 4 days straight and I think I get it now Thanks for the links Reg... Conceptually, yes...put the evaporator in a liquid that won't freeze and pump the liquid to your blocks. I'll get right on it... I'm certain that if I keep digging and am motivated to learn, It'll come....but not naturally...I tell my wife to call someone when something mechanical goes wrong at the house! I mean, I'm a finance guy, so I'll whip you up a nice spreadsheet if you need one, lol! I'm actually not that bad, but you get my point..

hey q I think I just busted my dehumidifier but now I know how easy it is. Its running super cold but I kinked some of the line I am going to let it run for a few hours and see if its too late or not. Im going to hit craigs list up and just try to find a few of them. Oh yea it only took about an hour to do. But I put both rads in the cooler like a dumba$$ and when I bent them back to fix it I kinked a few things.

hellshealer ok im a lil confused. do i need to flash the bios to asus or MSI on my HIS5870 to be able to change the voltage? If you figure that one out let us know. I had a non-reference fan model (xfx) that I was able to bump up the voltage slightly. And I mean only slightly (up to 1.163), but It gave me the ability to go over 1020 core. I tried the MSI BIOS which with my card, didn't work with afterburner. Go figure Msi after burner didn't work with MSI Bios...humm. With asus bios, i was able to over volt with the asus doctor software. It's fairly easy to flash the bios back and forth, so I'd give it a try if I were you.

You mean you stuck your rads in the cooled liquid instead of pumping the liquid through the system? Did you run your system and get some lower temps?

no I dont have my system hooked up to it yet. I have to build some sort of housing and figure out a way to cool the compressor its running super hot. I think my cheap thermometer gets stuck at 10 degrees because its been there for a while but the rad from the evaporater is in the cooler and the part thats not covered with water is frosty so I think its working. I just checked to see how much this dehumidifer cost and if I knew I wouldnt have used it. (it was a gift) Ill take some pics once im done if it works. Oh yea and thats what im going to try first is stick my rads in the cooled liquid and see what happens. I have 2 acs and might pick up another dehumdifier I found on craigs list. What ever I decide this one certainly wont be my final attempt.

Rudster816 johnksss ok, so how do you make dry ice work/? Kind of a vague question....... 1. Get pot. For DICE you dont need quite as much surface area as you do with LN2, and you can have a more massive pot. 2. Put Acetone\Everclear\etc in pot, about an inch or so high. Any liquid that doesnt freeze at DICE temperatures (-78.5c) will do, but PURE acetone works the best, dont use nail polish remover 3. Fill pot with DICE pellets. The smaller, the better, but dont waste your time chopping them up. Dont fill up the entire pot until you make sure your CPU doesnt cold bug at a high temperature. If your lucky, your i7 wont cold bug with DICE, and you can stuff the whole pot with DICE without having to maintain a target temperature. 4. BENCH! EDIT: and obviously, do this in a well ventilated area Thats it in a nutshell. what do u think nail polish remover is?

Are you on dice jon get some Kneaded eraser, you can get it at a local craft store, or if you have a chain Micheals, they sell it. Plastidip is much harder to clean than kneaded eraser. Nick was telling me that they got RMA'd boards where people just left the plastidip on

maybe for another board, but not for the classified. when it gets wet there it just wont boot. you clean it and it's back to normal. these boards take a licking and keep on ticking.

You got me really excited to start benching again with my 5870. My goal with my CPU under dice and stock GPU cooling is 23k Vantage, not sure about that one though. I know my card clocks to 1040/1300 under water in Quadfire (one of Gunslingers cards) so we will see how well I'll be able to do on stock air. I definately wont be holding the volts back though
